Low cost interlock isnt holding up their end, they keep charging me. They will not answer their customer service for me to remove the ******************** device from my car, meanwhile its being charged every day for having their device. And they wont answer the phone to give me a date to remove it. The remover of the device, cannot remove the device without Lowcost interlock placing the work order to do so. I have paid an extra month because I have been waiting and Ive also paid the removal fee. They gave me an option while I was on hold today, 11/5/2024, to get a call back to put the work order through for removal and when they did call, about 4 hours later, they immediately hung up. I called right back and got no answer and when I went through the prompts again, was put on hold again for hours. I would to schedule my removal of the low cost interlock breathalyzer device. While I have this equipment in my car Im being charged and if it isnt removed it will continue. Please call me to put through the work order of the device.Initial Complaint

I got charged an installation fee, as well as monthly fees for recalibration, when I had a proper indigent form filled out and submitted and I have been unable to get a hold of anyone regarding this. Absolutely no customer service available via email or phone.Initial Complaint

The interlock device installed in my vehicle constantly malfunctions without cause, and I am currently locked out of my vehicle for no apparent reason. This has caused extreme inconvenience, as I was scheduled to leave on an important trip. Despite following all protocols, the device has proven to be unreliable and faulty.What makes this situation worse is the lack of customer service. The company is impossible to reach by phone, and I have been unable to get any assistance despite numerous attempts. This level of unresponsiveness is unacceptable for a service that affects my ability to use my vehicle. Even the shop where I had the device installed admitted that Low Cost Interlock is known for its poor service and faulty equipment, expressing frustration over their inability to communicate with the company as well.Additionally, I find the company's business practices to be deceptive. They do not provide clear information about the potential for malfunction or offer adequate support for customers who experience issues. As a result, I feel misled and taken advantage of.I strongly urge you to investigate this company for deceptive practices, malfunctioning equipment, and lack of customer support. I would not recommend anyone do business with them based on my experience.I have paid this company well over $600 thus far and would like a full refund and to have the device removed free of charge. I have had issues with the interlock system since the first month I started. It is almost impossible to get anyone in the phone. I have spent over 2 hours on hold waiting for an answer just to have the call disconnected, if I do get someone in the line, they are unhelpful and in many cases try to transfer me to someone an in those cases the calls get disconnected. They approach complainants as if they are just criminals and the issues just need to be dealt with without any effort for resolution or to fix the problem.Initial Complaint

On April 11, 2024 I contacted this company to provide a certification letter to ******* saying that they ran my name and found no vehicles in my name. I paid $81 for them to fill out the form which they sent to me electronically and I signed and sent what they needed immediately. On April 12 I was told it was sent into PennDOT and it would take ***** business days for them to process. So I waited. And waited. Finally yesterday I was able to get a hold of an actual person at ******* who confirmed nothing had been sent in by this company NOTHING. So not only did I waste $81, but the worst part is I have gotten ZERO CREDIT for the time I have served not driving!! Cue later after the phone call with *******.. I have tried repeatedly getting a hold of someone to figure this out except the only time they answer is if you are a new customer. Otherwise they say to email and well get around to it in 3-5 business days ?? Yeah, okay! Good one! If you try and speak through the new customer option then they will hang up on you the second they see you actually already paid them for a service (no more money to be squeezed out of you I suppose). I have served longer than my sentence imposed and still am dealing with incompetence and this complete joke of a company who is more than willing to take your money and then not perform the service they say they will.Initial Complaint

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Low Cost Interlock (LCI). This complaint is in regard to issues Ive had with the device from January to June of 2024. Ive been enrolled with LCI since late June of 2023. In January, they sent out a new device since the original device was malfunctioning. I had to pick it up in ************ at the service center 45 minutes away. This is the first inconvenience. That device worked until late May 2024. When I went for my calibration on May 27 (done every two months) the service center had issues calibrating the device. When I went back to my car to see if the device would work, it did not. I blew into the device 75+ times but got an error message each time to please blow longer I indeed was blowing long enough, the device was trying to accept my sample before I was done blowing. I tried contacting LCI and sat on hold for 45 minutes. A rep then troubleshooted with me for 15 minutes before sending me back to their customer service queue. Eventually, I got someone back on the phone but they couldnt get my device to work. I tried every troubleshooting method they provided with no luck. As 5 pm neared, the representative went ahead and tried calibrating my device again. This time it calibrated. But upon going back to my car, the device wouldnt accept my sample. Eventually, I was able to get home after spending 4 hours in ************. They went ahead and sent another new device, which I went back to pick up on May 29. Upon returning home, the new device would not work. I again called LCI for assistance but their troubleshooting would not work. The device has yet to work for me and today is June 10. I have called LCI numerous times over the last two weeks to file complaints and speak with a supervisor, but no one has called me back and I havent been able to drive for nearly two weeks. I am seeking financial compensation for my inconveniences and simply to have my device work again so I can drive my car.Initial Complaint

I got a device from Low Cost Ignition Interlock. I had it for two months. The handset was not operating correctly. I had to blow into several times to get the car started. It took me five to ten minutes before I could drive off. Because I had so much difficulty with the product, I sent them messages. When they finally did answer my call, I asked them to remove it. They told me it costs $156 to remove it. Then I had to pay the installer another $50 that day. They removed it on Thursday, 2/15/2024. ********* Auto and Truck took it off.Initial Complaint

April 20th was scheduled to go in and install a IID devise on my vehicle.I went and devise ws installed the paper work provided to take to DMVwas brought to thier additonal tht someone has a suspended license and they can not process our paperwork. The ignition interlock that they provided to an installer, and was installed in my vehicle failed to power on. The representative from LCI told me on the phone that there was nothing that he could do. He told me to call the installer. The installer has never answered the phone or returned any communication to this day. I left multiple voicemails during business hours and after at multiple locations. My spouse recently had a stroke and cannot walk. She had 2 different emergency medical issues during the 3 days that my vehicle was stuck in a ******* parking lot. We had to use Lyft. After no one was answering the phones during business hours for a couple of days, I hired a mobile mechanic to come and help me remove the defective device and return my vehicle to me. I spent 2 x $30 for the ride share, and $180 for the mechanic. The company is still trying to charge my credit card for their monthly service. I have alerted my bank to fraudulent activity.I have receipts and phone records. I have the defective device and can send it wherever they want. I started my contract with low cost interlock on Jan 22, 2024. With that I had to pay 30 dollars down and ***** per month. The breathalyzer and camera was installed on my vehicle Feb 2, 2024. That cost was 215 dollars. Since the installation, I have had nothing but problems with this device. ******** failed samples and violations while completely sober. With either of these you have to provide another sample in less than 5 minutes and clearly it's me giving another sample. Its recorded. There is no way in h*** a person can me intoxicated one minute and sober the next. I have reached out to the company many times due to this. They sent a text and email the first time with instructions to go back to the shop and have the breathalyzer replaced. Since then, 2 more violations have occurred due to device failure. I have tried reaching out to the company many times, at least 5 or 6 emails, I called and was placed on hold for an hour and a half before I hung up. The company has never actually communicated with me. I simply want to talk to someone to plead my case. I have to travel an hour and a half away to have this system re-calibrated monthly which costs 25 dollars each time I also have to return to the shop in less than a week every time there is a violation and pay another 25 dollars. I do not have the extra time nor money for all of this. Yet, my drivers license is dependent upon this. With every violation, I have to go an extra month! I don't know if this company is simply trying to make more money off of me or what. It's ridiculous to play around with someones life like this. I pray for help in this matter. Having to go through this is a nightmare.
