Incident:October 25 2024 -Caliber Collision took possession of my vehicle to make repairs after being hit by a drunk driver. -Vehicle was towed and work began. I received a text from an employee stating that my aftermarket audio system was draining the battery.-After the weekend I went to remove audio system from power.-I met and received my keys. I was alerted vehicle had no battery in it. -I approached the vehicle and observed wires hanging out of the door. My audio system was gone and the vehicle was ransacked. -All of the doors were left unlocked and my locked center console was pried open. -I went back to the building and asked them where it was. They said they would replace it. -I called the police and waited 2 1/2 hours and no one from Caliber came to see the extent of damage or make contact with me. -Manager said he would try to see if they could replace it and pushed it off. -Police officer asked if they could review the camera footage and the manager brushed it off. -They told me to make a claim on my own insurance. They have not tried to make anything right and I am not only disappointed but disgusted. They had my vehicle in their care and allowed it to be broken into and will not do anything to correct the situation. All of my attempts have been unsuccessful and I need help.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I have received this general response multiple times and have provided the information requested but it never goes further.
This has gone on for months with the first email being sent on 10/28/2024 to ***** ***** (member of the executive team) with no response given. The email was just forwarded to the local manager that had already denied helping the situation. I was then given phone numbers that led to dead ends.
The first BBB complaint was filled in November. Another email was sent on 12/31 with no response. Eight days later I resent the message and finally received a response that it would be forwarded to the Gainesville branch manager, ****** ***, who once again, did not respond or reach out.Business Response

My ********** Atlas ***** was towed to their location on 12/23/24 in which I received a call and was asked to sign authorization to begin work on my vehicle. On 12/27/24 I called to see if I could get an update or find out what exactly was going to be worked on. When I spoke with Malachi he told me they had not yet received my authorization to begin work when I signed on 12/23. He then "found it" and said they would begin to look at the vehicle and they would "let me know" when it was nearing completion through text and a phone call. The expected completion date on the text was 01/03/25. Monday (12/30/24) at 9:33am I received a text of expected completion date of 01/03/25, when I called that day at 1:54pm, Malachi informed me that my car was near completion and that I MAY receive a message the next day that my car was going to be ready but to wait to receive a call on my car being ready. Tuesday 12/31 when I CALLED at 10:10am I was told that my car was still being worked on and that I would receive a text but it did not look like it would be done that day (Tuesday 12/31) and would more than likely be done Thursday or Friday of that week (01/02 or 01/03). I also received a text message that day at 9:13AM that my vehicle was on track to be completed on 01/03/25. Thursday 01/02 At 2:01pm received information that my car would be ready Friday (01/03) after 2pm if "all went well to pass alignment" then I would receive a call either way. Friday 01/03/25 When I called at I was informed that my car in fact DID NOT pass alignment and would now not be ready until WEDNESDAY 01/08/25, but he would do his best to have it ready by Tuesday before 5pm. Tuesday, 01/08/25, Malachi called me and told me they received the parts from ********** and would be ready tomorrow (Wednesday 01/08/25) and that he would call me at the end of the day. When I called this morning at 11:36 AM, Malachi informed me that it was not going to be ready today and was looking like it will be Friday (01/10)Business Response

I was released my vehicle on 1/15/25. ******* informed me that the car was still needing parts and they were on back order. He would release my car back to me and advised that it was safe to drive until the part came in. I signed a waiver to release the vehicle in case of any type of injury etc. On 2/13/25 I took my vehicle to the dealership to be further inspected since no one from caliber had contacted me yet. North Park ********** informed me that the vehicle is unsafe to drive and would need to be towed back to Caliber so they can complete and put me into a rental. I called Caliber today (2-14-25) and they told me they would call me back on Monday.

GM has spoken to the guest, and she is good. There was a back ordered rear cradle on this vehicle and alignment was a bit off on the left rear. She was informed the part was on back order with no ETA and she agreed to pick up as long as she test drove the vehicle and felt it was safe to drive.

