12/25 I had an item on **** at max it ****. On 1/27 which is one day after the first month maturity date I came to redeem my item on the ticket originally it said I have to pay $407.75 to redeem my item instead I was charged $450 38 to redeem my items supposedly because I was 2 days after the maturity date for the first month which to my understanding I should not have been charged that much. On the **** ticket it says that the monthly percentage rate will be 25%. However on the receipt it says the APR is ****** the loan amount is stated at 3:25 the financing charge is stated at $9.75 the service charge is $71.50 the setup charge is $1.50 an additional charge of $40.63 an affidavit fee of $2 for a total of $450.38 the cashier could not explain to me what these extra charges are because on the original **** receipt these charges are not mentionedBusiness Response

Received a text from a family member stating to contact JAA. It was a urgent and important matter with a reference number. *** supposably is a mitigation company for EZCORP EZ MONEY. So I called this place he stated they were located in ****************** and advised they are not debt collectors but wanted me to give agreement to paying back a loan from 2012 of $3500 , he had previous addresses, last 4 of my social, Bank name at the time and employer from that time frame. However, was unable to provide proof of this debt even though he argued up and down they have been trying to contact me for years and that I never responded. What made me furious was the fact they contacted a family member prior to me and telling them it was a urgent legal matter when once contacted they couldnt provide all the information of where it came from. I contacted the bank I had at the time they didn't find anything as I know I used services before but I knew I paid them back then again I was a college student at the time so who knows but j pay if its legit mine but no proof and then treating me with civil court to get the balance if nothing is agreed upon at the moment was insane especially for a debt if even mine from 13 years ago. Also, I contacted EZCORP she searched my name and social and she verbally stated nothing was popping up for me in her system and if so those loans had been forgiven if it was that old. I don't do well with accusations or fraudulent ways so I advised for him to call back today 3.4.25 so I can do my research and as I'm finding I am not the only person this is happening too.Business Response

I received a voicemail from an ************ phone number stating that their department has been retained to process and facilitate a civil complaint that names me as the respondent. The complaint is in pending status because I have the right to mediate first before the complaints are filed, and that I should contact the mediation department ************. If don't, I'll forfeit my mediation rights and the complaint would be forwarded to my local jurisdiction. I also found out that this same person had been calling my family members. I finally decided to call the number and was told I owed in the amount of $1382.32 from a payday I took out in 2017. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about and I didn't remember a loan from back then. She sent me an email from a company called *********************** and it states the lender is EZCorp EZ Money. I have never taken out a payday loan from this place nor have I ever even heard of it. I decided to do some research and found that numerous people have encountered the same thing. I've received 5 more calls after that of them trying to get me to make a payment arrangement or settle the debt. I believe this is a scam but I guess I won't fully know until I'm sued or receive court papers as they say would happen if I don't pay.Business Response

I went to the ************************************************************ location and purchase a ************* Neverfull special edition purse. The purse came with a receipt and was supposedly to be real. I purchased a ************************** and they stated that the purse is not real and it was 100% fake. I contacted the store manager by the name ***** and she stated that I need to provide the documents and the paperwork of the service and stated that I can get store credit and I do not want store credit I want the money back on my credit card and she refused to do so. She even hung up in our faces just because she don't want to take accountability for there own negligence on authentication of designers goods. On 9/18/2024 I put a ring on lay away w/ Ez Pawn w/ a down payment of $351.81 towards the total cost of $3,200 10/3/2024 I made a $325 payment on 11/14/2024 and saw my ring still on display with a 10% discount I spoke with a manager she said she would pull it out. On 11/27/2024 I returned to see my ring still on display w/ a 20% sale sign I informed them again that this was the ring I was purchasing and asked for a refund or exchange it for a ring of equal value of what I had already paid I was told I couldnt receive a refund and I would be charged a restocking fee of $320 if I chose to get a different ring for a ring that had never even been pulled off the floor. The lady offered me a 10% discount on the ring trying to rectify the situation. Bringing the total cost down to ******** I continued to proceed with making a payment of $304. On 12/27/2024 I made a payment of $490. Today 1/25/2025 I made a payment of $488.92. I noticed the numbers werent adding up to what the receipt said I owed being the total I have paid on the ring is $1884.74. So I asked for the manager she said my receipts were for two separate transactions and different rings and I showed her the receipts I had and item descriptions she then said I was refunded $250 on the 27th and I told her no they refused me a refund and I made another payment that day. She said the ring was dropped from layaway that day so I showed her the receipt she asked who helped me I described her she said no one like that works there. She then said my ring was dropped for a missed payment 11/11 when I had spoke to them on the phone and told them I would be there on the 14th to make a payment so it wasnt dropped on the 11th because the payment on the 14th falls under the same payment as my initial first purchase. I then asked for her name and business licensing information she refuse both and told me her coorperate phone number would be the only reference I would get I do have the entire interaction recordedBusiness Response

