My flight from *** to ***, layover at DC was delayed for over 3 hours. I received a text that because of delay I won't be getting to ******* from ** until 5PM next day instead of 11:00PM same day. Since I had to be at work next day at 9:00AM, I booked another flight via JetBlue the morning of and made to ******* by 12:00PM next day, and at work 1:00 PM, 4 hours late at work. Spent $300.00 extra for the flight, $60 for the hotel and $30.00 for Uber round trip, and had to pay 4 hours of wages to cover my shift (pharmacy owner).No apologies or refund offered by AA. SAD, and DISAPPOINTING!American Airlines

The absolute worst air travel experience I've ever had. We had a connecting flight on a Sunday that was supposed to leave around noon. They delayed the flight repeatedly, and repeatedly gave us different reasons for the delay. They wouldn't put us on another flight because they said technically we still had a flight. When they finally admitted the flight was cancelled it was around 9:30 pm and our children were falling apart. The next flight they could put us on was on Tuesday. To their credit, they did put us ** in a hotel. We asked for our bags but it was taking so long we had to leave so we could finally get the kids in bed. I checked and double-checked that the bags would be there if I came back the next day and they confirmed the bags would be waiting for me. I went back the next day to get them and they said they had sent them to our final destination. We were wearing the same clothes for two days in 110 degree weather, and so had to buy new clothes.We finally made it home and when we picked up our bags everything was wet, my son's car seat and all our clothes. They must have left our stuff out in the rain while we waited for it.I will go out of my way and pay extra in the future if it means I don't have to fly with American Airlines again.American Airlines

WORST AIRLINE SERVICES THAT YOU CAN TRUST, I HAVE PAID FOR EXTRA BAG WITH $166 TO TRAVEL TO ***** AND THEY KEEP SAYING WE DON'T HAVE YOUR BAG RUNNIG AROUND FOR 3 DAYS WITH NO ANSWER FROM ANY-ONE MANAGER AND I DON'T GET ANY RESPOND WORST AIRLINES EVERAmerican Airlines

I fly often for business and usually fly Delta since I live near *******. In the last year I have tried using American Airlines 3 times for my business travel because the arrival time best coincided with my meetings. On all 3 occasions there has been an issue. On my first trip my flight was delayed causing a missed connection, on my next trip on a connecting flight from ********, ** to ******* I was forced to sleep in the ******* airport due to my flight being canceled and all the hotels were booked near the airport, and on my last flight a gate agent tried to instigate a physical altercation because he asked me to remove my laptop from my bag because they were going to have to gate check it. I simply tried to ask if the airline was going to allow me to hold it during the flight because it was not in a case. He very rudely told me I would just have to deal with it and to get on the plane. It if it loudly and in front of other passengers causing me a lot of embarrassment. I vow to never again use American even if I have to come in a day early for my meetings so I can fly Delta.American Airlines

Kept changing the gate and connecting flights in ****** up to the day of my dad's flight. He had a long layover in ******, which is not air-conditioned. They have delayed the flight three times so far citing not enough flight crew. No word on compensation or if the plane will leave at all tonight. This is not anyway to treat people.American Airlines

Horrible customer service. Just try to call and find a person to talk to!American Airlines lost my luggage on a flight from ******* ** to ****** ********.They expect me to pay $565 to ship my bag to me. They state the bag is in a warehouse in ****** **. So...let me get this straight. They ship my bag to the wrong place and I am supposed to pay to get it back?!! What kind of company expects to be paid for their mistakes?I am just sick about this. Now I am faced with the horrible choice of paying for their error or never seeing my bag contents again.I am retired and saved to make this trip. Am I supposed to now pay MORE to get my belongings back? This is so unfair.American Airlines

I am very displeased about my situation. To begin with I had an connecting flight to ***********, ** and our flight was delayed as well as we arrived late which resulted in everyone being in a rush to get off because we literally had 5 mins getting to the next plane. So therefore my IPad was left on the plane because of the commotion. My husband and I ended up missing our connecting flight to ********* we didnt even make it to boarding because they werent letting anyone else through by that time I realized I didnt have my IPad we went back to the plane they told us someone took it and its probably in the lost and found area and we repeatedly asked about retrieving it. I even showed them the find my Ipad on my phone that it was there and it was moving through the airport they stated they can no longer do anything about it and that it was in lost and found and I had to fill out a report. We sat in the airport for an hour and my iPad tracker showed it was there. I had filled out a report and they told me within 30 days they would take care of it. I was completely given the run around contact The ******************* and they gave me a number that then led me to another number that gave me American Airlines lost and found number because it is not on any website online and I have been going back-and-forth back-and-forth about retrieving my items and was being told that nothing showed up every time I would call and to try again. I received an email stating that they could no longer search for my IPad and the gentleman I spoke with, thought it was strange about the email that I received because the date it was sent they said that they were closed and he told me that my 30 days wasnt even up at that time so he didnt know why that email was sent so that led me to believe that there is shady people working for American Airlines and that theres thieves within this company and they are not done anything about it and I would like to be reimbursed for having to repurchaseAmerican Airlines

Worst Airlines ever. After this airline canceled my flight twice due to no fault of my own, I missed my connecting flight so I was unable to reach my destination. I called American Airlines to request a refund and they refused but offered me a credit to take another flight on there Airlines that made me missed my original flight.American Airlines

AA cancelled our trip on June 2nd 2022. This was a 50th birthday trip to ******* for me. They tried to offer us a credit for our seats which we declined. We couldn't ************ out and end up canceling our 4 day trip. Now we are fighting our Agent and the insurance, because they say the don't handle cancellation! I've been teying to speak to somebody for almost two weeks so they can help us out. What a joke! Birthday was ruined!American Airlines

Not sure how they have stayed in business. I have never flown out out of or through ********* without an issue. Has a ticket from *** to CHS and of course it was canceled because of poor pilot management. Trying to get a refund and it's been 10 days so far. The automated system says it was refunded January 2. The ticket was purchased this July and was for July. Amazing that they refunded a flight 7 months before it was even ticketed. As typical it's a nightmare trying to talk to anyone. The government needs to step in and regulate the customer service for these subpar businesses. They take your money instantly but when it's time for a legitimate refund it's chaos.American Airlines