On November 10th, 2024 my wife was hit a deer and we filed an insurance claim through our insurance company Travelers. They recommended Caliber Collision in ******, ** as they are a direct repair partner. The vehicle was dropped off Friday November 15th for repair. Was told the repairs would be completed by the following Friday. Thursday the 21st I received a message stating there was a delay, I called and they said they realized that they are unable to repair the door and it needs to be replaced. Subsequently each of the following next 2 Thursdays I received a similar message. Finally on Thursday December 12th I received a call stating that they would be done the following day however they ordered the incorrect grill and would need to order a new one. They said I could pick the vehicle up and I would have to bring it back for them to change replace the grill. Friday the 13th I returned to pick-up the vehicle, found they had scratched the passenger side fender and scuffed the new bumper on the driver side when installing in addition the driver side door was not properly installed and they broke a trim piece on the door, the bumper was not properly attached to the frame, fog lights no longer worked and not having the correct grill. I dropped the vehicle off second time on Tuesday December 24th for a second time, returned to pick it up yesterday and the bumper was still not properly connected to the frame and the door was still not adjusted. They had my children and myself sit in the lobby while they attempted to fix what they said had already been done. After leaving the repair shop for a second time the door is still not properly aligned and wind and cold air can still be felt. Called the shop back and they said it was repaired but they were attempting to reach Travelers about using a used bracket to repair the brand new door they just installed.Business Response

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the subpar paint job completed by Caliber Collision at their ******** ******* location. My vehicle's hood has paint flaking off and visible white spots, indicating the work was not properly finished. Additionally, resin was left on the drivers side of the car, and there are noticeable paint swirls from the work performed.I have attempted to contact Caliber Collision via their website and email regarding this issue and the warranty coverage, but I have not received any response. This lack of communication and failure to address the issue is highly disappointing.Given the poor quality of work at the ******************************* location, I am requesting the repairs be corrected at the ********* location, where the quality of work is significantly better based on my past experiences.I am asking Caliber Collision to honor their warranty, complete the repairs properly, and address the issues outlined above in a timely manner. I believe that this business is fraudulently misqouting insurance companies, in an effort to move vehicles out of rotation and off their lot. Our family recently had a vehicle quoted for $10,000.00 worth of damage (quoted by Caliber), who wanted the car totaled-out. When we refused through our insurance, they began charging us additional [daily] fees until we moved the vehicle from the lot. When we drove the vehicle to another body shop/collision center, they quoted us $2,500.00 for the same repairs/service quoted by Caliber. When we asked Caliber to provide a breakdown of an estimate of cost, they were unable to-do-so. When we pressed our insurance provider to acquire this information on our behalf, the estimate they provided was mis-quoted and was missing dollar figure amounts for estimated services. Those services that were listed had costs inflated, likely in an effort to defraud our insurance provider. It absolutely should be investigated if Caliber is actually a reputable collision center - or if they're simply in the business of totaling-out fixable cars...to the benefit of themselves and resellers.Business Response

I was rear ended by a teenager 2.5 years ago. I was assigned Caliber Collision of ******, **. My ******************************************************************************************** the bottom of the trunk. My van has been the the following shops, ******, **, *********, **, and **************, **. In the 2.5 years, my van has never been repaired. My van has been in and out of the shop more than 5 times. The last time, someone forgot to place the rubber gaskets back into the bottom of the trunk. My vehicle is depreciating. I don't know what to do and am mentally at my ***** end. My van has lost value, I have lost time dropping off the vehicle and getting rentals, and I've had to pay countless babysitters while I take the van back in for repair. Why is it not repaired? Can Caliber Collision go back to the insurance company and tell them it is not fixable? I cannot go on like this.Business Response

