We contracted with Avolta, formerly Bello, formerly Brio to install solar panels. The panels were installed and eventually inspected and turned on. For several months our power bill from Duke Power was always $16 and we thought the panels were working well. Recently we received a bill from Duke Power dating back to June Indicating that our power usage was more than what the panels were covering for $412. Now we are trying to follow up with Avolta to ensure that the panels are working correctly and to find out if there is a way of contracting for regular maintenance. We are tryin to sell our house with the intent of paying off the remainder of the loan we have with Avolta that is collected through good leap loan servicing. While we were thinking that we were paying $16 per month in power to Duke Power and $144 per month to good leap for the contract with Avolta things seemed to be working as they were described to us. Now we have this $412 bill indicating that the panels are not covering the 80% of power usage that we were told would happen and now the payments to good leap have increased to $184 per month because we have not been able to qualify for all of the rebates we were told would be given to us to reduce the loan to the amount that was to be met to continue at the $144 amount. I have been trying to contact Avolta to make an appointment for a service call and I am consistently met with a message that indicates for me to turn my system off and on to correct the problem. We are now trying to sell our house, pay off the solar loan, but are getting questions from potential buyers about who to call for service and maintenance. I would like to be able to tell potential buyers a number that works to reach a reliable maintenance and service department to fulfill these needs and provide us with a solid answer to the questions about the panels, the rebates, the changes in the loan and the inability to reach an inperson representative for Avolta.Initial Complaint

We went with getting solar power to help reduce eagerly costs with Avolta . We were told we were to get a rebate from the state to help pay for the cost of the solar. We noticed our energy bill went significantly higher then it was before with the solar and we tried to contact Avolta with no luck. Now we are paying $27,000 thousand dollars for a useless cost of solar that doesn’t even help our energy bill but made us in debt. Something needs to be done . This includes the excel energy company who sells your, solar power without you getting credit back as well.Initial Complaint

Hello, my husband and I purchased solar panels in march of 2020 from Brio energy. We discovered a leak in our pantry ceiling, and I called out our roofer. He came to look and said the panels were the problem. I then went on the hunt to find Brio and eventually found them linked to Avolta so I emailed their customer relations department. In speaking with them I requested someone to come out and fix the panels and leak. The technician that came was looking at our solar panel box outside and said we should have a 'cell kit' so we can monitor its functionality I emailed again a Sarah P***** and she was 'working on it." This was in may 2022. Fast forward until now and we have continued to have high electric bills and I do not believe the system is working at all and have no way to monitor it. I have emailed Sarah P*****- which was undeliverable. I have also emailed a George Cespedes from Avolta, email was also returned as undeliverable. I believe we have been swindled and want justice sought.Initial Complaint

We had our solar panels turned on last April. Since then we have still been getting a monthly electric bill for anywhere from $100-$200. The whole point of the panels are to get rid of the electric bills. The system was supposed to produce 17,572 kWh a year and is on track to produce a little more than half that (11,158 kWh if March stays within the average). The contact info I have is not working and their website has zero information on how to contact them.Initial Complaint

We cannot get in contact with this company because they continually change names. Our solar panels do not work properly. They took over a year to get installed. We are paying more for panels + electricity than we would have just staying with standard electricity. This place is horrible. I regret purchasing these panels. I want panels that work properly so I am not wasting my money.Initial Complaint

Everything went great until it didn't!
Now all phone numbers are
disconnected! We were charged for
tree trimming, worked into the
estimate, never completed! Can't
get ahold of anyone to come check
our panels to make sure they're
producing what they're supposed
to. Our production has gone down
and I need to find out why because or electricity bill is outrageous! They didn't show us how to start up the solar when it was installed. It took a few months before I finally got ahold of someone to tell me how. I could go on! ! need to find out how to file a
lawsuit against this company!
Unfortunately they disappeared in
the wind! Well.. one state's attorney
General has already filed one sol
think l'll start there! Had to pay 2 bills for a few months because they never showed us how to start up the solar. Was promised a check for 2-3 thousand dollars after completion and got less that $1,500 and they said I it was to help pay for the electricity bill but that's not what we were told in the beginning or the middle.... now it's after the fact that! They use a 3rd party for customer service. Ugh.. I can't type well so please someone call.Initial Complaint

Avolta installed solar panels on our house. The selling point was that the payments would replace our electric bill. We were told that the number of panels installed would be more than sufficient to cover our electricity usage. We still receive sizeable electric bills. We have tried numerous times to reach someone and sent them copies of the bills when we did manage to get someone. When the next bill arrives, the email we sent to previously is no longer valid. We can't continue to make payments on the solar panels and the electric bill.Initial Complaint

We went into a contact with Avolta to install solar panels on our house in May of 2022. The completed the installation and turned the system on in October of 2022. As part of the contract, the total system cost was $48,848 cost of the system and we were told we could add money to the loan amount that Avolta would send back to us. This would take advantage of the 26% tax credit and we could use the extra funds to upgrade appliances. We added $11,152 to the total bringing the loan amount to $60,000. We have been paying on the loan for 4 months now and still haven't seen the overage that Avolta was supposed to send us.
I've emailed multiple people and called multiple customer service lines for Avolta and their new company name (or parent company?) Solex Renewables, but no one has responded since Dec 1.Initial Complaint

This is my second time making a complaint with this company since I’ve start my project with them. First was an issue of getting my solar panels turned in and operating, which still hasn’t been completed since 3 of my panels are not working, even though they closed that complaint. Also I never received the refund they said I would get for the 4 months of paying for my loan, even though my panels were not producing power.
But now, I take issue with their customer service. I’m currently in the process of trying to sell my home, and buyers are asking me about information that is not in my contract (manufacturers warranty). Also trying to get help with the loan transfer process, which I was told was very easy to transfer when they pitched me to buy these panels. Strangely enough, their website does not have a phone number anywhere, nor their google profile, and the number listed on their Facebook is disconnected. I was able to find a phone number for a representative from an old email, but for weeks I’ve been waiting for a call back. Now because of the lack of response from this company, I’ve had 2 separate buyers pull out from purchasing my house because they don’t trust this company and cannot get any word from them.Initial Complaint

The business entities
1. Titan Solar Power and
2. Avolta
promised something for doing business with them and they do not honor it immediately after the business is done. I was to beg and raise the issues with BBB for resolution. That is not the expected behavior of business entities. I am uploading the details document of the flow of the events.
