On May 23rd, 2025, I was planning to start two agreements with this store. I was asked for my card number and charged the amount of $305.05 for both agreements combined. I called the store on May 24th, 2025 to confirm my delivery for washer and dryer as well as a sectional. An employee answered and advised me that we could not move forward due to income verification. I stated that I understood that we could not move forward meaning I would not receive the items I paid for. I was told by store Employee ***** that I would possibly receive a refund of $305.05 back in cash instead of being sent back to my card ending in 4725. ***** stated that my refund of $305.05 will be sent back to my card ending in 4725. It is now June 5th, 2025 and I have not received my refund. Every time I call they give timeframes, the first was 3-5 business days, then 7-10 business days, then I have to wait for the manager to come in the store, there is no money in the drawer. I should not have been asked for my card information before all the necessary steps were taken and documentation was verified.

There was an extra charge on my account, after I paid for my furniture in full. I saw there was a charge for six dollars by Rent-A-Center. I called an ex with the charger was regarding. They said it was that I joined aclub. I said I never joined the club and how do I get a refund? She told me that somebody called me back the district manager 24 to 48 hours. I waited the first phone call I made was on May 12 the second phone call I made was on May 17. I was toldby the young lady that she tried to get in contact with the district manager. He didnt answer his phone. She called ****, who was at store And he said he would help me with the refund that I just need to go to the store tomorrow, I went to the store next day I was told by **** that the six dollars was for Insurance for the furniture and just in case I lost my job Iwould be insured. I called BS on that and he told me that if there was an issue with my furniture, they wouldve came out and at it. I said I called you guys about a year and a half ago. I had an issue with the furniture. It was put together wrongand I was told that nobody could help me. I called after I left the store and was told also by **** that I had to pay that six dollars and I called corporateagain after I left the store and was told I was not obligated to get that six dollars insurance. So then I called back on the May22. I was told that a representative should call me the day after memorial day I was still not called and I called today and I wastold I cant do nothing until I speak to a district manager. Its been a month already and they said unless the district manager calls me, I cant speak to nobody else, but he has not called me back in four weeks. I am rejecting this response because:   I was told by the corporate office that a district manager would be calling me, Since May 12, 2025, ONLY to find out there is no district manager. They have been lying to me and misleading me this whole time. How are you going to let a company do this to a hard working mother of 3 kids.

On 5/1/25 I called the store to put in an order for a Whirlpool Front load washer and dryer that I previously picked out on their online site. ****** was the salesman I spoke with. I asked him to go to my account and make note of the choice I'd made. Within minutes he said he had and made arrangements to have it delivered in 2 days. When delivery was made it wasn't what I ordered. The brought conventional sets, although new and in the box. I mentioned that I had mobility issues and this set is too low to the ground. I was told I could receive the ones I ordered although it would take a week or so. I made the decision that since a month was paid I'd keep the conventional set for 30 days but on the first of the coming month (June), they'd deliver my Whirlpool front loader and dryer. Well, I contacted them on the first and was told THEY felt the ones I had would be BETTER for my mobility. I still insisted on what I ordered. I was put on hold. ****** returned and stated he was only doing what he was told. I asked by whom. I'm the customer and the one who purchased the order. For a brief minute he continued his argument that he felt the set I had was better for me. I told him to cancel the for the Whirlpool sets and to retrieve the conventional sets ON THAT DAY. (Saturday 5/31/25) and I have text from them saying they would be out between 3-5p.m. No one showed. I called them on Monday and inquired why no one came. The stores manager assured me someone would be out today (again between 3-5p.m) because on tomorrow I would be charged another month. Again, no one showed.

So I **** ****** walked into the rent a center in Kingman Arizona looking to apply for the delivery job that they are hiring for. Well while I was there they had said something about an employee that now works there named ****** ***** which is my wifes ex and father of her child. Well while in this said store I had asked for the said job above and I was told by the manager that they would have to talk to the other employee ****** if he can put his differences aside after I had told the manager ******* that I would put my differences aside. Because I needed to get a job and make money to support my family and save my stuff that Im renting from them. Well a day or two passes by and I get a call from ******* stating that I cant get the said job because the other employee cant put his differences aside so I can continue to support his child that he doesnt support. So I would like to know if they are allowed to do this to me or if this is even allowed at all? As Im trying to get a job to support my family not start drama with the said guy. Im only there to make money and go home to my family.

So I have been renting from rent a center since 2022 started with a couch tv and game system together. This year I added a tablet and a tv. So for three months my payments keep getting higher and higher each month. So this month I go in the store and a tv and couch are still on my account after being paid off two months ago but they came it didnt go threw for some reason and would fix it it didnt accept pay off last month still wasnt showing paid and still showed up on my account once again so I pay my 450. And told they will fix it. So this month once again my payment was over 450 so have to go in the store again and once again tell them the couch and tv are still on my account. So they want 600 and something this month the store takes only the 450. Gives me owner ship papers for tv but not couch. ****** its paid for so I go to my account once more couch is still on there. So I call my store the manager not in so I call corporate they say its paid off but cant send or give me owner ship papers but removed it from my account. So I bring up my next issue. I notice my game system says I have 21 more payments when it was only 36 o begin with and I have been paying on game systems since 2022 or 2023 which is around 2 years a little ver which means my game systems should be almost paid off not having 21 more payments, which was the deal with my 65 inch tv I got it in April of 2025 I had 7 payments Ive paid 3 which should leave 4 payments left not 13. I told correct that they need to go back to when I started renting from rent a center and check 1 how my consoles needed up on some contract when 1 was on with couch and tv and one was on contract by its self. Then 2 find out how more time got added on to my account for my game systems and the same thing with my ******************************************************************************** for a liability waver fee when I pay ***** a month for insurance benefit pluse so why am I being charged a liability waver fe

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:   I feel the game consoles should be paid off as of this month considering we paid 3300 already on them way over the original agreement. So when we made the payment this month it should be our last one should get a ownership certificates now not pay a payment next month and then there paid off no they should be paid off now I feel any extra we have paid should go towards our account

Rent a center has refused to chance my due date even after I paid the amount to change my due date- I have asked to change it to the 1st of every month- they refuse and now show up to my house three to four times a week to harass me. The manager, **** appeared at my house today and peered into my back yard where myself and my young children were not fully dressed and in a vulnerable setting. He sat on my porch and argued with me and when told to leave he still lingered for 5 minutes just starting at my children causing them to be afraid. He used a rough tone with me and was talking loudly in front of my neighbors outside. I told him this is private property and he is trespassed and he still lingered. I am uncomfortable and now feel unsafe in my home because of this.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
