AHS was set up by my wife after years of payments from her account, statements coming in her name when we chose to cancel the service the *** told my wife they would and to make sure we did not get billing for the upcoming month. We did just that seen that we did not get charged fast forward the following month we were charged and each month after for 6 months totaling over $600 when my wife called back to dispute the charges she was told she was not the primary and couldnt close the account and we agreed to a free month of service not cancellation. After another month of disputes we continued to get the run around being told the investigation would only take a few days originally now *** after *** tells us something different. Company is a total scam they middle man ***airs and charge you still and dont cover what they say they do in the contract. And if you have a problem you get sent to a call center and given the run around and placed on hold.American Home Shield

We went back and forth for over a month, 2 different pros (appliance and electrical) were sent out to diagnose the problem with our dishwasher. They ordered parts to fix it. It was never fixed and they did not want to replace it even though it was smoking and not working. I do not recommend this company. Communication was garbage, the technicians will explain to me that this required replacement, however they kept saying it could be fixed. They wanted to push their solution on something they had no knowledge of (based on their explanation to me).American Home Shield

AHS is criminal. Ive had the same experiences as many other reviews here. In fact, on my 23rd, 6 days before my renewal. I let them know I did not want to renew but the two ***s I spoke to were so pushy that I had to tell them to stop pushing me and cancel my renewal. I also told the *** that I blocked my credit card from being charged by them because I did not trust their practices. Sure enough on May 29th they attempted to charge my credit card the monthly fee. This despite being told on May 23rd it would not renew. They instruct their call center ***s to be predatory in retaining accounts and then do not cancel accounts when requested. This company is not to be trusted.American Home Shield

I was sold on the warranty because of the free HVAC tune up they offer. I got an email yesterday reminding me to schedule it. Today I am told that this offer expired 4 weeks ago. Very DISHONEST and noone can help me.American Home Shield

Disappointed in AHSs Logic and Customer ********************** I purchased the ShieldGold plan from American Home Shield and waited the full 30-day waiting period before submitting my first service request. My issue was a range cooktop with a broken glass surface a very straightforward problem that I expected would be covered under the ******* my surprise, I received a notice stating that the technician determined the damage was a pre-existing condition and therefore not covered. This was incredibly frustrating because:How can anyone determine when a piece of glass broke just by looking at it? Theres no time stamp on shattered glass. If it were rust, corrosion, or mechanical failure I could maybe understand. But this? It feels like a convenient excuse to deny coverage on a technicality that cant actually be proven either way.AHS claims to cover undetectable pre-existing conditions, and nowhere in their process was I asked to provide a move-in inspection report or any documentation to prove the damage occurred after the waiting period yet they somehow decided it happened before.This feels like a classic example of a warranty company finding a way to avoid responsibility, and its incredibly disappointing after paying upfront and following their process exactly.American Home Shield

This company is dishonest and a scam. They will not repair or replace appliances. They get unscrupulous vendors to claim your appliance is missing parts or components to deny your claim. The are defrauding the consumer with a fake diagnosis. They will not allow you to provide the facts to make a determination. Stay away from this company!!!!American Home Shield

I pay for a higher plan so that the payout for appliances would be more. Only to need my dryer replaced and given a very low price. Im told that we look at what you have and assign a similar product. What sense does that make especially if your product is 10 years old. Also, mind you I have been without a dryer 6-8 weeks but no service recovery.American Home Shield

I have been dealing with American Home Shield for four years now. My monthly premium goes up every year and of course I have to pay a service fee of $125.00 to have someone come out to my home. Then of course if it is something major all of sudden that isn't or can't be covered and i have to pay the expense out of pocket. Something small well they are all about covering it. My latest thing is my central heat is blowing hot air instead of cold so of course i call and make a service request that it is 92 degrees in my house (and take note i live in *******) the lady on the other end says to me they only consider it a emergency if the Temperature gets above 105 degrees. I said you have to be crazy I am in ******* all we have is heat and humidity and no breeze. All she said is sorry for the inconvenience we can sign a company to come out to your home. I of course said fine and guess what the company can't get out to my house till next Wednesday that is 7 days from now. I am suppose to be without AC till then and today the high where i live is 99 degrees that means the heat index will reach over 105. And another thing that drives me insane I can never get an American speaking person they are either from the *********** or Trinidad or somewhere else besides the good old USA.i HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED TO PAY OVER 1K A YEAR AND HARDLY EVER USE IT AND WHEN I DO NEED IT I GET SERVICE LIKE THIS OR GET TOLD IT ISN'T COVERED UNDERE THE PROGRAMAmerican Home Shield

We have been valued customers for 6 years, opening one ********************** per year at most. Recently out water heater broke due to " normal wear". We had a service technician come and they wanted an extra $970.00 on top of what AHS would pay. We asked AHS to give us a price breakdown and a payout amount and they ignored us Hung up on us and then after 6 days gave us a payout amount that they know would not cover a new water heater let alone the installation of the unit. When asked again for a price break down they told us we don't have that to give you and hung up again.American Home Shield
