I've lived here (one of your properties - Cahaba Grandview in Birmingham, AL) for over 6 years and like my apartment. But through no fault of my own, two separate water leaks caused BLACK MOLD to grow inside my walls and likely underneath the floor as well. Management hired an environmental consultant to assess the situation and give them a plan. And they promised to make things right. But now 11 months later, they have done nothing. So it appears they have reneged on their promise to follow professional recommendations to make my apartment safe again.

I was not paid my correct security deposit fee refund. I paid over $1,500 and they recorded $300. THIS IS NOT OKAY. WHERE IS MY MONEY. Why are your records so wildly incorrect??

STAY AWAY from Lexington Park managed by Castlegate Property Group at all costs! They recently deleted the official ****** location for the actual complex, b/c of all the bad reviews. Theyre trying to hide the fact that this is a RUN DOWN place that theyre only covering up with paint & advertising as renovated. This place is GHETTO, SHADY, WILL KEEP YOUR MONEY, NEVER RESPOND TO EMAILS OR CALLS, & NEVER FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEIR WORD. 100% regret applying here & losing money. Please ****** Castlegate Property Group on ****** Maps: ************************************************************************, you can see my FULL REVIEW WITH PICTURES to fully understand. It limits me on this review. Long story short, I was able to get most of my money back, but I lost almost $500. ******************** fee) I feel ripped off & scammed. I understand if the apartment was in good *************** was wrong with it, but there were SO many issues that I had no choice but to change my mind. I dont think anyone would want to move into a place like that. They offered another apartment, however seeing the current apt turned me off to the entire complex. ************************* the manager was understanding & apologetic, but I knew I had to go higher up to see if I could get a refund for the admin fee at least. I spoke with ************************* (Senior Regional Manger of Castlegate Properties) on the ****** ***** listened to my concerns, but not once did she express any empathy or give an apology. I emailed her ************* that I posted ***** ***** said she will see what she can do about the admin fee. That was 2 weeks ago. I called multiple times, left a ************** a follow up email & never heard a single thing ever since. Also ******** never emailed me proof of cancellation that I asked for twice now. Castlegate Properties really doesnt care at all about youthey just want your money. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE & APPLY ELSEWHERE and steer clear from Castlegate Property Group.

This has been the absolute worst place Ive stayed in my life. Do not waste your money or your time here. The units are poorly kept. To start off, when I moved in there wasnt a lock/door k*** on the door and my mailbox key didnt work. I was met with attitude when I said something to the the lady working in the office. The lights on the building I stayed in were off. At night, it would be pitch black. I asked the lady in the front office if there was something that could be done. She said they have no control over it. Not to mention, I took a few falls down and up the stairs since I couldnt see in the dark. Whenever I put in maintenance requests they took days to weeks to come to out fix anything and most of the time, the issue was still not fixed. My shower head and faucets were leaking rust. It wasnt fixed. When I did a walk through to turn my keys in, I let them know again. They told me it was because my water heater needed to be replaced. Why wasnt it replaced when I said something and put in a ticket the first time? Horrible and a safety hazard. My dishwasher and garbage disposal were both in horrible condition. The water kept filling up to the top and leaking out of the dishwasher too. They didnt fix it for about 2 weeks. that created an odor and it was hard to use my basic appliances. The bathroom is falling apart. The cabinets would fall off and they were half way fixed when requests to fix them were made. The drawers were the same way. They would fall through into the inside of the cabinet. These incidents have happened multiple times. The shower started to peel because of the dripping rust. I asked them to fix it and they never did, I put in multiple requests. Living here has been a nightmare and the property staff hasnt made it any easier. Everyone has been unprofessional and given me different information. This has caused so much confusion and inconvenience. Fast forward to me ending my lease. I was given four different amounts owed by four differe

Man oh man! Where do I start? I live at the oxford apartments. When I first moved in, everything was good. Covid happened and it went down from there. I have been battling roaches since we moved in. My son was getting sick every month. Multiple trips to the ** for respiratory issues. We went to get him tested he was allergic to roaches. I had a letter from the dr stating out carpet needs to be pulled, but they couldn't because there wasn't another apartment and they would have to charge me more money. My son kept getting sick. There has been mold growing out of master bathroom and I got sick. All they did was paint over it. Lately the roaches have gotten worse. They have been crawling out of my brand new microwave and my fridge. They put traps down and that's it. I had to throw away food because of them in my fridge. I threw away my brand new microwave because there have been so many coming out of it. I call and call and no one answers. It's ******* me off. My son has been on breathing treatment for the last week every 4 hrs because he had contact with roaches in his shower. Over it! Breaking my lease and I'm not worried about penalties right now. My sons health comes first.

