I submitted for an HVAC issue. They sent a technician to the house to inspect it. We discussed two different options, a parts replacement and a unit replacement. They informed me they recommended the full unit replacement. This was going to provide me a coverage from American Home Shield of about $3,000. However, when I submitted for a cash out the technician told American Home Shield the recommended action was the parts replacement leaving me with a significantly smaller pay out of $277. When I told American Home Shield the discrepancy they didn't care stating I must have misunderstood the technician. I even told them I got a second opinion that also stated the unit needed to be replaced, and not just a parts replacement, but they didn't care about that either holding firm to their original offer leaving me to have to cover the full cost of the replacement. This was a wasted warranty purchase, and I will not be continuing after the contract is up.American Home Shield

Save your money, this home warranty is not worth the money. I purchased a home warranty for my son condo to help him out. He started having problems with the **** in April 2024. The first vendor came out 3 times between that time and the end of the year 2024, with the same answer, repair the compressor at $3000 each time. when the **** stops cooling again in March 2025, a new company came with the same fix, I said no. I was bounce between Comfort First and AHS saying that it was the other companies responsibility for getting a replacement HVAC. AHS deleted all the previous invoices and said they would only approve of trying to fix the compressor for the 4th time. At my own home I took out coverage for my well pump, surprise surprise AHS only covered the paying for the part everything else was a NOT covered. So I paid $7500 and AHS paid $1500. No thanks NO MORE AHS. If I could give ZERO Stars I wouldAmerican Home Shield

Stay away! Very poor service. I've been waiting 3 weeks to have my refrigerator/ freezer fixed. The first company they assigned to us never showed up. The second came and haven't heard from them since. I reached out to AHS and they acted as if it wasn't a big deal. I explained my husband is diabetic and his meds need to be refrigerated still didn't care. Total waste of money. I will be transferring to a new company.American Home Shield

AMERICAN HOME SHIELD POOR CUSTOMER **********************!!! I have been waiting 3 months for my stove repair. The technician sent out has had the part for repair since 3/13/25. ******* All Pro Heating and Plumbing schedule's appointments to close my ticket so that they can stay in good standing with AHS, but the tech no shows every time! I have called AHS for a solution and every time I'm told a supervisor will call me back in ***** hours. They call but never with a solution. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a warranty.American Home Shield

Had to wait for furnace repair for 2 weeks when temps were below zero. Still had to pay $300 out of pocket. Had hot water heater go bad and had to pay an additional $2500 out of pocket that they wouldnt cover. Then upon trying to cancel my warranty plan, they transferred me multiple times after trying to convince me to stay. They talked themselves up about how much money I would save by keeping them. I had to yell into the phone and threaten calling my attorney before the would in fact cancel my plan. I still dont know if its truly cancelled as I never received the email they promised. All calls go to call centers out of country and contractors used cant be found on BBB or elsewhere. I would highly suggest avoiding this company as its more expense than its worth.American Home Shield

AHS Service Provider: ***************************Service Date: Thursday, March 13, 2025The service provider came to my home, set up a ladder, took a picture, and asked what happened when the metal bracket attached to the fan blade broke into two pieces and promptly left (3-5 min in and out). Sadly, a week went by without me hearing anything. I contacted the service provider and heard nothing. Eventually I called American Home Shield (AHS) and was told that my fan would not be fixed and that the service provider notes indicated that the fan owner/operator caused the broken part and that it wasnt broken due to normal wear and tear, leading AHS to decline *********** complaints and concerns are these:1.I have had AHS coverage in my current home for nearly 20 years.2.The 5 ceiling fans in my home were already there when I purchased my home, and I have been cleaning them in the same manner for nearly 20 years.3.The fans in my home have never been serviced by AHS or anyone else.4.Normal wear and tear must certainly take place over a 20-year *********** the very brief, succinct interaction that I had with the service provider, he did not interview me regarding the fan to get a full picture.6. When I called AHS customer ********************** there was not way to send this complaint, I just got the run-around through the AHS toll free line and then the online chat feature.I am disappointed and disturbed that AHS and the service provider would make this determination without considering the age of the fan and without considering the unlikelihood that a simple cleaning could break a metal piece in two.American Home Shield

You cannot cancel your membership without going through a call tree and waiting endlessly. I'm currently on hold and this is the sixth attempt to get this account cancelled. You cannot remove your credit card from the AHS website without calling. I had to put a stop payment on AHS with my bank because I still cannot cancel.American Home Shield

THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE SCAM!!! THEY WILL NOT REPLACE YOUR APPLIANCE. THEY WILL OFFER TO REPLACE A PART EVEN IF THE APPLIANCE IS SO OLD PARTS AREN'T MADE ANYMORE. THEY WILL HAVE A PART 'FABRICATED' AND IT WILL TAKE 4-6 WEEKS. I CHOSE THE CASH IN LIEU AND PURCHASED A NEW REFRIGERATOR AND THEN THEY DIDN'T MAIL ME THE CHECK. GETTING AN ANSWER FROM THEM IS NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!American Home Shield

Save your money, this home warranty is a ****! They charge you a hefty monthly fee plus $125 every time they come out to solve an issue. Put the money aside in your bank account and when it comes time to repair or replace an appliance you will have more than enough, instead of throwing it in the trash with this company. I had roof coverage in my plan, and I had a small roof leak during Florida summer, which meant heavy rain every day and water coming in my house. They took 3 weeks to send me a repair estimate. The estimate was about 30% more than I was quoted with other roofing companies in the area. The other companies came out immediately and had an estimate the same day. American Home Shield only covered about $900 of the $5000 estimate they sent me. So not only do they make you wait an exorbitant amount of time but they dont actually cover anything. My ** is not cooling properly, they came out charged me $125 to look at it and told me I had to pay for a cleaning, which cost me $450. I paid for the cleaning and the ** still does not cooling properly properly. They sent the same company out to check my ** and said they didnt think there was a problem with the ** and that they would only replace or repair if it doesnt turn on. This company is trash.
