I'm looking for the same problem I ain't even had mine a year the only reason I agreed and signed up because I was told it's electricity went out during the day my solar panels would accommodate a few not all up to 95 to 96% of what I use I wasn't looking for that number but I needed half of it because I'm in an electric wheelchair and if it any point I needed to get everything charged before night came along I would have that then a storm come through a few months later and found out oh it doesn't do that called in inform by someone else that they do have a battery backup option that basically small box they put on the panels that made the solar panels run off the solar panel power and not your electrical grid power Therefore your solar panels would produce power during the day if the electricity was off as a quadriplegic in a wheelchair with electric bed electric wheelchair that is this is the only reason I done it and then found out that it couldn't so when I get storm and it lasts for a day or two electrical outages I'm screwed and they told me I couldn't get the box because they don't install it in this area but I can get a battery backup for 10 to ****** but not the $2,500 solar sunlight IQ 2 box that would fix that Here's the Clincher your sales rep wrote it all down on paper I have that paper the installers when I brought my drone outside and kind of recorded it installation they assured me the same thing about 6 months later nope so they promised something that evidently they couldn't do didn't have it to do otherwise I would have never signed up barely could afford this the way it was done I can but now it'll attack on another $175 a month for battery backup so yes I'm looking for the same thing completely misled was told completely opposite of what they can do or willing to do any help let me know!Business Response

Hi *****, our team has been in contact with you regarding your complaint. Unfortunately, sunlight backup is not something that Lumio offers currently and we have recommended that you reach out to Enphase to see what they can do.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I talked to the company that provides the very equipment that they use enphase and explained that yes they do have this product yes that it does the very thing that I raise the complaint about regarding my solar panels working on their own when electricity is off and not on my electric grid this is again is the whole reason I got the solar panels to provide some electricity when it goes out during it outage so I can still use my hospital bed it charged my electric wheelchair I was told by their representative salesman sitting in my front room that yes my system would run on its own it's electricity was out here today and again that very gentleman still have his email and cell number which is funny is it going to call me back when I started questioning this you representative at Enphase said yes they do have it one item is a little over $500 and the other item is a little over **** dollars that would make the system run exactly like they said I was told three times that before they put it on my roof and that said company Enphase can do the things that lumio is saying they can't they're wanting me to purchase $2,000 of equipment that they should have put on my roof by the very terms I agreed with and they don't want to do it they want me to buy a 10 to $20,000 battery backup instead did not have the money to do that which was explained why I didn't mean disabled and on fixed income please forgive jumping around in this message but that's how aggravating it I am about the situation when I called about it the second time before this complain it was treated like a moron or something like I didn't know what I was talking about and getting mad at me but the situation I just want what I agree to and what I have is not with a promise it could do instead it could do electricity goes out solar panels do not work so then you have 50 to $60,000 of equipment sitting on your route electricity goes out it does not work who in the right mind would buy something like that in the very thing you need it for it cannot do that would be crazy otherwise I would not have put that on my roof because it's not doing what I was told or what I wanted one more time representative from Enphase stated that yes they can they do it all the time adding this to the agreement that I signed just like they said lumio I can add solar panels or battery backup all they had to do was give him a call and explain it on what they needed to do with the very equipment that that company provides to this company lumio to add they don't want to do it because it may cost them I don't want the product because it's costing me and not what I agree to and them let's try to give a few other customers here in the area calls on how their system is doing and was it or is it doing what they expected and was told the only reason I found this or even done this is because there's class action lawsuits starting up because of these reasons so no I do not accept their statement completely rejected because of the company of the equipment they use said it can be done they don't want to do it after the fact it should have been done in the first place think about it $2,000 sunlight control with load monitor compared to 10 to $20,000 for a battery backup which one would you make a customer get pretty simple go back and look at the date of the item and product I'm referring to manufacturing date and the date that my panels were put on I want it fix the way it was described otherwise come get it and remember there was a couple of faulty inverters that your guys put on and then had to replace them before the system was even running fix it right the first time they're waiting for that

