I need a phone number and email address to be able to contact someone at this company if needed. They sell you solar and then you can only contact them, maybe, by mail. I was not told about or offered a battery to store my solar energy and I want to know why and maybe how to get one for the short length of time I plan to have solar.Initial Complaint

We started our solar journey on 10/15/21 with the 1st year incentive (FYI) no payment for 1 year. I was told the way the FYI works is that we'd get a check in the mail for total year's payments, and it would be sent out after the panels were activated. They have been up, running and working since JULY 2022. STILL NO FYI Check! I have reached out Via Email Starting back on 10/12. The rep then told me my check was printed and would be mailed out that Friday and I should receive it by 10/28 or 31... NO CHECK. Then I emailed back on 11/1 they told me they were reaching out to the finance department. Finally heard back from them (after another email of course) and this was the response I received "I just received an update from the accounting department and according to them they just had the checks printed out because it was just recently approved by the owner. Rest assured that we'll send this out as soon as possible." I reached out again on 11/14 only to receive this "As of the moment they put a hold on sending these checks. We apologize for this delay but what we can assure you is that you'll receive that soon. We'll keep you posted on this matter." Sent 2 more email after that and got nothing in return. We called, left messages NO REPLY. So, I started hitting different options FINALLY a real person answered the phone her response was "checks were on hold" I asked for a supervisor as I was told to many different excuses and just wanted the truth. She put me on a brief hold and came back and said no one was available to take my call I said I would wait she hung up on me. Called back, she said she would pass my info along and i would hear back now that was on 11/18 Still have not heard back. called again today same lady answered now she is telling me that the holdup is because the Solar company hasn't paid them. again, i asked for a supervisor was put on hold no one could take my call she will "pass on my information" I just want the truth and my money!Initial Complaint

I have contracted with Avolta for a solar power system installation. Part of the incentive to work with this provider was that they offered a 12-month reimbursement to cover the first 12 months of service. This payment was supposed to be paid out before the system was turned in, in order to allow the customer to pay upfront for the service. After more than 12 months awaiting system install, I attempted to cancel the install, but was told that I would have to pay a penalty of 60% of the install price but was offered an additional 6-month incentive, for a total of 18-months reimbursement upon turn-up of the system ($1887.) After another couple months, the service was finally turned on, but still no incentive/reimbursement check. I called once and was told that they would look into it. I called again two months later and was told the same thing, they would look into it and get back to me. Today, I called again, after over six months of active service, and was again told they would look into it. I asked to speak directly to the Accounting group responsible to disbursement but was told that "they were not answering." I asked to speak to a manager but was told that they could not help me any further. The customer service agent then disconnected my call. I have called back several times since and my call simply goes to voicemail. I have not received a return call.Initial Complaint

This complaint is in reference to the solar company Avolta. My contract with Avolta started approximately July 30, 2021. The solar panels were installed approximately January 7, 2022. Several emails and phone calls were made between January and July of 2022 regarding activation. July 2022 is when someone was sent to finally activate the solar panels. The solar panels were operable from approximately July 7, 2022 until August 9, 2022 they suddenly lost power. I reached out to Avolta on several occasions for assistance in powering my solar panels and they forwarded my inquiry to 1 Solar. I recently found out Avolta went out of business and 1 Solar was hired to complete my install. For that reason I have no service warranty. I live in NC and 1 Solar is located in UT and does not service my state. 1 Solar suggested that I find a local company to service my solar panels and that I would be responsible for the bill. Bad business!!! I'm paying a monthly bill to Corning Credit for the solar panels, a monthly bill to my local electricity company and now left with the responsibility to hire and pay a contractor for faulty solar panels... It is now October 2022 and my solar panels have been operable for approximately 39 days out of this entire ordeal. My next step is pursuing legal action against Avolta!!

Purchased Solar Power Generation System from Avolta at a cost of $24,200.00
Our complaint has two parts. 1- Failure to meet promises and commitments made in writing before purchase; and 2- Failure to repair Solar Edge Program (under warranty) for 2-1/2 months (still not completed).
We contracted with Avolta in June of 2021, for them to install solar panels and all of the associated equipment to generate solar electricity at our home. The panels were installed almost immediately in June, 2021. However, many delays and problems with the project, our system wasn't up & producing power until December 2021.
Even after the system was running & functional, the promised 6 months of payments credit was never received. Countless calls and emails to George, were fruitless, being told that it had to have credit department approval and would be sent very soon. Very soon has never come.
The other unfulfilled promise of the Smart thermostat and LED lights, met with the same delays that they are on order and we should receive them very soon. Again, very soon has never come.
The second part of our complaint has to do with an unresolved warranty issue. Our solar system was installed with Solar Edge, a communication program that communicates how much power is be generated each day. For an unknown reason, our Solar Edge program stopped communicating on July 15th 2022. After many communications with Sarah, we are continually told that they are unable find a technician to come out and take care of the problem. It has been 2-1/2 months of being put off with no indication of when it will be resolved. Granted, this problem does not effect the generation of power by our system, but it is one more thing that we have paid for but are not receiving from Avolta.Initial Complaint