After becoming involved in an Accident dated May 25, 2024 where my Car was side-swiped I went online and Contacted Caliber Collision Auto Body Shop to Repair my 2021 ****** Maxima 40th Anniversary addition. The whole Left Driver side had Body damage from front to back, including thee left front ************ Right Rear Wheel (Rims) According to their records they did an Damage Estimate on April 3rd, 2024 and I am not certain when work had began, but was under thee assumption that they would keep me informed as to updates. I was called and told my Car was ready for pick-up. Once arriving at their place of Business I had to wait as they brought the Car out of Storage area and began a walk through observing the repair work that had been done, and while I took interests in the detail of the Body work which had been done I began to notice that thee Tires/Rims on thee leftside were Shinny and New and blended in with the color as thee Car which was the Color Gray, and that wasnot the way it was supposed to be returned to me, and as I went to view thee otherside of the Car, that side had thee original Black rims that came with the Vehicle. I didnot put up a fuse, nor did I create a scene, but I was dismayed over the fact that they Called Me and told Mer my Vehicle was done, and this clearly wasnot a finished product. So I placed phone calls continuously and essentially was given thee run around, or that the Gm would call me back. Well things evolved to the point that out of frustration that I placed a review on ******, and once they seen that they were none to happy, and further on was contacted by a ****** ****** and told they are working with a Vendor on this problem. But this should have NEVER taken place before my Car left their facility without them having this issue resolved. And so for thee longest time I drove My New 2021 ****** Maxim around town looking like that of a Clown Car wit Black Rims on the Rightside of the Car and Gray Rims on the leftside. To Whom it May Concern: I ******* M. ******** opened this Complaint ( ******** ) with thee full intent of seeking a Firm & Just resolution being that I had initially placed My at the time recently damaged Vehicle in the possession of a Company I suspected was a Trusted Professional in the business of repairing my damaged Auto. Now filing such a Complaint is something I am not used to, and by filing such I was unfortunately waiting on a response from the BBB or Caliber Collision, little did I know that everything is essentially handled through thee BBB's Business Website, and seeing as I found this out and that actually happened when out of curiosity I recently Contacted the BBB by phone and was informed that my Case was being or has been handled by the Texas BBB. I also learn through this information that somebody from Caliber Collision wrote that they were interested in looking into this matter but left no name forme to address. By No means I was I going to submit a Complaint to you folks and unfortunately allow that Complaint to just vanish into thin air. They took possession of my damaged 2021 ****** Maxim and by all means was I expecting as Professionally a job by Caliber Collision as possible, and for thee Amount of Cost of which my ***************** paid out roughly $10,000.00 You can bet I was looking for an Excellent Professional Detailed Job! And when they called Me telling Me My Car was ready, they knew that my Car had different Colored Rims on the Repaired side of the Vehicle as My Car has Black rims and they replaced them with Gray rims, and I've driven around with Black rims on one side & Gray on the other giving my Car thee appearance of a Clown car. And that simply is NOT acceptable. Again they received $10,000.00 they should have been forthcoming way before now, but thee ****************** Ofc. of Caliber Collision was not interested in being Professional, giving me the runaround on several occasions, and when I would call to speak with their Mgr. or Gm in charge, they were always on the phone and would NEVER call me back. It got to the point of Me finally placing a review on ******, and then I finally heard from somebody, but all they had interest in was to Chastise me for going to ****** and Complain, but they never had thoughts of fixing this situation and so after sometime and measured thoughts I was able to Contact the BBB for a solution to my Heartache and Angst. All I ever wanted was my Car to be the way I had hoped it would when I had them Repair it!
I am submitting a Copy of a Set of Rims I have located with a picture of what the Rims look like, and their Cost but these are not "Brand New" Rims, but they are Reconditioned and Painted to match the Color of the Set that Caliber Collision put on repaired side. The Cost per Rim is $360.95 and the Sales Tax is about $45.00 for a Total of $766.00. Now if these Rims were being purchased at a dealership, I've actually priced these same Rims for roughly $ ****** dollars a piece, and I'm certainly not asking for a New Set, But I am asking that I be funded for the Rims that should have been on My Vehicle when Caliber Collision announced to Me that My Vehicle was ready for Pick-Up! Meaning that it was Done, when in fact it surely wasn't.