As of March 2023 we started paying Service Financial monthly payments of $300.00 for our Lumio Solar. Our Solar was not turned on until September of 2023. Per Lumio customer service reps (I have several names of who I've spoken with over several months) we were told that we would receive a refund from Lumio in the amount of $2,100 for payments made from March - September. I have been told for over 6 months now that they will be sending us an e-mail with the refund in the form of a credit card. This has yet to happen.
On June 22, 2023 we had an electrical fire in our kitchen caused by the Lumio electrician. His name is Cesar and he admitted to us he was at fault. I was told by Lumio they would reimburse us for the repairs; just send in an estimate. Which I sent in. The repairs will cost $7500.00. Lumio now is saying it wasn't there fault and they are not pay.
This company is the absolute worse I've ever dealt with. I'm hoping you can help us recoup our $2,100 in double payments and for our fire damage repair in our kitchen.Business Response

Beginning around August 2022 I was notified by Lumio that my new solar system needed a modem upgrade. I requested Lumio to make the upgrade as opposed to a 3rd party so I wouldn’t have to pay out of pocket up front and wait for reimbursement from Lumio, even though they stated the upgrade would be significantly delayed if I went through them. Then, weeks later, I got a message saying they were unable to do the upgrade due to my location. So I had to pay out of pocket $550 to Sunsystem/Novasource in October 2022. It wasn’t until many phone calls and months later that they (Sunsystem/Novasource) did the modem upgrade (April 2023). At that point I began requesting my reimbursement, which Lumio had promised to pay from the beginning. Every time I called they sent my request to their “Internal Department” for review. I have noted names of nine different people stating they were sending my message to upper management. But each time I call, Upper Manager is on a scheduled call or a Zoom meeting and should call me by the end of the business day. I have yet to receive that call. I have offered to remain on hold. I have tried back throughout the day with the same excuse- she cannot be reached. Also, besides the out of pocket expense they haven’t sent my $1000 rebate from August 2022. Customer service has been non-existent for me.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I received retail gift card credit as reimbursement for a payment of $550 I made. It’s not the same thing and this was not disclosed to me. Response took entirely too long and I made over a dozen time consuming phone calls in the past month to track this down, with only one call back twelve months after making payment. The entire process was a nightmare. Getting my “reimbursement” was an absolute chore.

On August 20, 2023, ****************, sales representative for Lumio, promised me a $1,000 referral bonus check for referring my father to Lumio. I was told the bonus check would be received once solar panels were installed and functioning at his home. To this day, I have not received any referral bonus. I have called numerous times and have unsuccessfully been able to reach anyone other than customer services representatives who are of no help. I was told in July that it would take anywhere between ***** days to receive my bonus. However, I did not receive anything within that timeframe. Since then, I have called numerous times. Each time I call, I am told that status is "pending". When I ask to speak to supervisors, I am told they are unavailable. I am told to expect calls from *********************** but have never heard back from her. As of 10/25/2023, I have yet to receive the promised referral bonus.Business Response

We had the sales pitch meeting with AKE employee 10/22 and a question we specifically asked was related to the procedure when roof needed to be replaced. We were told it was simple: to keep the warranty on solar panels, just call & schedule with Lumio, they would provide invoice, come uninstall, place in a their storage unit and then reinstall within a 2 week period. Another option was to use AKE roofing company and no cost to manage panels. A third option was to hire someone of our choosing to uninstall/reinstall but this would void the panel warranty. Our panels were installed and active by 1/23. In 9/23 we filed hail damage claim that required full roof replacement. The roofing company we hired told us it typically takes no more than 1-2 weeks to get solar panel company scheduled to get the panels down & roof can be installed 1 day, then panels go back up the next day. 10/2/23 I contacted Lumio and was told it takes 30 days to get an invoice that must be paid in advance and then 6-9 month process to get my panels taken down for roof repairs & put back up requiring me to store the panels myself in my garage. Which means I would have to store my panels for 6-9 months (taking up the garage space meant for my vehicles), pay for electricity while the panels are down and continue paying for the panels not being used. Since this is completely unreasonable & did not line up with the info given to me by the salesman, I requested & was told a supervisor would return my call. After 1 week w/o a returned call, I called lumio and was told I was #7 on the list. I then sent an email to the customer service supervisor requesting a response. Oct 18, 2023 I called lumio and was told I’m #32 on the list and guaranteed I would be receiving a call the next day. It is 10/20/23 and I have not received any phone call or email response from Lumio. Lumio has been dishonest and untrustworthy. Their after purchase service and warranty requirements are deplorable and disreputable.Business Response

