DO NOT BUY from David Weekley! Here are the 10 things that went wrong.
      1. Weekley lacks integrity and does not put their customers first!
      2. Prior to signing the contract we voiced concerns about value and were reassured that an Appraisal would include surrounding areas. Come to find out this was inaccurate and misleading in values and neighborhoods being used as they were not of like kind and not in neighborhood. Non Builder Appraiser stated it's required to use 4 like kind in the neighborhood which they didn't do.
      3. Both meetings with Builder Lead were a complete waste of time. No changes incorporated from the 1st meeting or 2nd meeting. We actually found his notes days later on the floor in the house. He was more worried about telling stories than getting the job done.
      4. We researched home prices in the area and continued to question value and shared concerns again. Weekley offered us a $50K discount with no rationale. We kept watching homes (quick move-ins) continue to reduce prices, increase incentives and not sell.
      5. Prices expressed in public records show pricing SOLD for vacant and non sold homes have now been recorded as sold in ranges of $1.1M plus and the homes are not sold and are in construction. (Misrepresentation to public)
      6. The exact same model across the street (unsold) miraculously caught up to our homes stage even though it started several months after ours. It is listed far less with incentives and price reductions.
      7. Weekly updates were sporadic at best
      8. Other builders in area and real estate agents believe these homes are extremely overpriced
      9. We heard that David Weekley discounted a home by $250k to save a deal, they denied it. I don't think it is a coincidence that when we shared we were backing out of the deal they offered us $250K off our price.
      10. We were told we couldn't make changes to finishes when we signed the contract as they were already ordered. 1 month from closing notified main flooring was out of stock.

We regret that fact that Sarah was not comfortable with the purchase of our home. We did enter into a contract with her in good faith that she would close and assume she thought it was a fair price since she and her husband agreed to pay our asking price for the construction of this home. Certainly, the market did change during the construction process and she became uncomfortable with her home’s price. We did try to work with her and offer her a discount, but she wanted dramatically more than what we were willing to offer. We did follow the contract and the contract is clear that her earnest money is at risk if she did not close on the home we built for her. She outlined a lot of reasons why she was uncomfortable moving forward, which we understand, but that does not mean she can cancel her contract to get her money back. We did get a market analysis done through an appraiser to provide her with 3rd party data that would help her feel more comfortable with the price of the home. We offered her a price lower than that analysis, which she did not agree with. We built her a beautiful home and would have loved for her to complete her purchase.

This Home Builder is absolutely terrible. I spoke to a manager named Josh and he was terrible. They don’t care about you as a customer at all. All they care about is profits and don’t care about the quality of work at all. PLEASE DO NOT EVER USE THEM.

I bought a spec home with a 25K deposit in Oct of 2021 which I was assured would be completed by March 2022. Told the sales person several times if the home was not finished by then I did not want it. By January most of the job was 90% completed but there were several construction flaws aka crooked ceilings ,damaged woodwork, damaged cabinets, etc. I pleaded with the Weekley agent to let me out of the contract because I could see where this was heading.
Didn't hear from them for weeks and nothing was moving forward. Here we are in Aug and I was supposed to close on Aug 5th even though some things were still patch jobs that should be replaced. Needless to say I am out 25K in spite of holding up my end of the bargain.

DO NOT buy from David weekly. They are very deceptive. They work with their own lender to add more charges and wait until close to closing date, so that you end up paying whatever they charge you. DO not buy from them. You will lose money. Worst experience Ever.

We reviewed this transaction and spoke to the customer; we confirmed that all closing cost credits were applied per the contract. We encouraged the customer to speak to their real estate agent regarding promises made by their agent, who is not affiliated with David Weekley Homes.
