I moved into my home in February of this year (2022) and have had multiple issues and have not received responses in regards to addressing them. This morning we woke up to a leak in our roof after a monsoon rain in one of our guest bedrooms. I have tried calling our local office but have not received a response.Since we did our initial walk through, our sliding glass door does not close properly, our AC and insulation need to be looked at and we were told we would have tile flooring in our front room and that it would be installed after we moved into the home with a time frame of 4-6 weeks and it still has not been take care of. We have tried calling multiple times to have these issues resolved but continue to be given phone numbers to call and never receive an answer or response.Business Response

We have constant communication issue with DR *********************** We are at our 11 month warranty claim time and its been a complete waste of time and energy. They want to put a bandaid on issues that need repaired. For one, our shower upstairs started leaking because of the flex in the floor of shower. Their fix was to put foam under the shower and blocking. Low and behold it is again flexing and they want to do the same fix as before. We explained we wanted a guarantee on their so called fix that once it messes up again, it will be covered under warranty. Its been an overall disappointment dealing with this company. They have horrible construction practices and even worse customer support.Business Response

Recently bought a DRHorton house in ********************* addition.From day one we have had issues.Many things were not complete at final walkthrough but were promised to be fixed so we could get moved in. They are still no addressed. All our door framing and trim work is riddled with visible nail holes and damaged wood. It looks like a inexperienced armature completed all our woodwork. Its Embarrassing. The excuse we are given my the company is, we just use cheap wood, or that is just this it is. However, I have never in my life seen trim work in a new how full Of holes and dents. You can still read the wording on the floor trim cause it was never primed and painted properly. Trim and door frames and filled by the floor with caulk instead of properly cutting the right lengths. Its almost comical how bad it is and how they refuse to fix it. The wall paint is not only a different color from our contract but such a cheap quality that you cant even wipe the walls without it rubbing off. Exhaust fans were all installed improperly. Exterior paint was touched up with the wrong colors and they have yet to fix that. So our house is cosmetically a disaster. Dishwasher installed crooked. Backyard doesnt Drain. we are in a drought warning, yet we have a mud pit in our back yard. Obviously that means a drainage issue? ******************* is a mess. No one knows what the other is doing and nothing gets fixed. Just a bandaid over a bad job to begin with. Promises of fixes that dont ever come.Business Response

Ive been after DR ********************** to replace a tree that they have killed by doing irreparable damage to the root system. This is according to their arborist. The tree is a live oak and, as far as I know, is protected by SC. I purchased the house prior to the construction damage to the tree and want ********************** to replace it with a mature healthy tree as it was prior to construction. Ive been trying to resolve this for over a year, originally with the construction manager and now their warrantee person. The damage to the tree was irresponsible and they need to be held accountable.Business Response

We moved in on 4/29 and was supposed to have an inspection a week after to show them of things that we found issues with. We didnt get our inspection for more than 30 days and to this date still have not had all the issues resolved. During this time we have more issue come to light. And we have contacted the building supervisor multiple times. No response. Contacted the person that sold us the house and they said our building supervisor changed. So we contacted them and they said that we had to go through the original building supervisor and not him. We contacted the building supervisor two more times. No response. There is a community ******** page and we have noticed that this is a major issue with this company. Bad work, bad material and no one willing to help like they promise during buying process. They also laid our sod and it looks horrible and has gaps everywhere and is dying even watering like they said. One of the trees they planted died 2 days later and no replacement even though they said its guaranteed for a year. We need help with getting all these issues resolved and have exhausted all options to work with this company. This company needs to be held accountable for their lack of actions when providing such a poor product.Business Response

