Property management only gave me 72 hours to notify them of not wanting to renew. Now I must pay over $2000 for an apartment that is going to be vacant for a month.

just now NEW ************ is literally the worst, I have sent emails to the info@ I have called the ******* # and havent got any response. I have been staying at ************** for 5 years and as soon as it was bought by first communities I have had nothing but problems with zero solutions. My apartment is basically full of mold and they decide to finally work on it with me still living in the unit. (Chemicals , 3 fans blowing all day , tube connected to sink , and a hole in my ceiling and wall) Mind you its a bigger issue than the part they are fixing.I have water damage my roof leaks and because of that mold has been growing and they initially had someone come patch it up lol. My property manager. seems very callous and doesnt care , I have had 2 unauthorized people at my door one being a homeless person and the other a maintenance stating he was coming to fix my apartment but he had no work order very suspicious..I gave my property manager 3 solutions to rectify the mold and water damage and one being just move me to another unit; but somehow Im waiting and there are over 30 available 1 bedrooms because the property is basically vacant probably due to the lack of professionalism and the mold problems. I have also been emailing *** from first communities and havent got any response. Run from this company and specifically **************!

I do Believe this company needs to be banned from continuing business. They allow the most horrible things to occur at all of there residential properties. *** had a whole cabinet fall off the wall and hit me in my head until i bled Blood and it took them 4 days to get someone to my house . Ive had roaches crawl around my home as if they pay the rent and they even crawl around the leasing office . The manager just laughed and said omg i see Them too no big deal. Like this is beyond a mess . 50 *************** ******* ******* is a no go . They have had a lot of management since Ive started and its not getting better . You are paying them to sit in the front and make sure no one gets through to the corporate office . Im filing a lawsuit immediately and completely want out of my lease . This is not okay and they think people dont have the money to do so but they got the right one this time .

The apartments are pleasing to the eye for sure , however when you actually move in not so much . I should have known from my initial move in date being pushed back by 2 weeks that it would be a problem . (And yes ..I didnt have a place to stay for two weeks because the complex allowed the previous tenant to change her move out date numerous times). The walls are extremely thin. I have called multiple times about my neighbor above me and still no one has the decency to stop the stomping and loud screaming . This is has gone on for months. On top of that the stove falls apart at least three times a month . Maintenance has come to fix it multiple times .. but yet again it broke this morning by simply pulling the handle . There seems to be a lot of condensation everytime it rains that is causing some sort of mold between the blinds of each room. Maintenance said he would order stoppers months went by that never happened . All he did was clean it with bleach which anyone could do. The gates are ALWAYS open. There was a group of teens in ski mask not too long ago that were able to get in driving a white van . They pulled the fire alarm causing everyone to come outside (***** min) in 50 degree weather to wait for the fire department and police .The staff never addressed this issue. I dont plan on renewing my lease at all . For the price you pay for rent here , everything should be immaculate. Im writing this review because no one ever answers the phone.Update: I still wouldnt recommend anyone to lease here. I have put in numerous request in regards to a broken toilet which maitenance came and fixed multiple times. The last 3 months the water and sewage bill has increased significantly. The complex is under new management and honestly, they are worse than the ones before. Assistant manager is rude and will continue to speak over you, while trying to get you off the phone. I asked for corporate in regards to issues I had, and was told to ****** the number.

I have lived here at **********************, ***********, **, for 4 + years now and this is the most predatory rent increase I have ever experienced. (And I lived in *** before, one of THE capital of predatory landlords and high rent in the country!First Communities took over management in 2022, and is now hiking the rent by $217.00 with not much room for negotiation. When I protested the exorbitant hike, they took of a mere $17. Moreover, there seems to be no legal recourse for residents. ** legislators have do better by its citizens. We need some protection from predatory landlords who are allowed total autonomy over usotherwise we will continue to be at the mercy of their incessant greed. Rent increase SHOULd be mandated to be reasonable and NOT be left to the whim of landlords controlled by the market strategy. After-all, who controls the market? Vee

