I refused their service and they continue to call at an average of 5 times from day from different local numbers every time. I have told them to stop calling and they just hang up and call from another number. I only want the calls to stop.

We leased a solar panel from Blue Raven in August of 2024. We have since come to realize claims about cost saving were blatantly fraudulent. We were told our energy costs would be reduced by 85%. They have more than tripled. It didn’t even reduce our electric bill by 50%. The payment for the lease is more than we were paying for our electric previously, plus we continue to pay half the cost of our electric bill. We were guaranteed the price of the payments would be fixed for the entirety of the lease. They increase by 50% after the first year. We cannot sell our home because the reality of the situation is clear to any buyer that looks into it. We cannot remove or continue to pay it ourselves without paying off the entirety of the loan, which is unaffordable for us. We had to call off a long planned international move at the last minute when a buyer backed out due to the solar lease. It has caused a huge crisis in our lives. I cannot understand how this company has retained an A+ rating from the BBB. Their rating helped us to feel confident in signing the lease. This company is predatory and fraudulent. Please reduce their rating to protect future consumers.

I recently signed up for solar installation through Blue Raven Solar and was informed that I would receive a monthly credit of $300 for 18 months as part of the BluePower Plus+ program. This was communicated to me as follows:
"BluePower Plus also covers your first 18 months of payments. Blue Raven will send you 18 checks for $300 to cover the balance, as your payments are still being made to Mosaic Financial. Come month 19, depending on how you apply the tax credit, your payment will either remain at $300 or bump up as high as $429. As we discussed, both options have benefits; you guys have time to decide how you would like to apply this money."
However, after installation, I was told by the sales agent that this payment arrangement was no longer applicable because I had opted for roof installation in the same quote. This was not disclosed to me when I signed up, and the original terms made no mention of a conditional change based on roofing inclusion.
      Expected Resolution:
I would like clarification on why the terms changed and why this condition was not disclosed upfront. Additionally, I would like to understand whether Blue Raven Solar will honor the original agreement as initially explained.

A reroof was included in the price of the customer's loan, which resulted in the total system cost exceeding the amount the customer was approved for—$75,000 through their financing provider. To ensure the project remained within the approved loan amount, a discount of $6,579 was authorized by upper management and applied to the proposal.
As a result of this discount, the Blue Power Plus (BP+) program was removed from the system design. The representative assigned to the account should have communicated this change to the customer. If that conversation did not occur, we will provide appropriate feedback and training to ensure clarity and proper handling in the future.
Because the approved discount exceeded the value of the BP+ program and the overall system cost is decreased due to the discount, Blue Raven will not be offering reimbursement checks for the first 18 months of loan payments.

I purchased a residential solar panel power system in May of 2018. The solar panels had a warranty of 20 or 25 years. I have a 15 panel system and 2 panels are only producing 60% of what the other panels are producing.
Blue Raven came out in August 2024 to investigate. After months of dragging their feet they finally told me that WESCO had finally agreed to replace the panels. However they have not sent me two replacement panels as promised.
Blue Raven stopped answering my emails and won’t return my phone calls.
They owe me two new solar panels plus loss of solar production since August’s 2024.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/13/2025

Blue Raven is in active communication with Wesco Solar who is supplying the panels. Once they are able to send them we will be able to schedule and complete the work. I've asked our work orders team who is handling communication to reach out to the customer and provide updates.

I am supposed to receive a check for $52.69 each month and I am missing 8 checks. I have contacted the sales department about 24 times over the last year and a half. I have explained the situation. Gone to the bank to track the checks that have been cashed. I keep being told each time I call the same thing- the finance department will get in touch with you, which has never happened. I have gone to the physical address on Quebec st., but it is a dilapidated building that is obviously not a business. I have tried to call every number I can find and am tired of explaining all of this every time I call even though all of the info is in the notes of previous calls. I’ve been polite, I’ve asked to speak with a manager and realized that this company has no intention of having contact with me or fulfilling their promise to pay me back a nominal rebate each month for 21 months for the very expensive solar system they installed improperly a few years ago.

in 2022 my panels went down, I paid over $2600 in 2022 going into 2023 in additional electricity bills. I contacted blue raven and eventually they got my system up and running even after not having all the proper equipment. Fast forward to 2024/2025 and my system is once again is not working requiring me to pay and additional bill since Dec 2024 totaling over $1400 since Dec24. I received on email on 1 may referencing a ****** **** as the supervisor. have received nothing else. I am requesting some help getting my system fixed or do I need to seek an attorney in order to sue Blue Raven for faulty equipment and poor customer service. They have no issue collecting their payment each month, and then do not even notify customer when their system is not working. Thank you and have a nice day.

I am rejecting this response because:

I have been informed that I must now pay $1200 to fix a 5G part.  This is slowly becoming the worst investment.  I am now once again paying a double bill.  Monthly for the panels which are not working and now an electric bill itself.  If I had it to do all over I would never get solar panels.  It is ultimately a scam, not only does Blue Raven eat monthly but now Dominion is eating also. At what point is the company responsible for faulty equipment.  I truly wish I could just have these panels off my house but then the company will sue for their remaining balance.  Even though in the last 3 years I have had to pay over $3000 in additional electric bills.

