      Horrible customer service. I have tried many times to call and have someone come out to fix issues with my equipment and could never get someone on the phone. After multiple tries I then tried to call and cancel my service and still no luck getting anyone on the phone and the numbers I call go straight to some random voicemail. My suggestion is if you have this system call your bank and have them put a stop payment on this company if you have it set up to automatically draft.

      Like other customers before me, I selected one star because there isn't an option to not select any, zero, nada!A guy from ALDER came to my house, without a previously scheduled visit, claiming that my current home security system was being bought by ALDER and that he came to replace the equipment. I am in academia and it was the end of the spring semester, so I was engrossed in grading papers and it didn't occur to me that I was being had. I believed him (gullible of me!) so he changed everything and made me sign all kinds of documents. I immediately looked into the company and learned that it was deceptive, so I called the company and told them to rescind my contract since I was within the three-day grace ******* They didn't. I called the ALDER technician to remove the ALDER equipment and reinstall the old one. He didn't. ALDER even sent me a bill for the first month, which I never paid, of course. When I called, they told me that I had to remove the equipment myself and return it to them. I did. Afterward, I called my old security company so they could reinstall their equipment again (the ALDER technician had left everything in a plastic bag.) When my old security company technician arrived, he told me that there were a few pieces missing. Replacing the missing pieces cost me more than $100 :-( Dam you, ALDER!

      If I could leave zero I would. Had their security for almost 2 yrs. Then a sales guy came around and wanted to upgrade me. Replacing 2 out door cameras and 2 door bell cameras with 4 wired cameras. Tech come and only installs 2 and the 2 are on a completely different app then their older cameras are. Call to check on it then tell me they will give me 2 more for an extra $50 a month. I say no and want to cancel. Sign the paper work on 7/27/23. They then tell me they cant get a tech out to uninstall till sept 19th. Then send me an email that a refund isnt guaranteed and they wont start the cancelation process until my equipment is returned. I call and complain. They say they can guarantee my refund since I canceled with in 3 days, but it wont happen until they come get their equipment. Then the sales rep ***** me about my can cancelation and proceeds to tell me that I only have 2 options keep the cameras or pay $250 a camera to have more installed. Tells me he doubts Ill hook up my own cameras (ones I already paid in full for) and then tells me to spare the 20 bucks a month, that wont take food off the table. Then yesterday 7/31 they took the monthly fee out for what I had canceled. I called they said they have to follow their process. And I will be refunded what they take out after they get the equipment in sept. So they expect me to be penalized and continue to pay for a service I have canceled with them until they decide to send a tech out to uninstall it. Its absolutely ridiculous.

      Can I leave zero stars? Alder put a system in our home in January 2019. Our contract should be up January ****. I called them last week and was told we are under contract until February ****! They said when they came to our home in February 2022 to upgrade the panel we signed a new contract! Excuse me! They called me that day, said they were in the area and needed to come by and replace our panel. I did not call them! When they replaced it they asked me to sign that the work was completed. They never mentioned another contract and didn't give us a copy of anything! They are scam artists! People need to be made aware of this bait and switch tactic!

      Poor Business Practices. I was told I was signing a two year contract. After two years, I go to cancel and it turns out I signed a 5 year contract!!!! And in order to cancel, I have to pay off 90% of my remaining contract!!! This is bait and switch and poor salesmanship. I am never going to have service with Alder again and I am never going to recommend anyone to Alder.

      I have this "security system" for over 5 yrs now , I called last year to cancel if I canceled it would have had to pay an early termination fee . so I waited for the contract to be up which will be in the next week 8-3-2023 , called too cancel the service , answered the 5 security questions , couldnt/cant remember pin , which last year wasnt a problem, and was supposed to be sent the pin in the mail, now waited for another letter to be sent with pin number ,I've had zero interaction with this company such as letters and media updates , other than takeing there monthly payment out of my checking account and paying for a device that tells me communication failure every day..

      Alder deserves zero stars but that is not an option here. Three DAYS after the installation the back door sensor BROKE off. I called and was told the technician can not come out for a few weeks. I called after a week and told them I wanted this contract canceled due to very bad customer service. I was told to send in the equipment (which my husband and I had to uninstall ourselves) and once they had the equipment it would be canceled. Going on 2 months later I call again when my account is charged for the second time and ask why this account has not been canceled. I was told my account did not meet the cancelation requirements that I needed to pay the dull balance to cancel (when I asked for that amount I was told I can't afford it instead of getting a number) After a lot more phone calls and many many many hours on hold and being transferred, I finally had a guy tell me my account was canceled and I would be refunded for the 2 months Great!. A month later I check my account for the refund only to see yet ANOTHER charge from this company. Alders customer service is absolutely horrible.

      This company preys on the elderly. My 83 year old father-in-law moved into an assisted living and sold his house. When we called to cancel the security, we were told that he would have to pay off the remainder of the contract, which was over $1000! This is a disgusting practice that needs to be stopped.

      I tried to cancel my service for a system. I never set up and was paying bills on. When I called to cancel they wanted a verbal password again for a system. I never set up so I didnt have a password and now they wont cancel the service without it, now if I stop paying the bills itll go against my credit is people are completely worthless

      I'm only giving them 1 start just so I can do this review. They do not even deserve 1 star! ALDER is HORRIBLE! WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING WITH ALDER! My 5 year contract FINALLY ended, well I ended it 2 months early, because I was tired of dealing with them. Within the 5 years, I have fought with them about payments, equipment, and its like pulling teeth to get a technician out. This past February my system stopped working, they told me that I still had to pay the monthly fee and they would credit my account for the months that it wont be working. Well 6 months later, they finally sent someone out to fix my equipment. I had to get a lawyer involved so they would credit my account for the 6 months that my system did not work. When I called in May to go ahead and payout the end of my contract, I was asked several questions as to why and what other company I was going with. I had to sign a paper, email it back, and pay the remaining balance. This was in June. So I cancelled my service/account/contract 2 months early. Yesterday I walked out to my mailbox and I had a statement from Alder for $11.80!! So I had to call the sorry company and tell them I am not paying the $11 and that my service has been cancelled. I kept asking the lady as to why they haven't deleted my info/account yet after I paid and signed the ending of my contract. She looked in to it and said "i'm sorry, disregard that statement" Your contract is cancelled. I told the lady, to delete my account/service/contract, etc and that I never want to see Alder on my phone or in my mailbox! PLEASE WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GET ALDER!!! They are worthless and a piece of crap! TRUST ME YOU ARE BETTER OFF WITHOUT THEM! I am so happy that I no longer have to deal with these sorry people! FYI:: If you do have a contract with them, they automatically sign you up for AUTO RENEWAL!! So make sure you tell them to uncheck auto renewal. ALDER IS HORRIBLE! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH ALDER! WORST SERVICE EVER!
