Door to door salesman came offering to spray for a discounted price - $100. I thought that it was a great deal and accepted the offer. I provided him with my information and credit card payment for the 1 treatment. The next month I get an automatic withdrawal on my account by Alta. $65 Never authorized. Called the company and told me I signed a 12 month agreement. The salesman never told me this. I was signing an agreement for the 1 treatment. Asked to cancel the contract and told me it would be $250 additional dollars. Asked several times to speak to a manager without success. I was scammed by the salesman to a contract that I never agreed too. All I want is my account closed out without any issues and was told they would take me to small claims court. Extremely rude and would never recommend. I called the door to door salesman and was told me would take care of the balance and never did.Business Response

On or about Jun 2023 a Alta Pest Control Salesman knocked on our door. Alta Pest Control as in the neighborhood to "Save Residents money for Pest Control services". They shared pest control services for $43 a Months/Quarter. The Alta Pest Control salesman stated " Give us a chance with 3 treatments, You can cancel anytime" This sounded reasonable. Alta Pest Control provided treatment within a day (as we agreed with the Salesman) The next treatment we did not discuss, schedule nor were we contacted ~ Jun 30. We were not home nor are we aware what was done. We contacted Alta Pest Control to discuss scheduling and treatment without Our presents (The home owner). We were told we had an unpaid balance of $107.? (We paid) As We did not reach an agreement and thus canceled Alta Pest Control services. Alta Pest Control now stated we owed for some discount and the balance would be $507 and began threatening collections. We did not agree to any of this, we only sought reasonable Pest Control services as sold by Alta Pest Control Salesman. Business with Alta Pest Control is not desirable, hidden fees and bogus charges are a problem.SincerelyBusiness Response

The Alta Employee came through my fence, that was closet, to solicit. If there is a fence there it is for a reason, no trespassing. They entered private property to solicit. I will no longer put up with entering my property without permission. I will take things in my own hands after calling the police.Business Response

Salesperson just showed up at my house unannounced at 6:30pm. Wouldn't let me talk until he got his pre-programmed icebreaker opening out. Then I had to tell him multiple times I wasn't interested and additionally had to escalate to telling him to leave multiple times before he finally left my property.This is the second time I have been visited by salespeople from this company in the last couple of months, both of which I asked that they not contact me again. Considering my most recent interaction, I am considering all further contact from Alta Pest Control harassment.Business Response

We used to have a contract with Ardent Pest Control. In the past week we have been getting texts and emails from a ***** company, Alta Pest Control. They have apparently bought out Ardent and insist that we have a contract with them. We don't. We met the terms of our contract months ago as Ardent agreed.. Now, this ************ is trying to bully us and its not appreciated. . We are both in our 70s and they are trying to scam us.Your help would be greatly appreciated.*************************Business Response

June 2023 this company treated ant problems on my premises. When I asked the salesman whether this was a one-time treatment, they confirmed that it was a onetime treatment with no future charges, then I gave my credit card to him. Later, he kept promoting a quarterly service to me and sent several contract links via text messages, but I never signed those contracts because that was more than what I needed. Today I was notified that I had signed up for a quarterly service, and upon cancellation, I need to pay $294 for penalty and $59.54 for the second service which was never performed. First of all, why $294 dollars? They claimed it was the discount they gave to me on my initial service, but there is NOWHERE in the invoice mentioned that I need to pay them back. My initial service was done, why should I pay back the discount?Secondly, I NEVER signed up for the quarterly service, nor did I even touch the contract links they sent; in my account portal, I DID NOT find any contract agreements of the quarterly service; and I DID NOT receive any papers from ALTA Pest confirming I signed up for the quarterly service. ALTA Pest and their representative **fraudulently** represented me to sign up for service without my consent. I am demanding a service cancellation without penalty and refund of the second service (which was never performed).Business Response

My husband signed up for pest control service with Alta based on the promise of quick responses to service and that they would come out as much as needed to get the job finished, however, this was not at all the service that was provided. They do not come out promptly, and despite coming to spray several times, their service was still not effective. We had and continue to have as many issues as ever with pests. When we tried to cancel the contract based on the ineffective services, **** will threaten to send you to collections for the remainder of the contract. I wish we would have spent more money on a company that cares and will do the job as promises, not just looking to sign people up for contracts and try to not perform their portion of the job.Business Response

After canceling my service over the phone, a technician showed up next mont to do a service, i told the guy that I already canceled the service, its recorded on my ring camera..next thing i get an invoice for service completed even with a description of the chemicals he used, called the office to clarify that he did not do any service and that I already canceled only to be warned that if I dont pay they will send it to collection..now i am getting harassed with emails every day about paying for the service not provided ,I have all the proofs i need and if they dont stop this will end on a small claims courtBusiness Response

Company "Representative" was on a scooter through our subdivision trolling for new business on June 10th in the afternoon. I allowed the young man to deliver his sales pitch and story that he was a relative of a neighbor two houses down and this was a family business start-up. So with my faith in humanity, I signed up with the express condition that it was to be a cash paid upon each service and most importantly that if my husband wasn't behind the service and I was assured that I would have 3 business days to cancel. As my husband was working nights he made the decision to cancel service on the 3rd business day June 14th when an unauthorized withdrawal from the checking account , as Sunday was not a business day and he called in the morning. He was told that Sunday counted as a business day, and that a charge of almost $400 to cancel service. Requests for a supervisor or manager to call but was never contacted.The company then continued to harass with collection company threats.Business Response

On June 13, 2023, approximately 9pm an Alta Pest Control representative rang our doorbell and knocked. We have a "no solicitation" sign. I answered via the ring cam. The employee would not identify himself and instead responded to my questions with "I want you ma'am", weird laughing, and asking if we were home and behaving in a bizarre manner about me not coming outside. When he finally identify himself he was cursing about "being out here all **** day". At this point I ended the call with the cam and ran outside of my garage to order him off our property. He laughed at me and continued laughing as he walked across our lawn to go ring someone else's doorbell.I have a saved video from our ring cam to document this inappropriate behavior. I checked with **********, this company is does not have a door to door solicitation permit. They are doing this illegally.Business Response
