  Our experience with Ion Solar has been horrendous. 1. They make promises at the initial consultation they do not keep. ie you don't start making payments until your system is up and running, which is not true.2. When the solar power was switched on, the inverters were not set up correctly and some of our sockets began blowing fuses when devices were plugged in. It cost us $1,000 of our own money to pay for an electrician to fix this. Ion Solar was uninterested in fixing the problem when it arose and remain uninterested in the fact we had to spend our own money to fix the issue.3. We reported critter guard coming loose weeks ago. 4. We were promised a ****** Nest and LED bulbs. They've never arrived, despite multiple requests.5. Texts are not answered.6. Voicemails are not returned.7. **************** bounces you from person to person instead of actually providing customer service 7. I could go on and on.......

  They rip people off. I changed my mind and didnt want to use them and came out charging me **** for cancelling when they didnt even do any work. what a scam of a company if they have to do this imagine getting the panels install and the problems youll have in the future. ***** will come to them it always does

  After signing a contract with ION Solar. My wife and I decided that we no longer thought it was economical for us to go ahead with the install. I made an attempt to contact the service rep who sold us the contract several times after calling the company and requesting a cancellation, I was informed that it a cancellation rate would get back to me. Needless to say, I have called in three times requesting a cancellation and have still not heard back from the cancellation rep. I am concerned that the company is stalling so that they could charge us the $1200 cancellation fee when only a contractor came out to do a site survey. We were informed several times by the representative that we could cancel any time.

  Despite having a No Soliciting sign clearly posted on our door, salespeople continue to ring our doorbell while wearing the company logo. If the company cant hire respectful sales force, or at the very least - smart individuals, why would I want to do business with them? This same company has worked our neighborhood the prior year, and when we told them we dont entertain solicitors, they got confrontational and said its not solicitation if Im trying to save you money! This time around, I figured it was worth adding my complaint here- maybe one day this company will get the point.

  Solar was installed in 2019 from the get go was done extremely poorly, electrical fire, roof leaks ,wrong parts used, roof damage dishonest employees, won't generate enough power to cover the cost of the system, part failure. I would never have Solar installed or buy a home with it especially if Ion solar did the work.

  The onboarding process was longer than promised. Our panels were not working when our first payment was due. The inspection failed due to how they wired into our electrical panel from the top, stating that over time condensation would drip down the box and our whole panel would have to be replaced. Our first bill was amazing. $24 for power!! It has progressively gone up. We are under $100 of savings over the last two months. Ive contacted our rep and sent screenshots of our usage. Ive received no reply. My Husband was able to get through to the office and the lady told him that they are severely understaffed and that ****** would be her last day. She put an emergency ticket in, but still nothing. The sad part is that I pushed my husband into solar because I saw the savings my grandpa got with his panels in **********.

  This company was very frustrating to work with and honestly made us feel like we were being scammed. We signed papers in January to get our solar panels installed. The set timeframe was between March/April. The first few months involved getting approvals from different companies including HOA and electric. We had gotten weekly updates that things were taking longer than expected but it was getting worked on after some time we stopped hearing from them and did not receive a response until June. Which then we were told our paperwork had been misplaced in the transfer from one project manager to the next. During this time we googled the company to ensure they were in fact an authentic company. After getting back in contact things started to get moving and we started scheduling inspections. We got our solar panels installed finally in the month of July but they were not turned on until September. The process has been so long due to an unbelievable lack of communication. We went months without getting any response from this company. We have had 2 separate appointments cancelled on us without any word until we called and inquired where they were. When we tried to reach out to ION they would not respond. We have had people show up completely unannounced. We have had multiple project managers and random people messaging us with no communication between any of them. We are currently trying to advocate for our selves because there had been a discussion about a critter guard but it never made it into our contract and we are asking to have it installed at no cost to us because of our horrid process. We have had one shining light with *******, the finalization specialist, who has been a huge advocate for us at the end. Bottom line is that solar panels are great but ION is not. Do not make the same mistake we did, work with any other company but this one.

  Filled out info from website that said their 2 minute analysis would tell me how much I'd save, etc.. no need for office visit, we can tell you the cost, etc.. Subsequently, I was called and asked for more information, 1 year of my Dominion Bills, etc.. Next, I was called again saying they had to come to see my home (keep in mind, over the internet, they said they didn't need to and showed me a satellite image of my home saying they had all the info they needed). So, I agreed to meet on a Saturday morning, and a salesman arrived on time at ****. The salesman, didn't look at my home, said he had the proposal in his briefcase, just needed to go over the financing details and wanted my information so he could run a credit report. I explained to him as I had explained to others on the phone and online, I will pay cash if the proposal is acceptable to me. He started explaining to me, "you don't want to pay cash, keep your money, I can get you a 2.9% financing, how's that sound"... I explained to him again, I pay cash. He then dropped the financing to 1.9% and said can I do that. I explained again, I pay cash and just want the proposal. Then he asked if my wife was home. She was, but I told him, this is my house, I paid for it, you don't need to see my wife. He said, because she lived in the home, she had to be present for his proposal review or he'd get fired. He also told me the internet survey is a bunch of jive and you'll never get a propsal that way, and he also criticized the other folks I spoke with on the phone telling me, "Those young guys shouldn't be telling you we'll give you the proposal, they misled you." At that point, I asked him to leave and told him this is a bait and switch routine and they are full of BS. Unfortunate, my neighbor referred me to Ion Solar and if they would have been straight with me, I might have used them. But they exercised what I consider a lack of ethical business practices from the internet, to meeting me. Caveat emptor!!!!!

  ION Solar sold my information to another company without my consent. When I brought it up they said it was a third party that actually came to my door. The guy that was at my door was wearing an *** shirt and gave me an appointment card with the *** name on it. These folks are clearly not transparent and the other negative reviews I have read confirm this.

  Sales people showed up and knocked. My first question is always "why did you ignore the no soliciting sign?". Their answer is we are not soliciting. Even after telling them I'm not interested in working with ION due to bad experiences some others I had they continued then got testing when told they needed to leave. From this experience alone, I'll never work with ION. Please do your own research and compare prices. yes the gov' is subsidizing however, the solar companies are going to do whatever they can to **** up prices.
