      I joined Ourtime which is part of the People Media business on 10/25/22. I paid $120.65 for six months. My reason for joining was simple; meeting nice women within 15 miles on my home. The first issue I had was a login screen that wanted me to enroll in an auto-renew. I had declined that at the beginning. It's too easy for any business especially one focused on older adults looking for companions to just "scam" them out of their money. Every time I logged in after the first, I was hit with this same message. They didn't care what I wanted.

      The second part of this complaint is the really bad website. It's old and looks like a Wicken platform which was a very simple software platform used by many small businesses back in the early 2000s. It was also free. But any self-respecting business, either large or small, would use a "real" platform and software. AND, the only way to communicate with the women who liked my photo, was through a chat system. This is okay is the overall system was secure enough to share phone numbers. I never do that to strangers anyway. It's not safe. I need to know who I'm communicating with and then after a month or so, meet them for coffee if I was interest.

      To me, this business is not professional, not secure, and not set up with the basics of navigation. It just looks like a website and its features that has been setup by young children.

      So, I cancelled the membership on 11/15/22 and requested a refund. I have not received a refund and they've had plenty of time to do that and I'm not sure that I received a confirmation on my cancelation. Fortunately, I'm smart enough to have made screenshots of everything and they are attached.

      We are sorry to hear that the Ourtime service did not meet ****'s expectations. Please note that the OurTime Terms and Conditions state that "purchases are final and nonrefundable, and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods." However, we strive to provide a positive experience for current and former members. Therefore, we have issued a prorated refund of $76.44 as a one-time courtesy, and these funds will be available within 5-10 business days.

      Unfortunately, our records show that e-mails sent to the registered address have bounced back, and the cancellation confirmation has been returned as failed. In this case, we can confirm that this subscription has been cancelled. As of 11/5/22.

      A couple of things. The old fallback they site on their terms is old. Companies force consumers and employees to sign these ridiculous agreements in order to get their service. I doubt that agreement will hold up in court. The other thing is about my email address. I got their email with an agreement to pay $76.44, so no bouncing of my email. This amount is incorrect. I used the service once in a while over 21 days. I will agree to pay for 21 days. The average number of days in six months is 180. So, divide 120.65 (my payment) by 180 and the daily rate is 1.50 per day, so the refund should be $89.15. I suggest this company refund this amount or I'll see them in small claims court.

      While we have confirmed that our records show failed delivery for past e-mails sent to the e-mail address provided, we are unable to provide insight as to what may have caused this issue. We recommend **** contact their e-mail provider for further inquiries.

      Be advised that our service does not offer daily subscription periods, and we do not advertise otherwise. However, as previously indicated, People Media endeavors to provide current and former members with a positive experience on our service, and we have issued a refund of the remaining $44.21.

      Internet corruption and bad customer service. The only thing they did right because I complained to BBB is refund the entire premium. I will never do business with them again and tell anyone who asks for a recommendation about my experience.

      Again, there is nothing wrong with my email address.

      I called to cancel my subscription with OUR TIME. The subscription ends in December and I prepaid last month until that time. The guy on the phone said he would cancel the subscription and cancel the auto renewal. That was on November 2nd. Then I get a charge for $10.11 for who knows what on November 3rd. They have locked me out of the account so I cannot cancel digitially. This is a totally scam.

      blackpeoplemeet.com, and BLKAre telling me they are having problems deleting my account. I think their customer service chair was awesome and I would prefer them to anyone however I want my account removed and I have paid my bill. Could you please assist me in helping me to get them to cancel my bill so they won't debit my account next month without my permission. Very respectfully ******** ******

      We have reviewed our records and can confirm that ********'s BLK account was previously deleted by our support team as requested. However, we see that this same request also mentioned a BlackPeopleMeet account which was not referenced in this BBB concern. If ******** is requesting deletion of their BlackPeopleMeet account, we ask that this be confirmed before we take additional action.

      Regarding billing, please note ******** purchased their subscription through Apple, therefore, we are unable to assist with cancellation or refund requests in this case. Instead, we recommend that ******** contact Apple directly at the following link: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes. These subscriptions are managed through Apple's external billing system, and we do not have access. However, the Apple support team should be able to provide assistance with this portion of ********'s request.

      This dating site is a scam. They used my photos and got all my information. Email. Phone number. And never gave I been able to actually meet / view anyones profile on there. They scammed me and now I'm getting weird emails and texts. Do not use this dating site !

      I paid for reduced membership and there are no members, they are fake members, and Ive encountered at least 12 fake profiles from scammers. How do I know? BC OUrtime let me know the names of the people I was corresponding with were scammers and warned me. All of the profiles are scammers or fake. I want a refund of my subscritpion fee. I inclueded a screenshot of all the warnings bc of fake accounts I was corresponding with, I inclued one screenshot of an email, inside this one email is reported "3 fake accounts" I was talking with, and thats just one of the emails.

      I've been waiting for a refund from, Peoplemedia, Inc. in the amount of $90.71 (OurTime Dating Service) for for over two months.

      I've been in contact with several representatives, Brian on June 14, 2022 - 9:30 AM who gave me a Reference #************ for my refund request. Second call was on June 23, 2022 and spoke with Ellis 10:20am who gave me an expedited Ticket #*****. Third call was on July 6, 2022 spoke with Axel 3:08pm who said the would look into my concern and delay in my refund.

      After looking into this further, we have discovered an issue with our billing system that caused the refund process to fail before completion. We have processed another refund request for this charge as of 7/25, and it appears this attempt was successful. We ask that ****** review his PayPal account to verify that the funds were successfully received.
