      This business is predatory. The hidden fees and small print rules and regs are a nightmare. I heard the woman in the next checkout booth to me sobbing and pleading with the customer service **** DO NOT RENT from this company!!! They are out to take advantage of you. You will ultimately not even save money and the cost of your emotional energy trying to keep them from ripping you off is intense.

      * car rentals near ***************** is a FRAUDULE*T place passing as a business. They also use a fraudulent thread through Priceline to get customers to book with ******* *OT DO IT! I know of at least 3 others besides myself who were scammed by this so called business. I witnessed 5 others go through the exact same thing I did when picking up my rental.They also double charge your credit card after you drop off the car that they didnt clean out after the last person used it.They upsell tired travelers with a line of complete LIES and tell you that the car you reserved is not available. All while youre standing there with your bags, your family, your children and youre in this horribly U*SAFE location where strung out homeless people are wandering in and out of the * building while they make you wait outside for your turn. DA*GEROUS. I was traveling alone a woman with my 10 yr old *********** was terrifying and they knew it they know they can get away with what they do because you just want to get out of there as fast as possible.They took forever picking you up in the shuttle which is located far from everything else and they do not have a working phone number. From start to finish no one at * ever answered the provided phone ********* fighting them charging my card twice with my credit card company to dispute the double charges. You will have no luck contacting *. *o phone number for this location will work. Even if you ****** a number you dont reach the ********* location- after holding for 23 minutes to talk to a human about the double charges on my card I was told they are not affiliated. I am here to warn anyone else who considers it bc its a good deal. DO *OT BOOK A CAR RE*TAL WITH * CAR RE*TAL OR PRICELI*E ***************** *********** very sorry I didnt ****** them before I went through all this bc I see on Reddit there are warnings about them. Thats why I came straight to the better business bureau. Praying this gets published.

      Never use Nu Car! Added a ton of costs that were not explained. Took advantage because we were rushed and I was an inexperienced traveler. Told me I didnt have to bring the car back full of gas because their gas was cheaper. Brought it back a little over half full but they charged me for a full tank. Booked through ******* and insurance was $90, but they charged over $250! Horrible and expensive ordeal!!!

      Nu car rental is a scam. Ended up paying 250 dollars after being quoted 85. Argued insurance, did not take out to car. Had to find it by beeping key fob. Dirty ...scratched duct tape on the windshield...went into a.request a different vehicle...was.refused. was stuck because it was off airport (said it was at airport) ....worst customer service ever. Never again and am spreading the word!

      Very shady and dishonest company. I pre-booked and was told that I could cancel anytime or simply not complete the booking and I wouldnt be charged any fees. The agreement they emailed me didnt mention any type of fee either. A few days before the booking I called them to ask some clarifying questions because of all the negative reviews I found on ****** about them. Many of the complaints were indeed confirmed by the representative, including a ridiculous $400 hold on your card for a rental ($200 more than the leading car rental company) and other hidden fees.The representative reminded me I could keep booking and just not show if I decided not to use them. I asked the representative to cancel the booking at that time, as a courtesy to them, and I said Id be going with another company without a doubt.Weeks after my booking date I noticed a charge from Nu Car on my account and I had to dispute the charge with my bank.

      Regret that I didn't check reviews before I booked with NU via Priceline. As I now see, I also fell prey to their Bait and Switch practices. I arrived at their counter before my 2 PM Reservation time but waited 30 minutes in line to be seen by the agent, only to be told that they did not have the class of car I had reserved available so would need to pay 66% MORE to get an Upgrade, otherwise I would just have to wait there until a car came in, which they estimated would be one hour. When I finally got a car it reeked of Canibas! The agent I dealt with was very unpleasant and had the attitude of Like it or Lump it. Never again!

