      I'm m beyond disappointed with how American Airlines handled my refund request after an incredibly tragic and unexpected situation. I had a trip planned to ***** that was organized entirely by a licensed travel agent who tragically passed away in a car accident shortly before the departure date. She was not only coordinating the entire trip hotels, excursions, itinerary but also attending herself.Following her death, the entire trip fell apart: the hotel and all planned activities were canceled by her estate. I submitted her obituary, the detailed travel itinerary, and proof of payments tied to her travel business. Despite this, American Airlines refused to issue a refund because the agent wasnt listed on my flight and my ticket was Basic Economy. That response is cold, unreasonable, and completely lacks compassion for a clearly extraordinary situation.Worse, the customer service experience was insulting:I was hung up on by ******** ****** when I asked to speak with a supervisor.******** **** and ******** from the refunds department were dismissive and unhelpful, despite me providing everything they asked for.******, a supervisor in *******, told me that I could receive a travel credit if I created an AAdvantage account. I followed those instructionsonly to be told later that no credit would be issued either.American Airlines seems to care more about rigid policy than people. I wasnt trying to cancel a vacation on a whim I had no accommodations, no activities, and no way to proceed with the trip due to someones tragic death. Denying a refund under these circumstances is inexcusable.This experience has truly changed how I view American Airlines. I would urge others to think twice before booking with a company that refuses to show basic human decency and empathy.

      My fianc and I flew American Airlines (AA1097 from RSW to CLT on July 9) on our way to our destination wedding in ******. We packed carefully, using carry-ons to keep my wedding dress, his tux, and other essentials with us. A gate agent told us the flight wasnt full and our bags would be fine.Minutes later, he singled me out to measure my personal item (which fit), claimed it wouldnt go under the seat (it didphoto attached), and forced us to check a bag for $75. I was in tearsterrified it wouldnt make our tight international connection. To make matters worse, we watched another passenger board with much larger items and no issue.The agent was rude, dismissive, and showed no empathy during what should have been one of the happiest days of our lives. Weve traveled with these same bags worldwide without a problem. This felt unfair and targeted, and it put a huge damper on our travel to our wedding.American Airlines, we expected better. Were requesting a refund and hope you address this. ******** *************** ********

      Be sure if you ever make the mistake of flying American Airlines that you inspect your luggage thoroughly before leaving the airport. Because if they damage it, you need to report it to the baggage office before leaving the office or they don't care. Last time I flew with them, they cancelled my flight (another completely separate problem which cost me $400 and got me booked on a 5AM flight to make up for it, but I already knew they were awful at that). Regardless, they kept my bag overnight and loaded it on my new flight the next day. I had to rush from the airport to make it to my work meeting the next morning, so I didn't notice until I got there that they had broken my luggage and it was scratching the floor when I attempted to roll it. The airline "apologized for any inconvenience" and informed me that I should have gotten a document number from the baggage office for the problem before leaving the airport. And I have gotten no response since.

      Flight was delayed at the last minute. Rescheduled for the next day in am but would not provide hotel accommodation or food vouchers because they said it was do to weather and they only reimburse for mechanical issues, although there was other people that were there with the same situation and because they complained enough, they were able to get a voucher and meal compensation . Then the new flight was delayed again to the point that we wouldve missed our connecting flight by minutes but yet they wouldnt hold plane for us so we had to rebook another flight and sit in the airport for five hours instead of the initial 40 minute layover then the pilot was late and magically. They had a passenger who was late, but yet they allowed them to board the plane lack of communication and varying rules was very disappointed.

      This was the worst airline experience in my life. The airline lost and entire checked bag at HNL, which due to a move for work had all my things in it and then they told me it was likely STOLEN by homeless people in the airport and wont take responsibility.

      Do Not Fly American Airlines.This was the worst flight experience I have ever had. They had a computer outage. Many of their Flights were canceled & delayed. My sister and I were suppose to arrive in *********** on June 28th. We did not get home to *********** until June 30th. When I got to ***********, they had trouble locating our luggage. We saw many suitcases strewn about in the airport, peoples luggage unattended, wildly all over the place in the airport. There was 1 person working the desk, and it was too much for her to keep track of. A handful of people came to track down their luggage. It seemed like such a mess. We paid over 3000 dollars for our international flights. We were delayed by 3 hours on way there, it took us 4 hours to go through customs in *****, and over 30 hours delayed on our way back home. It was so awful, I slept for multiple days when I finally got back home. Do not Choose American Airlines.

      To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to share my recent experiences with American Airlines during a particularly difficult period following my father's passing. I traveled to *************, **, from June 11th to June 28th to support my family as we prepared for the ********** journey began with a scheduled departure on June 11th (AA 3621), but due to weather delays, I did not arrive in ************* until June 12th. While waiting on the tarmac in ******* for over an hour, the pilot informed us that he was awaiting clearance from *** due to poor weather. I understand these issues are beyond the airline's control, but if the situation was genuinely concerning, it raises questions about the decision to take off, especially knowing many passengers would miss connections.Once at ***, I was devastated to learn that I had missed my connecting flight and found little assistance from your staff. I felt lost and overwhelmed, especially since my baggage contained irreplaceable items I wanted to pass on to my family. After a frustrating wait, I received a notification about my bag, but it never arrived. When I sought help, I was told to wait several hours, with minimal support from staff, which was discouraging.Eventually, I had to arrange for a hotel stay, purchasing essentials just to manage. Upon finally arriving in *************, I hoped for a smoother return on June 28th, but again faced delays. I quickly rebooked a flight to avoid a long wait, ******* through multiple terminals.Upon returning to *******, I learned one of my bags would arrive the next day. However, when I approached the baggage service, I was met with indifference and instructed to scan a QR code for assistance instead of receiving help directly. While my bag eventually arrived, this experience highlights a troubling decline in customer service at **********************. I hope you will address these issues and enhance the experience for future travelers.

      Horrible Airlines, the one out ********* stay away from, employees are rude , talk bad about customers and coworkers while expect you to stand there and when ask to be attended their threat you like you are bothering them , very unprofessional. Stay away if you can .

      Zero stars! Was just told by a counter worker..our delay 5 hours (delayed 6 hours last week) was a staffing issue and blamed America for that.. Will be our last AA flight..
