Back in July I purchased a RV out of *****, ** and the dealer had me financed it through AFCU. About two weeks later I was contacted by AFCU and was offered a refinance for my 2018 ***** Silverado at a lower interest rate. I accepted the refinance and AFCU **** up the loan and worked with the current finance company to payoff the loan and open the lower rate loan with AFCU. Two months later I received a bill from the original finance company saying I still had a $878 balance on the original loan. After some of my own investigation it came out AFCU wrote the wrong payoff amount on the loan and shorted the payoff by $878. When I called AFCU to get an explanation and resolve this issue they said there's nothing they can do to resolve it since they have a signed contract from me with the incorrect payoff amount. Although they made the error they can't rewrite a new loan contract with the correct payoff amount without keeping my same interest rate. They told me it's my responsibility to workout the remaining balance with the original loan company although the original company is still holding the title of the truck. I asked for a higher manager with AFCU to contact me as I feel since it's their error they can still rewrite the loan with my same interest rate and payoff the original loan themselves. No one has contacted me yet from AFCU.

Horrible company. Just learned that AF added on $9,600 in "collateral Insurance" premiums for the year. I pay $70 per month through ******* for the sports car that I bought through AmFirst back in April. I had a lag in coverage due to issues getting signed on with ******* (high-performance experience resume, etc.,) but had no idea that these people would pull such a ***** Fargo scam to grab more money. Insurance lag (vehicle was garaged at my house and not driven while waiting for the insurance to come through,) was over 60 days, which is on me...however, an exorbitant charge in excess of $1000.00/month in insurance premiums for the lag period (with no informative contact to tell me this would be the result,) eclipses the normal insurance premiums that I pay by more than ****%. I wouldn't have a problem paying them for the lag at $100 per month for the lag, but $1000? How is this legal? Talking to my attorney on Monday. ***** Fargo is being sued for the same practice. Disgusting. Stay far away from this company. Bad news.America First Credit Union

Their name should actually be "America Last Credit Union". Absolutely worst finance company I have ever dealt with and I have dealt with about 6 others. Their customer service is awful and usually entirely unhelpful after you spend hours on hold to speak with someone. Or you could request a callback and cross your fingers you actually receive a call. The first issue I had with them was that I thought I had payed them a payment and without my knowledge, it hadn't gone through. They didn't call to let me know or anything and marked my credit for a late payment. I have never had a late payment before. I called and asked if they could remove it since it was a simple mistake and I was unaware my payment didn't go through. Fast forward to today...one of my payments is past due and I asked them for an extension. They said yes, but they will still be reporting my account delinquent. Most companies will allow an extension without reporting negatively to your credit. It's not like I'm months behind. So then I asked if the "skip a month" option was available and they told me I am not eligible. Their app and online website need some serious upgrading as they make paying an extremely frustrating process all together. Do not go with them for anything, If I had a time machine I would have never agreed to use them as my finance company and I never will again.America First Credit Union

I am still having non-stop issues with this awful company. They continually report to my credit falsely! I have all of my payments recorded including one I made for 7.5 month in advance, including December-July. And then I continued to pay because they kept reporting that I was late to my credit. So technically I am actually ahead on payments. This has been the absolute worst company I have dealt with. And anytime I actually get ahold of a representative they can't actually tell me anything useful as to why they're reporting and ruining my credit.