      Can I give ZERO stars...gonna try. If it is a one star, it is only because zero was not an option. $60 extra dollars on site because they said my insurance didn't meet NC minimum, when, in fact, it was MORE than the minimum. The manager LIED to my credit card company when I reported the fraud. Very sketchy office when I got there; no live person on site, talked to someone remote thru a computer monitor..he not only scammed me, but applied my signature and initials to documents he did not let me read first. I was stuck, strange town, they already had about one hundred dollars of my money thru priceline, and no idea where else I could go...was off site from the airport, so couldn't just walk to another counter. In the shuttle on the way back to the airport afterwards, another lady told me she had a leaky tire the whole time and Nu car refused to fix the tire or replace the car; in fact, they told her she could, "buy a new tire if she wanted."Bottom line, rent from NU car in ********* at your peril...I know I never will again

      Unfortunately we only saw the reviews post our vacation, had we seen them before our booking we would have not proceeded. We could not agree more with the 100% negative reviews. It does not seem like a single review is positive. We had quite a negative experience as did all the other customers in the shop at the same time as us. Many hidden fees. They were very dishonest. They make up reasons to charge you that do not even make sense. They claim it's all in the fine print. I went back to check... it is NOT in the fine print. They insisted that we need to take insurance and quoted us a price. They took my insurance that I already had and then said that it doesn't cover everything so we still need to pay and the new price was even higher than the first quote. They then overheard my discussion with my spouse and claimed that I had intentions in disputing all the charges, and then cancelled my reservation. They sent us back to the airport on their shuttle. Thankfully we did not end up renting with them (because they refused to), and we got a normal rental with a mainstream rental company and had a very positive experience. When we returned the car no hidden charges were applied. We will be very diligent in the future to only use mainstream car rental companies and certainly not use nu. We don't typically write negative reviews however we will spread the word that this car rental should not be patronized!

      DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM HERE! The car rental process was a nightmare from start to finish! Our flight was delayed arriving in ********* by a couple hours, and when we arrived, we took the first shuttle from the airport to the rental car area, only to realize that Nu Car Rental is located offsite. While waiting for the 2nd shuttle with our two young, tired and hungry kids, we looked at our email from Hotwire, which stated that Nu Car Rental closes at 3pm. It was now after 7:00 p.m., and no one answered our calls. An airport car rental company that closes at 3pm and provides no customer service after hours?! We ended up having to book a car through another company for the night. The next day when we arrived at **, they told us they didnt have a standard SUV, which is what we had booked when we made our reservation. They informed us that they had a mini van, but it would be $200 more than what we had already paid. What?! We have never had to pay for an upgraded rental car when the company didnt have the car we had booked. After 45 minutes of waiting and negotiating with their rude, argumentative, slow employees, they agreed to charge us only $95 extra instead of $200. ****************************** the overpriced mini van we didnt want, exhausted and traumatized. The van was not in great shape, but it did the job. We reported the issues with the van to them as documentation. Returning the car went surprisingly smoothly, but we breathed a sigh of relief when the car was back on their lot and our interactions with Nu were finally over!! Our $300 deposit they hold was "released" within 48 hours, as promised, but I now have a charge for $22 from them. I didn't receive any communication about this charge. I have tried calling them 5 times, and I emailed them twice. No response. So I reported the charge as fraudulent, and my credit card company is dealing with it. But this is their business practice-- to overcharge and ******* at every opportunity.

      I WOULD GIVE THIS COMPANY ZERO RATING, The worst car rental service I have ever used. to begin you must take a shuttle from the to/from *********************************************** to their offsite location; which appeared to be an old bank. There is no human in the building, everything is done virtually. As a female, I would not of felt safe if I was traveling alone.Secondly, I was forced to pay $69.00 for tolls; if not I could have been possibly fined $25.00 per instance, because NC is a no stop payment for toll. I didn't even access one toll road and was not refunded the $69.00.I was given a ****** Sentra and the cars alignment was out of wack:ires needed rotate/balance disappointing. Additionally You're asked for a $350 deposit,Upon returning the car the shuttle driver told me in perfect English that he could check in the car for me, he takes the car around back and comes back t0 say there was a stain on the back seat and I will be charged $150.00 for car detailing. Mind you the detailing was done around the back if the building with a bucket and water. When I attempted to dispute or ask questions about this charge. The driver then said he did not understand or speak English well. I called BS and a few other choice words. No one had anything in that back seat to hav caused that stain, plus we would have noticed it immediately because it was quite large. I personally believe they put the stain there when I returned the car. NEVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.
