I have paid Centerpoint in Full $75.00 but it is still reporting negatively to the credit bureaus. At the time I provided Centerpoint with my move address, I wasn't aware of this bill until it was reported to the bureaus and this has significantly impacted my credit over the years.CENTERPOINT Other Loan Past due: $0 Derogatory: ChargeOff Your creditor has written-off this debt as uncollectible but may have sold it to a collections agency.

I have been in contact with CenterPoint Energy since 10/30/24 to establish service. I paid the deposit of $150.00 on 10/30 and they came to my residence on 10/31. They advised they could not install my meter or connect service and would need a crew to come straight their gas line. I called on 11/4 to see when they would be out to fix the line and was told I would receive an email in 24 hours. I called 11/5 and was told the same. On 11/7 I was told 5-7 days field service would contact me. On 11/14 I was told my service showed active and meter was installed and would get a call back. On 11/25 I was told theyd be out that day. . They did not call or show up. I was then told they would be here 11/27. Again no call no show. I was told theyd be here 12/2, again no call no show. I am waiting yet again for someone to call me back and/or a tech to show up.

Thank you for reaching out to CenterPoint Energy. We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with having the gas service turned on. In review of the address, there needed to be a new install of service due to a previous retirement at that location. Unfortunately, the agents you spoke with through **************** created incorrect orders when they needed to go through the field. A field technician was on site last week and he created the correct order that was needed. The gas was installed and turned on 12/11/24.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at **************.

I am the victim of identity theft and I found a CenterPoint Energy utilities account on my credit report that was opened fraudulently and without my knowledge. I called and inquired what information would be needed for them to remove this from my credit report. I was told they would send me the information needed but they never did. Between October 23rd and November 7th I called multiple times and spent hours requesting this information, but it was not sent. Finally on November 7th it was sent but an address or email to send the info back was not provided. Between November 7th and November 14th I called and emailed multiple times requesting where to send this info but it was not provided. CenterPoint Energy also told me I would have to provide my SSN and an affidavit saying that I would have to comply with any law enforcement investigation in order to remove this from my credit report. This is unlawful and not in accordance with section 623(a) (1) (B) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15U.S.C. 1681s-2 (a) (1) (B).

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I doubt I would have gotten any further with this business without this complaint.  Instead, after 6 weeks of getting nowhere it was resolved within two businesses days after filing my BBB complaint. Thank you for giving consumers a voice and helping them advocate for themselves.

In August of 2024 I called CenterPoint because I received a bill for $323.40. I went to pay this bill online and it said I owed $0. I called to see what the issue was and was told that in the merging with Texas that they would need to reprint my bill and that was not the total I owed. I was told to not pay anything online and wait a couple weeks and to call back if it was not fixed. fast forward to Aug 29 I looked online and it now showed I owed $742.00. My bill had NEVER been that high, so I called to inquire. I was then assured that it was a billing error and billing specialist would have to manually fix it and that it would take a couple of weeks. I verified 3 times that the amount I did owe was $364.11. To which I paid. I was told that after making that payment I would be able to see it online corrected within a couple of weeks. It has not been corrected since and they never sent me a sept bill. I have called again and was told mid sept to NOT pay and totals because my account still needed to be corrected. Come 10/2 I called because the balance continued to increase, and I was told it was because I never paid the remainder of the $742 I was told I did NOT owe. When I explained that they told me that they then still needed to fix it and I did NOT need to pay anything and to hold off that it would then be fixed in a couple of weeks, again. Since 10/2they have reprinted my bill 5 times, and sent me late fees and disconnect notices, when I have been told NOT to pay it. All bills were printed in a 3 day span. When asked to talk to a supervisor I am told they cant transfer me I have to wait for a call back with in ***** hrs and I wont know when they are calling. My Current bill is now $960.00

Thank you for reaching out to CenterPoint Energy. In review of your account, we do show that the most recent bill you received was the corrected billing statement. We sincerely apologize for the delay in the correction being made to your account and any misinformation you were given. We show that a supervisor was able to reach out to you and discuss your account on 11/7/24; the supervisor advised she would email you the breakdown of the bill. The late payment fees were removed from your account and your account is active on a payment arrangement.

Center Point dropped off an electrical Pole 3 + years ago on the sidewalk outside my home on the corner of Post Oak Ln and N West Oak dr .
It killed all my ground cover from the toxic pole and obstructs the sidewalk .
It is unsightly and now a place for the homeless to sleep next to my fence area.
It is disturbing and Center Point needs to remove it !
I hope this helps because now I am a frightened homeowner due to the negligence of Center Point forgetting this Pole they dropped off 3+ years ago.
Thank you for your Help . !!

last week, my natural gas was turned off without any notice. No mail no email no call. No text after payment. It was turned on October 19. The technician would not go in the attic to turn on the heater. My wife crawled up there hurt herself and then the process, dislodged a corroded valve there was a water leak overnight fortunately 99% of it went outside the house, but there was some damage in the closet where the attic is. There was water coming up from the floor. Woodlands water restoration came surveyed the area. Fortunately, there was only small damage to sheet rock in the closet. They had to remove sheet rock disinfect an air dry then had a plumber. Come to turn on the heater and fix the valve. I called Centerpoint. They told me to go online to file a claim. I tried several times. Their website was down. The whole incident cost me around $1800 besides the injury to my wife. I wont answers to why this happened. Unfortunately Centerpoint is the only natural gas provider for the ********************. Otherwise, I would have Service moved.

Thank you for allowing us to address your concern. We did learn that the employee did not have safe access to the meter, which is required by the customer. Employees (including contractors) are not required to work in unsafe conditions, and it is the customers responsibility to grant access in a reasonable manner. We have forwarded your information to our ***************** for assistance. Regarding billing, our records indicate a pink disconnect notice was mailed on 9/30/24 with a due date of 10/15/24. We have added a bill-reminder to the account for your convenience. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Someone not associated with me or the *** of Soleil apartment complex damaged/ruined/cut the gas line to my condo. Centerpoint Energy has known about the outage since 10/9/2024. I have called every other business day to get this fixed. I have no hot water or heat for almost a month. They can't tell me anything. They won't fix anything. All they say is that someone will call me back. They don't. **************** is a joke. ************* is a joke. They keep charging me for "gas" when I am using none as they have me shut off. October 15th, I called center point energy to start service, sometime that day I received a call from my landlord, she informed me gas services weren't needed at my address because the house was all electric. I then called center point energy to close my account and to receive a refund on the 100 dollar deposit I had just paid and they refused to refund my money.