On December 4, 2024, I paid a $20 extension fee at EZPAWN, located at ************************************* managed by Mr. ******* This extended my **** loan period to December 24, 2024. According to Texas Pawnshop Law, I was entitled to an additional 30-day ***** period after the loan expiration, allowing me until January 27, 20**, to redeem my item. Despite being within this legally protected timeframe, my Titan Impact 440 paint sprayer, valued at $2,800 new and $2,300 in used condition, was sold on December 28, 2024.The premature sale of my item has caused significant financial harm to my business, *************************** Finishes, LLC, which officially launched on January 6, 20**. The Titan Impact 440 paint sprayer was essential for fulfilling contracts, and its loss resulted in missed opportunities, project delays, and loss of income. Despite my efforts to resolve the matter directly with the store manager, Mr. ******* I was met with dismissive and uncooperative behavior. He refused to provide a resolution or acknowledge my rights under Texas law. When I presented the documentation proving my compliance he refused. On January 15, 20**, I filed a police report (Case #**-00373) with the ***************************** Officer ********* confirmed that the issue was a civil matter. I am now escalating my complaint to ensure accountability for this violation of Texas Administrative Code Chapter 85 and Texas Finance Code Title 4, Subtitle B.I request a full reimbursement of $2,300 for the value of the item. Additionally, I ask for a formal investigation into the business practices at this EZPAWN location to prevent similar violations from occurring in the future. I am attaching supporting documentation, including my extension payment receipt, police report, and correspondence with EZPAWN.Thank you for your time and assistance in addressing this matter. My stepdad sent me a phone message he received from someone looking for me. They left a number and a reference number and said it was an urgent legal matter our of ************** where I live. I called the number and provided the reference number. I was placed on hold. A gentleman identifying himself as ***** ****** said he was reaching out on behalf of ******* in reference to a loan I defaulted on. I told him I did not know what company that was and did not have a loan with them, he said I was paying on the loan for 4 months and them stopped paying. When I told him that was not true he threatened me. He told me the company would come take my car (he knew the make and model of my car) and that they would seize my Navy Federal account and seize 2 other credit cards that I have. The more I questioned him the more upset he got and finally told me that when ******* takes my car I will not be able to call this mitigation company back to help me.Business Response

My ******** received voicemails stating that she owes a large sum of $ for a payday loan from 2013 with a company called EZ-Money. The person who called stated they were with ABA. When we asked what *** stood for we were told it stood for *******, ************************* by one of the *** in the call center (we could hear them laughing in the background). We were hung up on when we pressed for detailed information about the situation. We called back & again I asked what *** stood for. This time I was told that *** was the name of the company & that it didnt stand for anything. I ******d ******** ************************* and found that theyre located in *******, **. The number that called us was based out of ******, **. We called the Phoenix number & got the exact same person as the previous call. They are quick to let you know that youre going to be hauled in into court. They are also quick to let you know that it is not their job to provide you with any information concerning your situation, they are simply there to collect your money. Over a decade ago was in a bad place financially and my only option was a payday loan. The loan was repaid and when I no longer wanted to receive anymore funds they have continued to harass me and filing falsified documents to pressure me into paying a debt I dont owe.