I lived at ******************* for a year. The communication was very poor and staff was unprofessional. Three months prior to my move out date I wrote a letter requesting to transfer to another apartment because I could not afford to pay the day by day cost which is what my other option would have been if I didnt want to renew the lease. I chased and begged and exhausted myself going back and forth to the office, calling, sending emails with little to no response. The last I heard was Corporate was going to have to approve my transfer because my credit wasnt standard. I wasnt able to reach Corporate either. If my credit wasnt good enough they could have told me no then. It shouldnt take months to decide if you want a family to transfer even if the credit is not the best. I tried reaching these people all the way up until my lease end date still with no communication from them. My back was against the wall no one would talk to me I had no answers, I was frustrated, I was depressed not knowing if I would be able to find my kids and I a place to live on such short notice. I felt I had no choice on the day my lease ended I moved out because I was left with a pending transfer and I was not interested in renewing the lease or the day to day pay. Once I turned in the keys I finally get a response that says I was changed over to day to day pay because I did not turn in a letter to move out on end of lease date well of course not because I was waiting on a transfer that didnt happen before my move out date with no clear communication. I paid for the entire month but only stayed for 8 days because my lease was up but I was declined the prorated amount for the month The guy from Corporate tells me we dont put people out while waiting for transfers. My response was its a bit late to want to tell me that now. When I needed communication from them I got nothing. They really need to change. I dont think that was fair at all. KARMA IS REAL

I have experienced what I feel to be unethical practices implemented by Bartlett Crossing Apartments. They are constantly threatening miscellaneous fines and even charged my brother with special needs an extra $150 on his April rent because they could not figure out who was clogging up the septic line from the building he resides in. They have also sometimes violated the "Landlord and Tenant Act" by not repairing things in his home as requested. We waited 6 months for them to repair the bathroom floor of his apartment and finally had to resort to having an outside source take care of the matter. My brother has an agency that provides caregivers that come into his home to take care of him, and they now have to fear if their cars will be towed because Bartlett Crossing maliciously has a towing service removing people's cars even with parking decals visible in their windows. On top of that, there has been a rash of car robberies and vandalism occurring throughout the complex for some weeks now. They can pay a tow truck to terrorize tenants but not provide security measures to protect their tenants. It is not right to treat paying tenants in this manner furthermore my brother needs his caregivers, and they need their cars not to be towed and vandalized.

Ive only been here for a month , due to my situation and needing my oldest to be in a certain school district and the shortage of 3 bedroom apts in the area and losing app fees on houses this was my last resort . I was always hesitant case of the application fee and the admin fee of $200 .. but I got into the apartment within two weeks of getting an approval email from them. ****** and ****** come off very nice ******* seems a little new and doesnt know much you can tell hes on the lower level and ****** comes off nice even talks about her health issues she faced, but once youre in and they have your money thats it dont expect to hear from them unless your past due on your rent. Ive had a leak in my tub since Ive been here that they were aware of and still havent fixed ,within a couple of days I had sent an email of the things that I noticed that needed to be fix that you dont find out till you actually live in the apartment . None of those things have gotten fixed. I was told that something was wrong with my breaker box when my hot water went out then we did not have hot water for a week . I called I emailed nobody came ****** lied and said someone came and my ring doorbell showed nothing . You have to stay on management in order to get something fixed please read the reviews this is not a good place to stay and you might as well get your own handyman if something goes wrong in your apartment but the price of these apartments we should not have to go through this. First communities corporate is no help at all either I have called I have left messages nobody answers and nobody responds back at this point I probably need to go to their office but I dont know if theyre open.I dont know if residents are throwing their trash away but the apartments are filthy the stairwells are disgusting I have to sweep my own stairwell. They do get the grass cut every week but then the trash just gets blown everywhere. I had to put my own weatherstrips down on my door

I have ask for a lock change, pest control, a tub due to just painted over. I return homes at times items missing or damaged. Comparison on rental price among other residence are less than a studio. The studio is not completed as built as far as kitchen and bathroom. Tears in floor I don't have a lot of energy to bend and cut floors. Water stays cold for weeks and hot water, you never know when you might have some to clean properly. Light bill is outrageous with no meter. Your paying for the property renovations instead of the owner paying for their own upgrades the working poor is suffering.
