      I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla. In 2017 the paint started failing on the roof. I brought it back to the dealer to ask about it and they told me they don't deal with paint. It was pealing and flaking off so bad it was embarrassing to drive and was evident if something was not done it would be bare metal. I took it to a body shop and had it painted. A few months later the paint started failing on the hood and the trunk. Once again I had it repainted in the new areas. Total out of pocket was over $5,000. In 2019 I received a recall letter from Toyota describing my exact problem and stated that if customers had the vehicle repainted prior they will be reimbursed. I have been dealing with Toyota Customer Experience for 3 years and submitted all paperwork and pictures I have from the repair facility only to be denied reimbursement. I just had the car painted a third time in different areas, this time by a Toyota collision center, because it was approved. The previous two times the problem was not known to the public. I always felt that Toyota was a brand you can trust. I don't feel that way anymore. Toyota has lost my respect. I am the owner of two Toyota vehicles but will never purchase another Toyota vehicle ever again.
