      From one who traveled with Southwest 6 to 10 round trips per year for quite a few years now. Not overlooking the storm, the disaster at Southwest during holiday travel Christmas 2022 has been in the makings for a couple of years now and it finally reached the boiling point. The company has reached a point where their employees are so frustrated that they are willing to openly express their frustration with the company in front of their customers. This Includes their pilots. Not a comforting feeling when one overhears a pilot dropping F bombs expressing frustration knowing that same person will soon be 'behind the wheel' at 30 to ****** feet. The chances of interacting with a downright rude gate agent or crew member on the plane have become more likely to happen as not. My return flight was canceled at Christmas, missed a few days work which was a huge burden to my employer and company which was already operating on a skeleton crew over the holidays. Southwest has yet "to make things right" as their CEO claims. Five calls to them to date only to learn on the latest 2 calls that "they are just overwhelmed". Once any flight credits are exhausted I personally will travel on another airline and take my chances elsewhere. Sometimes it's not just about the best price. The chance of a flight being on time and a pleasant experience matters and Southwest's claims of "LUV" don't describe my personal experiences with Southwest for several years now. That loyalty to them is gone for sure. Obviously this is not directed at those at Southwest who have maintained their professionalism and friendliness as the company has grown but there's less of you now. If the others don't realize this, the customers are what keep them in jobs.

      I was one of the customers affected by the Christmas week cancellations at **************. I submitted my receipts for extra hotel room nights and expenses and, after a wait of a couple of weeks, was reimbursed today. I am content with this and with Southwest as an airline as it doesn't nickel and dime you for bags, seat selections, etc.

      My flight was canceled trying to get from ********* ** back to ******* **. You stated you were going to do right by your customer. You send me a email offering $250 for reimbursement. You gotta be joking. I spent $2000 between booking with another airline , ************ for 4 extra days due to Southwest airlines cancelation. Which all the airlines were very expensive & taking advantage of people. This is highly upsetting.

      Flight cancelled from ******* to ***** dec 28. Had to rent car and stay in 2 hotels. Filled out reimbursement form on southwest app but submit button does not work. Tried to call ***** number for southwest, but instead of ringing, it automatically switches to recording telling me call can not go through and try later. Tried this 3 times.

      Flight almost got canceled because the attendants "landed really late last night" so my flight cut into their mandatory 10 hour rest break so they almost canceled it but decided to just delay it 30 mins instead

      Gate was changed literally right before boarding was suppose to happen and I was never notified. If it wasn't for the random guy asking me what flight I was on I would've never known because it didn't even update in my app. I run over to the new gate and they have started boarding so I get in line and after about **** mins of everyone wondering what's going on the lady that takes your boarding passes straight up said "we have no crew. One is getting off another flight right now. The other one I have no idea where they are" and told ** to go sit down.

      When we finally boarded the plane- we then sat at the gate and didn't move for an hour after every passenger was on. We watched as 2 attendants that were flying as passengers went back and forth debating about whether they should get off the plane and stay stranded in ********* or take the flight to ********* where they knew they would also be stranded. Mr missing attendant comes on the intercom and said he wanted to let us know that no one notified him that he was missing until a few minutes before he showed up. Which was at least 2 hours after WE were told he was "missing". He said this flight was never on his schedule. He also said we are sitting here at the gate for an hour because they were doing last minute paperwork that apparently they couldn't have done during the 5 hours we were sitting at the gate????

      Bought tickets for my 2 kids to fly in the day after Christmas for a week and southwest kept switching their flights all day long until they finally just canceled it all together. Now I've got a text saying I need to call them to change the fight but they aren't answering calls, you can't even get it to ring. My kids spent an entire day sitting at *** and now I am not even certain about any flights. Southwest should be ashamed. I would've left 0 stars if I could've. I am glad to learn they will be investigated however, I don't get to see my kids because of their inability to run their airline and even just answer phone calls. This debacle is totally unacceptable and they should compensate everyone who had to deal with their issues. No other airline had this kind of trouble but, they are certainly taking advantage of southwests trouble. Delta had a flight I could've put my kids on but they wanted over **** dollars, we usually call that price gouging. I don't think I will continue to use southwest for my flights anymore, they cannot be trusted

      Do you want to actually reach your destination? DONT FLY SOUTHWEST.... Ever!! understaffed, they cancel flights constantly, you cannot rebook online, they don't answer their customer service calls. The absolute worst airline of all time, ruined my holidays and plans and they don't care about their clients. If you're having trouble rebooking they refer you to their customer care line or website, but you can't rebook online or get a person to answer the phone. If you love being screwed over, having your money stolen because you can't get a refund and being stranded at the airport for days on end with zero empathy or apologies, this is your airline

      Southwest will not unload luggage from cancelled flights from ***. Their customer service is terrible. They are telling all customers there is nothing they can do. Basically stealing our luggage.

      I have flown with Southwest Airlines for years with little incident but I am thoroughly disgusted by how they handled mass cancellation of flights on December 24, 2022 in *******, **. Flights for our vacation were booked and paid for in October 2022. We were scheduled to fly from ****** to *********** with a connecting flight in *******. The flight attendants notified travelers flying to *********** that they would re-board the same plane after going through customs. We quickly exited the plane, went through customs, then through TSA, and arrived at our gate at 8:35 for the flight to ***********. The flight was scheduled to depart at 9:30pm. At approximately 9:20pm, a Southwest employee working at the gate announced that the plane was there and she was "just waiting." Then, at 9:40pm, the same employee announced that the flight had been canceled. When asked why, she screamed that there was "no crew." She unapologetically laughed about the flight cancellation. Many people became upset because they were stranded at the ******* airport. There were no local hotels or car rentals available due to the mass cancellation of flights and Southwest had no available flights for two to three days after December 25th. Southwest referred travelers to the ticket counter, where approximately 50 people were waiting in line to find another flight. The first customer spent more than an hour at the ticket counter and no other employees were there to help. At some point, police were directed to the gate because "people were upset" about the cancellation. I overheard the police saying "you can't change the weather" and that the upset customers were selfish for not letting Southwest employees enjoy the holiday with their family. However, no bad weather was in our flight path. We eventually found a rental car at **** around 11pm and drove 13 hours overnight on Christmas Eve to get home. This experience was highly unprofessional and deeply concerning for the thousands of people impacted.
