      Do NOT use them. As everyone else says it is virtually impossible to cancel. They did NOT tell me nor my parents that it would automatically renew (that is partially our fault for not reading the fine print but most companies will tell you that upfront). I moved 3 years ago and paid to get out of the contract (fair enough, even though I did not realize my contract had auto-renewed but I take responsibility for that). When my mom had a piece of equipment fail they said they would replace it "for free". What they did not say was that free service put her in another 3 years of contract. My mom passed last April and I sent them her death certificate. Her bank account is closed so they are not getting paid. When I sent the death certificate they said it was being sent to the cancellation department and would be resolved within 30 days. Mind you, this was after a back and forth about trying to make me take over the system and trying to make the new owner of the house take over. They did not want to take no for an answer. Fast forward to 11 MONTHS later and her old neighbor calls me because the police were sent out by the alarm company. The new homeowner does not know why. I reach out again, using the SAME email thread from last year ( showing we have already had this conversation). He says, do you or the new homeowner want to take it over. If you read the emails, we have had this discussion more than once, NO. He says, ok, you will have to call in to cancel. After I have it in writing that in April ******* it was sent for cancellation. Make it make sense. They prey on elderly and are not upfront. There is at least one FB page full of people whose parents were duped into getting service with them and can't get out.

      Alder Security is impossible to work with. They threaten customers with insanely high cancellation fee's. Managers are unable to help cancel services without charging $2900+ They are like a toxic boyfriend that you can't escape from. Spent hours trying to resolve contract issues, and no solution was made. I am paying hundreds for a service i'm no longer using. DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT TO WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. I would give zero stars if I could.

      I have experienced the following in regards to this company.1. You have to do your own installation.2. If you attempt to cancel their service you need to file the cancellation notice with the company prior to the expiration of your contract. If you file it before the expiration of your contract they will not cancel the service. If you file your cancellation notice after the expiration of your service they will not accept it because the contract automatically renews.3. When you call to complain, they will give your the runaround on why they cannot cancel the service.4. I would only recommend this company only to people you do not like.

      Terrible company to deal with. Called in Jan to cancel the account. They did not cancel the acct. I told them many times to just cancel the acct. They did not send a cancellation letter. Terrible customer service. I would never recommend them to anyone. Need to be reported for such horrible service

      I have sent plenty of emails and made plenty of phone calls and told them i didnt live in the house with the system anymore for about 3 years. And I CANT CANCEL a system im no longer using. I have no use for it. ****** want this system for me to hand it over. CANCEL MY ACCOUNT

      This company is downright dirty and their service is horrible. I tried cancelling my service almost a year ago and they WILL NOT cancel it. Instead they continue to ask if you cancel it how will you or your property be protected .now they are telling me I have a remaining balance and sent a list of actions they will take.this is ridiculous because I DID NOT have a balance when I initially asked them to cancel it neither did they ever mention a balance. Now, due to them not canceling I have a balance. ***

      I responded to a telemarketer call by Alder selling wired outdoor security cameras. The offer was for "no upfront cost" and a monthly charge of just under $100 for installation of an eight camera system. I explained that I wanted a system but would not do anything with recurrent monthly fees. They agreed to "sell" me the system for $899 but I also had to pay for one month service only. I agreed.Several weeks later, an installation technician arrived to install the system. I refused to allow him access to do the install until I read the agreement. It was indeed for one month, but did also state it would continue month-to-month until cancelled. I called Alder and explained I was refusing the install. Alder assured me that I could allow the install and opt out of the recurrent service by annotating such on the agreement. They were to note my account on their end as well. All were agreed that there would be no need to send in a cancellation notice and that there would be no recurrent charges.I have been billed for 11 months. I have done all the ask and am still receiving collection calls. I emailed a cancellation notice as requested with email receipt of it from them and still get collection calls. They retrieved the electronic copy of my contract and acknowledge I annotated NO RECURRENT FEES as instructed but want me to continue to pay. I can furnish email verification of everything I have stated on request. Do Not Do Business With ************************* is my experience with them that leads me to believe and hold the Opinion that they are deceitful and will do anything to record any word of affirmation so that they can stick you with a contract you do not want.

      I live in *******, *****. My system stopped working on December 21, 2024 and as of today, January 5, 2025, I'm still waiting for a technician to come to my home. When I spoke with their scheduling department, they informed me that there is only one technician working in my area and as soon as he is available, I will be contacted. In the meantime, I'm without an alarm. So please do not choose this company for your alarm system. Do not use this company, horrible service. I've called practically every day and I get the same answer.

      My mother (elderly)has been with this company over 14yrs and after I heard on the phone upset of course I stepped in as her oldest remaining son. Come to find out Alder told her for her to cancel she'll have to pay 1k. I got on the phone and asked to speak to manager and manager finally picks up after 45min wait saying ******* she'll have to pay. STAY AWAY from this company cause they do shady stuff and I noticed they had deceptive sales tactics as reviews and lawsuit. Definitely beware

      Would give zero stars if I could. When cancelling service you are told to call a number, fine. Call the number and then get told I need to fill out a form and submit via email. Get the form, return and receive acknowledgment and am told I have to call an account representative. Call the account representative and then get told I need to fill out and return another form. Fill out the form, receive acknowledgment and am told I have to call their cancellation department. Called their department and was on hold for over an hour despite being told my wait time was 5 minutes or less, and never got picked up. Called back and opted in to get a call , never received a call back. Called back and opted in for text messaging, never got a response. Called back and am now on hold again for over an hour. I just want to cancel service but it seems like this is a deliberate attempt to just get you so frustrated that you quit trying.