DR ********************** in ******* ** refuses to fix a warranty issue on a home I bought from them in July of 2021. The hvac is leaking in the interior, ceiling vents and mold is growing inside the home. I reported this at least three times since August of 2021. It has never been repaired. The issue appears to be shoddy workmanship in regards to insulation that DR ********************** neglected when building the home. It is also leaking from the pvc tubing in the interior unit closet. I am very unhappy as the mold is possibly doing harm to my health and my wife and children. We purchased a new home from D.R. Horton just over 2 years ago. We are only there part time so we have not always been there to see any issues. There have been a number of issues with the house and most have been satisfactorily resolved. One that has not is an outside light on one side of the garage. It wasnt working and they came out and got it working but it only worked for about 2 weeks. We have been gone for a number of months so we couldnt deal with it. We had an electrician come out to fix it and he told us the fixture was defective and could be a fire hazard. I contacted D.R. Hortons warranty department and they said since it was a model it was sold as is and they have no responsibility. We find it hard to believe that they have no responsibility for a defective part that could be a fire hazard.Business Response

As part of the purchase agreement, the customer signed the Model Home Addendum, which states the home being purchased is in AS IScondition. As such, it is the customers responsibility, under contract of the home, to replace any light fixtures that do not work.Customer Answer

I purchased a new home construction from DR ********************** and closed August 2021. Besides the awful experience while waiting for house to be completed, due to what I was told supply issues and having house pushed back over 6 months to be finished. I am still waiting on warranty claims from our final walk through to be completed. Examples: AC Airflow within house which I am now seeing white mold build up (this can lead to health related issues), lack of front/backyard drainage that leaves yard like a swamp, window replacement, cracked driveway, sliding door lock hinge, just to name a few. For a company that boosts about being ********* Builder and its 2022 earnings, they are not taking responsibility in the commitment to the homeowners. I understand issues will arise with new construction homes but skipping corners or not following through on home repairs is unacceptable. Buying a house, especially in this current market, should be enjoyable and homeowners should not have to experience this lack accountability for fixes that need to be taken care of. I have went through the appropriate channels and submitted warranty requests to only get the run around. They have fixed some of the issues I have had since moving into home but seem to be only quick fixes or a short term solution. Example with AC they had company blow more insulation in attic to help with hotter rooms, which has not made a difference. I am not asking for much. I just want the issues found to be resolved and not jerked around. I am going on my 1st year of ownership and will soon lose out on filing warranty claims which seems to be what they are hoping for to not take any responsibility for the mistakes made when building home. Worst part about everything is I have called the corporate office in ********, ** and sent emails to the Division ********** **************************** Still waiting to claims to be resolved.Business Response

We purchased out home 10/28/2020 with Dr. *********************** We requested a walk-through to address the warranty issues that needed to be corrected prior to our 1 year warranty expiring. As instructed, I put in a service request on 10/14/22 for a walk thru. When I did not receive a response, I requested one again on 10/22/20, and we had *** come out to do our walk through 10/25/20...STILL WITHIN our 1 year period to report any issues. There were several issues which took many texts, calls and emails to get addressed. However, we still cannot get the last two warranty issues addressed. I have documented emails to both *** Agromante and *************************** at Dr. *********************** as well as 21 seperate text communications spanning from 10/22/21 thru 7/6/22 with *** where our warranty issues are acknowledged as ligitimate warranty issues and told that we will have them resolved...but nothing ever happens. We have a mirror in our master bath that was never sealed correctly and has terrible black edge, and 4 lights that need replaced. My last two emails I was told by *** that the vendors arent responding to him and he would get the main office involved on 6/22. When I followed up 7/6 he did not respond, and again on 7/19 he said he hadn't involved the office yet but would. My last inquiry on 7/21/22 was ignored again. I have documentation of all text and email correspondence - each of which confirms these are warranty issues that need to be addressed, and should have been done expediently upon our walk through 10/25/2021 **** MONTHS AGO. We need help getting these last issues fixed and following up for 9 months has gotten me nowhere. Please help, they are not honoring their warranty.Business Response

We purchased a new construction in ********* ** and closed on 7/5/2022 after pro-longing the closing date by 2 weeks. In the final walk-through, the superintendent mentioned that they will fix the bathroom fan/light because it was broken and the light and fan doesn't turn on and they would patch up the drywall that the construction workers damaged and a few other touch-up areas throughout the house. We thought that these items would be corrected quickly after we closed since they were fairly minor and thought it would be corrected fast for a huge building contractor like DR *********************** It is now 7/28/2022 and these items still have not been repaired. I can't get anyone out to correct and fix these items for us. It's unacceptable!!!Business Response