Avolta solar installed my solar 11/2020.
In June of 2022, avolta sent a technician to my house to check my system and the technician told me only half of my solar panels were connected and producing power. From 11/2020 until 6/2023 avolta solar was charging for a system that was not completed. I just want to tell on avolta.
Someone needs to stop them.Initial Complaint

When i first signed my contract for Avolta it was July 20,2021 for the amount of $40,500 for solar panels. They promised that my panels would be up and running within 6-8 months and that when i filed my taxes i would get a refund of $10,000 for going solar. That was when the lies after lies after lies began. They never communicated and when i would reach out to them nobody ever had any answers for me. The panels were installed on my roof in September of that year but for months i didnt hear anything after. I kept reaching out and finally told someone I wanted to cancel the project and remove the panels because it is not december and i have already started paying these panels. The person i had spoke to (Andy J******) told me that because the panels were already installed on my roof i would have to pay $6,000 within 30 days for canceling the project. He then promised he would communicate every week and get my panels up and running by the beginning of the year and again no one every communicated and they still were not up and running. We are now in August of 2022 and my panels are running but due to lack of placement they are not producing much energy. They were placed right next to a tree that i am now going to have to get removed and have to pay so i can try to get more energy production from my panels. Since they turned my panels on in July I am still paying the payment to the panels plus Xcel for using there energy. I am now needing to add more panels to my roof because Avolta didnt give me a system big enough for my home and now im having to take out another loan to pay more panels. Avolta has never took ownership for their mistakes and have put all the blame on Xcel and the City for not getting the working in a timely manner. They are the worse people i have ever worked with and i hope other people stop using them. The amount of debt they are putting people in is not fair to us who can barely make it day by day.Initial Complaint

Since engaging with Avolta in Feb. 2021, we've experienced deceptive and fraudulent sales tactics, multiple project delays, operational and installation issues, frequent staff changes, miscommunication and unresponsiveness from the company, unkept promises, and lack of information/data about our solar contract and system. Some of our top issues/complaints:
• When we tried to get out of our initial agreement with the company, they said they’d charge us a cancellation fee of $6,236 (15% of the system cost). In order to incentivize us to move forward, Avolta promised us check for $1,278 that would come 30-60 days after installation. To date, we have not received this check.
• According to our research, we were over-charged for our system. Ours cost $41,576 while systems of similar size from other companies cost an average of $20 – 30K.
• We were told by both Avolta and Good Leap (their recommended financial partner) that our loan would be 2.99% but would decrease to 2.49% if we auto-pay. We are auto-paying and the rate is still at 2.99.% I’ve contacted Good Leap and Avolta about this, and they have yet to resolve it.
• Solar panels were installed in October 2021, and have not to date been turned on due to multiple delays in installation, inspections, fixes, etc.
• We’ve been paying monthly bill for the solar panel loan since November 2021, however, to date, the system has not yet been connected to Xcel, so we’re not receiving credit for energy our system is producing (one of the top “incentives” sold to us by Avolta in addition to tax rebates).
• We had an independent audit done on our system and they found several issues and hazards in the installation: Concave solar flashing, Missed studs, rafter damage, Touching solar panels, All wires touching roof, Unlevel, unsquared array, Lag bolts missed studs (see photos)
• We’ve had issues obtaining information about our Avolta contract, system info, key project dates, production info, etc.
• Contacts are unreachable.Initial Complaint

Contract Signed on 1/5/2022
Inaccurate information pulled on our house that would increase their sales by $30,000
requested cancelation on 7/11/22 since the project had not started due to the company failing to comply with HOA approval.
On 7/12/22 and 7/19/22, representatives used tactics of harassment and legal recourse to intimate us and browbeat us into accepting and moving on with the project.
on 7/19/22, I emailed the representative with my rights as a consumer for details on the project. The representative, Brandon C****, has used deception in these 2 encounters to force me into a position. I have emailed B. C**** with the information that I need to have to move forward, but as of 8/2/2022, I have not received any information. I have contacted the number on their website to speak with someone about the cancelation but have not been able to speak with a supervisor or member of management to resolve this issue.
