This is a predatory company using high-pressure sales tactics and dishonesty to scam people door-to-door. Against my better judgement and the warnings of my husband, I agreed to let them do ONE spider control spray at my home. Whatever they used was as ineffective as tap water. We had multiple spiders in the house over the next few weeks. Whats worse is that they then had the gall to claim I signed up for a full year of services and have repeatedly harassed me ever since with goons at my door and con artists calling me to demand payment I dont owe them for services I never agreed toand wouldnt want because they dont actually do anything anyway! The Washington State ************************ is also going to get an earful about these despicable scammers. Alta needs to be shut down.Business Response

On August 8, 2023, a salesman came to my home to sell outside pest control. He sold me a 12 month package. He said that I would pay $85 per treatment. He did the first treatment and I gave him a check for $42.41. That was a discount off the $85 per treatment. I never saw nor did I receive a contract at that time. I was not informed of the three day cancellation notice. I did not agree to be recorded nor videoed, which were both done. When I had a problem with the of 9.5%, I requested a copy of the contract. When I saw that they expected me to pay $85 plus tax per month, I wanted to cancel. They are now saying that if I cancel, I will have to pay $460. I talked to a JAG lawyer that said that I should have received the contract on signing and I should have been given a three day cancellation notice. I was given neither. The contract was not delivered until I had requested a copy at least a month later.Business Response

they showed up at my door one day.i desided to give them a try.well I still got spiders an ants ,they have not been back.i let them not spray on the inside that day.but I only have one lung.they where suppose to put up some kind of things to keep spiders from building their webs back,but they didn't .I tried to tex them three times ,the only thing they return is ,more deals they have.i am own a fixed income ,I want my money back,cause it's not working ,an they aren't trying.no wonder they got so many complaints.they want even acknowledge me .I have them just as much as ever.i want the contract stopped .or I *************** don't even think it was big spray.i am going to have to council my debit card ,to keep them from taking my money for nothing.they haven't done nothing they said they would. ***************************** p.s they done mine by phone ,showed up at my house 45min.from their office.Business Response

I have noticed an increase in American Roaches on the external part of my home, and asked questions about the monthly fogger being used around the windows and doorways. I expressed that I am still seeing waterbug (American Roaches), mosquitos, box elders, wasps, earwigs, and spiders around my home.I was billed again on October 6, 2023 for $80 after asking Alta to not return to my home. Both my daughter and I have been in contact with **** regarding this issue and are told different things about what our contract covers.****'s product does not work on fleas. I have incurred additional costs for my two dogs due to the product not working and a flea infestation in my yard since starting Alta's service.Alta's product is not working. I would like to end the contract with a zero balance. The contract has a cancellation fee of $454 if the contract is cancelled within the first 12 months of service. I am rejecting this response because:I would like to discontinue the service due to product not working regarding the guaranteed pests listed in the contract. The only amicable solution at this time is to discontinue the service without any additional expense and to refund the $80 fee from October. **** has not fulfilled their part of the contract, as advertised and as posted in the contract regarding guaranteed pest. Waterbugs, mosquitos and other bugs are still present.
My dogs have suffered tremendously due to the flea infestation. The product does not work. I listed the agents used in the product in the initial email. I would like the $80 reimbursed that was charged in October and I do not want to pay the early termination fees.

I am enrolled in quarterly pest control service with Alta and pay when services are rendered. They missed their ************* so serviced my home on August 2, which I paid for per contract. They then showed up again on September 28 unrequested to provide another quarterly service. I called and explained I was not due and the fee was waived. A technician showed up again today to provide yet another "quarterly service" and charged me my regular rate. I called to attempt to resolve this situation as I was serviced August 2, then again September 29. Furthermore, the same technician came to my house today that was there last week to perform a quarterly service. He should have alerted management that he just serviced my home and neglected to raise any flags that service was duplicated, They said they are on an automated scheduling system and that the charge was staying. My contract is for quarterly service and do not feel that I should be double billed because of their scheduling issues.Business Response

I signed a year long contract with Alta over 12 months ago for $64 a month for pest control. They only came out twice after several phone calls and I continued to have pest control issues all year. I started calling last month September 2023 to cancel the service, because they were continuing to bill me after the end of the 12 months, but I havent been able to speak to anyone in person, so they continue to bill me monthly for a service they are not providing. I tried to email the business, but they emailed back saying they would not cancel the service unless I spoke to someone in person or over the phone.Business Response

Im being charged for a service i never received. I already had a pest control company and a sales rep for **** came to my house and spoke with my wife. The sales rep informed her that Alta would pay any transfer fees for switching from my existing service. This was not done and as such i refused service from Alta. I am now being charged $40 a month for service i do not have not and will not receive. I have a $170 bill when no services were rendered. My wife cancelled the service contract with said sales person after they had not paid the associated fees with my current provider. This is not good business I will not be paying I will contact a lawyer and dispute any claims made against my credit. I was told I would be contacted within an hour and a half by the director but that time has passed.Business Response

Signed up for pest control service in July that is supposed to provide monthly treatment/service on the 2nd Monday of the month. In August, we had not received service so after a week I called and was told that due to a glitch we never got scheduled. They then assured me they had us scheduled for the 2nd Monday of the month moving forward. In September, after not receiving monthly service I called again and was told someone was coming out a few days later. Turns out that someone was only there to do a specialized quarterly treatment and not the routine monthly service. They told me they would let their manager know that someone still needed to perform monthly service. After waiting more than a week, I called back to check status to learn once again we were not on schedule. ******** service agent originally was just going to schedule us for following month (skipping monthly service without addressing payment reimbursement). They finally got us scheduled for 9/29 (last Friday of the month). It is fatiguing and frustrating to call each month, wait for available agent, explain the situation for a service that is supposed to occur automatically. Initial mistake might be understandable. Repeated mistakes leave the impression they are scamming people. There is a steep penalty for canceling service, which they appear to rely on to string people along.Business Response