Hi *****, our team has been in contact with you regrading your complaint. You are more than welcome to have your roofing company do the removal and reinstallation of panels and they would take over the workmanship warranty. Or, we can provide you an invoice for us to complete the work and once paid, we could get you scheduled. Because this service was not included in your contract, it would be an additional cost. Please continue working with our team directly to determine next steps.Initial Complaint

Per our previous complaint #********- On Aug 1, 2023 I paid Lumio $2,000.00 for the purchase and installation of 2 additional solar panels, in addition to the panels I already have. After receiving my invoice and signing my contract, I was told by Lumio that I would be in queue for permitting. I recently had my panels removed and reinstalled after completion of a new roof. I called 2 weeks ago, and a lumio rep assured me that my 2 new panels would be installed at the same time as the reinstallation of my current panels, which was today- 10/18/23. Upon delivery this morning, I spoke with the delivery rep, whom confirmed that Lumio has not placed an order for 2 additional panels for my home (**** **** ***, Sac, CA 95823). I called lumio, when the 2nd rep also confirmed, not only has an order not been placed for 2 panels, an account has not even been created to begin said project. My question is why after 90 days of paying $2,000 dollars for 2 solar panels from lumio, have they made zero progress in regards to installing my panels. If an account has not been created and an order not placed, one can only assume we are nowhere near being permitted for installation. Which explains why Lumio has failed to make even one attempt to contact me about an update, much less schedule an appointment for installation. I would like answers, and at the very least, to be compensated financially for the extreme delay and utter failure on Lumios part.Business Response

Around June 2022, I purchased solar panels from Lift Energy, now Lumio. At the time of the inspection of my roof, they said it was OK and proceeded to install the panels. In January through March of 2023, we had severe rains, and where the panels were installed my roof leaked in three different areas: directly over my bed, kitchen, and living room, and three other areas in my home where the panels were not. I have been contacting them via phone and email for 9 months. I have been transferred to a different account representative 3 times. They have told me time after time that this is being taken care of, and as of today, October 18, 2023, nothing has been done. My last response from them was on September 27, 2023, saying they spoke with the contractor on September 22, 2023, and they are still waiting for them to respond. They also said they could not locate a contractor in my area, and I was told by the person who is now handling my account that I could find one on my own. I want my roof replaced and my ceiling replaced in my house. This could also be a health issue, as the ceiling could have mold.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I have contacted Lumio just about everyday about this since February 2023. I have repeatedly told them about the water leaking over my bed where I sleep. I was awaken in the night from water dripping directly on me and I had to place a bucket on one side of my bed because of the steady stream of water. Water leaking on my furniture in living room, and in my bathroom. They keep giving me the same response. I do not want their promises or good intentions anymore. I was advised by Lumio Solar that I didn't need to replace my roof. However, it turned out that the leaks in my house were caused by the poor condition of the entire roof. Lumio deceived me into purchasing the solar panels. If they had been honest about the roof's condition, No, I wouldn't have spent money on the panels. The ***************** hasn't provided me with any updates regarding the necessary repairs yet. They are not responding to my calls or emails. I had roof damage to my house and needed to get solar panels removed. Lumio did the detach through a contracted company they proved in April 2023. When trying to get my panels back installed Lumio has stop doing business with the contracted company. Leaving its customers in crisis. We now have panels we cannot get installed. The company they contracted with went out of business. When I call to try and get Lumio to reinstall the panels they removed I get zero returned calls for months. I have called customer service at least 20 times. They always tell me they need to contact a manager. No one at Lumio is taking responsibility. Now I am stuck paying a loan payment for panels I cannot use and a Entergy bill. Lumio does not care about the customer after the sell. They will not do what is right and fix the issue they caused by contracting with a terrible company for work.Business Response

Hi ******, our team has been in contact with you regarding your complaint. Upon reviewing your contract, you only purchased enough panels to offset 57% of your yearly consumption. However, you do have more space on your roof for additional panels which would increase your production.
Lumio is NOT a BBB Accredited Business.
To become accredited, a business must agree to BBB Standards for Trust and pass BBB's vetting process.