I would be Satisfied in this Situation if I can be funded to purchase (2) Aftermarket Rims which Cost much less than the Brand New Rims, and the Shipper could have them Shipped with in Two Business days. Again Cost per Rims $360.95 + Sales Tax of about $45.00 for a Total of $766.95

As I pondered Relevant Information for you to discover and examine in this Complaint & Investigation, I'm of the mindset that Any and All Information I provide to you will actually show the harm which has come to me in this situation. Now... I'm of the belief that You pay for what you get, and in Business if you're paying to have Repairs done as a Customer Or Consumer You should have a Right to demand that things are done right and to your satisfaction, and in this case It was not. It actually seems to me that in a way it's as though I was sucker punched! Now imagine if you will ( IF... I were ) And I'm not ( Color-Blind ) and this happened, there's No way that they would admit fault and would carry on as though Nothing happened, and I would simply think and believe that they did such a Wonderful Job, but that's simply not the case here.
Here I am Attaching Copies of their Initial ESTIMATE, and this is just a Copy of the Area involved my ( WHEELS/RIMS ) and i highlighted for you thee Estimate figure of My Wheels as they pertain to Size, Shape & Color and you'll know that everything was exact except for the color, and on their Estimate you see clear as day that they have it listed as BLACK, and my question to ALL WHOM MAY BE CONCERNED..... HOW DOES IT GO FROM BLACK ON THE ESTIMATE TO GRAY ON THE CAR TO CALLING THE CUSTOMER AND TELLING HIM OR HER THEIR CAR IS READY FOR PICK-UP. And I bring this to your attention because this is simply not right, it's Unprofessional and Classless and I am asking that this situation be righted.

I had filed a refile opening with the BBB because I had some misunderstanding regarding my Case, and I did just that and when I refiled my Case I was told to contact my Case Worker regarding the Status, and I did just that only to have my Case Worker Ignore my Phone Calls, and Me even leaving a detailed message with my return Phone number and Email address attached. Now if this person isn't handling my Case right One has to IMAGINE IF THEY ARE DOING THEE SAME ACTIONS to other Complainants. I wonder is it to late to have a different Case Worker handle my Complaint, because I am Very Dismayed by the actions of this Case Worker, and her Name escapes me, but She was assigned to my Case recently

All of My documentation pretty much reflex my dealings with those individuals at thee Merchant St Location and it really puzzles me how the perception of another or any other Location could have been interpreted, when all along my actual Complaint has been about thee Merchant St. Location.
I Thank You and Appreciate Your Complete Attention to this matter!

I've never had any major issues using this company in the past. This time it is just not getting resolved and the run around has been terrible. We had repairs done to a vehicle this year, around July/August timeframe. During the repairs they damaged the *** sticker under the windshield. They have promised to replace the sticker as well as the new windshield when it gets fixed again. I have had to call repeatedly when they have told me they would call me every week with an update. They have switched the service ****** twice, so we are now on our third ****** that keeps telling us the same thing. Basically, Caliber keeps saying that the *** sticker isn't in and that ********* ****** can't get it from ***** (******). But, Caliber keeps telling me they are trying and will call me weekly with an update. Meanwhile, I have other repairs that still need to be completed but can't until this issue is resolved to avoid even further damage or extra repairs. It's been since the end of July and still no sticker or even at ***. Really frustrating to not close out repairs when they been paid for everything as well. I did get a letter about the *** to use if an issue ever comes up, but would really just like the new *** put on the car and the windshield reinstalled or new one if they break this windshield. I can then close out this part and move on to the next repairs.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: we are trying to keep lines of communication open with the company. The company reached out and asked us what caliber location. We are working with:
Caliber Collision
********************
Centennial, CO 80112
I have gone through 2 other leads on my issue and, at this point, don't really remember the name of the new lead. I originally worked with ***** who left and then **** who left.
Thanks for the reach out. I hope this information helps get things fixed.

The Centennial - Hinsdale Cir location has been notified of complaint and will be reaching out to the customer with a resolution.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I am still keeping lines of communication open. Hinsdale did contact me a few weeks ago (the first week after they said they would call weekly) and said they keep calling ********* ****** for the *** update and all they keep hearing is no ETA. At this point, don't know really what to do anymore. I do know if I try to sell the car in the future this can and probably will be a problem. I'm not anticipating a sale, but do have other work that needs to be done, but I want the *** replaced first so the new work doesn't get destroyed. Should I do a BBB complaint for ********* ****** because they can't seem to get the ***? I feel like express mail from ***** would have already happened by now, especially 6+ months after the original problem when caliber tore up the windshield ***. Any other suggestions are welcomed at this time as well