This company took over our property earlier in 2022. We had issue prior to their take over but were taken care of and were communicated with regarding it. Since theyve been here, communication is non existent. They do not respond to emails. Weve been without hear during the coldest time over xmas weekend. We called the emergency line 6 times with no answer or a way to leave a voicemail. Put in a work order and sent an email to have a paper trail. Finally someone showed up at 530p Monday 12/25/2022 and couldnt fix it. Received a call with no voicemail left or an email followup as I work over nights (they are well aware) so I have no idea whats even going on at this point (still no heat). Weve had multiple issues arise that they send someone out for but do not resolve it so we end up calling a month later for the same thing. Now theyre wanting to raise our rent by $400 ($1400) a month with zero upgrades, nothing worth paying that much for, or resolving the abundance of issues weve had. This place needs to be shut down and never own another property again.

This experience has been the worst. I was originally told if you become a homeowner, you could move out without penalty but they would keep your deposit. When I finally bought a house, they did not honor this, and tried to charge me for wear and tear of carpet and a cleaning fee, but I have pictures myself. I also had to deal with the rudest neighbors underneath me who constantly banged on the ceiling and half of the time the rent office did not respond to my emails. When it was time to renew, they took their precious time trying to give me what the new rent amount would be. In addition, when I moved out, they were very rude and nasty and they were upset that I finally bought a home and they were losing a good tenant who has paid rent on time every month. This is sickening how they try to keep people at the bottom and show no compassion at all, the most disgusting, greedy company I have ever dealt with. But I serve a God who is BIGGER and GREATER, who will make my enemies my footstools, so I am not worried about the situation at all because it will work out in my favor. When you play dirty, you never win and greed gets you nowhere!

Asset Living purchased the property I was renting to become State College Collective on Aaron II in State College, PA. During my time there, they were late on every maintenance request I made. Most recently, after I attempted to dispute my final move-out statement, they completely ignored me for over thirty days despite reaching out at least four times over email and two times over the phone. I was told my staff members that my concerns were being forwarded to a Chris *******, but he did not respond to me. Then I received a notice from a collections agency. When I called after that, my call was finally forwarded to Chris who said I could forward him my dispute. After sending it to him, as per usual, I was ignored. I was called by the collections agency that I was wrongly sent to and had to mail them the proof that we were wrongly charged. Finally, my guarantor reached out to Kyle **** who finally looked into the dispute and fixed it for us. No one should have to go through the amount of trouble and jump through all of the hoops we had to to get answers. I followed their protocols, and they still sent me to collections. I'm deeply hurt and upset by how I was treated at all levels of management, and I will never rent from an Asset Living property again if I can help it.

Beware these apartments covering up and not disclosing that some of these apartments have prior water damage. Everywhere from the base boards, walls & doors. We found cockroaches probably from all of the moisture inside the walls. Leasing office try to hide these details from us and pressured us to sign leasing documents before we could inspect the apartment.

Tuesday November 1st 2022. We got our keys and and did a pre-inspection and found the apartment was never cleaned every surface was untouched. We address this to the assistant manager she encourage us to clean it ourselves.

They promised a clean apartment and we tried to hold them to their commitment. After waiting over 2 hours the office assistant manager and housekeeper came over for 22 minutes to clean. She told me they were done. We came in and everything was still dirty. We pointed out that this not fair to new tenants. She told us that it is clean and they have done their part then left. A 2 bedroom apartment should take 1-2 hours to clean not 22 minutes.

We came into the office the next day and talked with the Head Manager. We sat down and explained our situation. She was defensive and acted like this was business as usual. She’s told us she’s been an apartment manager for last 20 years. It seems like she us numb to caring about these problems.

She made no attempts to make it right. She wouldn’t even come to the apartment to investigate. She knows the truth and is trying to avoid & deny what’s going on. We tried the entire to be courteous and professional. Even with what’s going on we feel sorry for her. How can you come to work each day treating people like this. I’m just glad we took several pictures and video of the unit prior to moving in.

Wednesday less then 24 hrs in our apartment. Sergio Maintenance rep told us last winter several pipes broke due to extreme winter in past. To save money all they did was replace carpet and paint over water damage.