      Sincerely,

Solar panels were installed by Blue Raven in 2022. Approximately a year we had a leak and they came out and seemed to have fixed it. On January 13 of this year we contacted Blue Raven when we noticed leaks in our dining room ceiling. Someone came out and took pictures. On Feb. 18 a crew came out and removed all the panels and said the roof needed to be repaired. Damage was caused by the installation of the panels. They said they would get the roof repaired. Then they said they couldn't find anyone to replace the roof. It is now May 19 and our walls are showing damage also. In addition we have to pay the $335.54 payment on the solar panels as well the whole electric bill each month. We are retired and on fixed income. This is a terrible strain on our finances. We need the roof repaired as well as the damage done to the inside of the house asap. Also they need to reimburse us for the electric bills.

Due to delays in receiving contractor quotes, the removal and reinstallation process for this customer has taken longer than expected. We have been in communication with the customer, and it has been determined that they will be contacting their original roofing company to pursue a warranty-based replacement.
A concession has been approved to reimburse the customer for the loan payments made during this extended period, as well as to acknowledge the inconvenience caused by the prolonged duration of this work order. We remain in direct contact with the customer to ensure all issues are resolved as promptly as possible.

We were lied to by our sales rep about what our savings would be on our electric bill, we were not told we could cancel our contract, and he had us sign on a tablet and rushed through the signing process so we didn't get to read our contract before signing and were not provided a paper or digital copy to review before being asked to sign.
We were also lied to about the money we would receive for the tax credit/rebate, we were told we were going to get a check for $13k. We were not told that a lien would be placed on our home, we were promised additional panels if the ones we have underproduced
We were told the panels would eliminate our utility bill and gas bill and that we would get a check for credits at the end of the year.
We were not given a due date for our first payment on our loan terms, we were not told that fees would be baked into our loan.

      Business Response

      Date: 05/29/2025

Blue Raven strives to maintain transparency and honesty throughout the customer experience. At the beginning of the process, we conduct an introductory call during which we clearly outline our cancellation policy. The policy allows for cancellations without penalty within three business days prior to installation. As outlined in our contract, cancellations are not permitted once the installation has been completed. Our representatives are trained to review the contract thoroughly with each customer, and a digital copy of the signed agreement is sent to the customer via email for their records.
The cancellation policy is designed to give customers time to review the terms and conditions at their own pace after their initial meeting with our representative. If additional clarification is needed, customers are always welcome to contact our support team for assistance.
Regarding the federal tax credit, it is a non-refundable, dollar-for-dollar reduction in any federal income taxes owed. This is not a rebate or a check issued to the customer but rather a reduction in tax liability. This information is both included in the contract and reiterated during the introductory call.
As for the lien, it is placed on the home by the financing provider—not by Blue Raven. This is clearly outlined in the financing documents that the customer signs directly with their chosen financier.
It's also important to note that solar energy systems offset electricity usage, not natural gas. Therefore, any natural gas charges will continue to appear on the customer's utility bill even after solar installation.
Finally, the financing agreement signed by the customer includes a clear outline of the APR and an estimated loan start date. These terms are reflected in the customer’s monthly payment schedule.
Given that the system is currently performing at 107% of the original production estimate since its energization date, Blue Raven will not be offering a refund.

      Complaint: 23349255

I am rejecting this response because:

They can say that they review these things with us, but they did not. In fact the sales representative blatently lied to us telling us we would receive a $13,000 rebate check for the federal incentive for going solar. He even went as far as to tell us that a relative of his went solar and got a large check and that he was serioulsy considering going solar just because he wanted to receive the check. We were also told that our panels would produce enough energy that since our gas bill is with Excel energy that we would receive enough of a credit on our bill to not only cover our electric bill but also could carry over and cover our gas bill if we requested it. He also told us that we would also receive a rebate check at the end of the year for any remaining overages that we had left after credits had been applied to our bill. He went over the contract on his tablet and scimmed through everything pretty quickly while he verbally explained what we were signing. He did not tell us about being able to cancel our contract and when it came to signing he brought us right to the signature line and did not give us a chance to read what we were signing as he was very good with where he was stopping for our signature. As you can see, there are no signatures on either of the pages that say we can cancel our contract in the 3 days, so this validates our arguement that we were not provided this information. Just because BRS trains their sales reps how they claim to, does not mean that the actually do. I do not recall at any time receiving a call to go over the contract and I certainly do not recall him telling us we could cancel our contract. Also, I have searched my email and do not find any such email from BRS as they claim. Also, we were told that the panels would produce a certain level of energy and were not told that if they moved the panels to just being on our home that they would produce less energy. There is no new layout showing the panels only on the house or any wording stating that they would not provide additional panels if they did not produce at the levels we were promised due to the changes in the design layout. I was told on a call I made in the beginning when I questioned it that there was a new layout added to our contract stating that the energy production would be reduced and I was told that we singed this and agreed to it. This is a lie and if you review our contract you will see no such adjustments made to our contract. Also, they law requires that the payment schedule clearly state the due date and schedule of payment due dates, including the due date on the first payment, not an estimation of when they would be due. Also, the fact that BRS paid the first 5 months of payments while we were waiting for them to complete the installation and pass inspection shows they were in violation of the contract and what we were promised in regards to a timeline, otherwise, why would they make those payments for us. Businesses do not pay for customers loan payments if they are not in violation of their contract just because they want to be nice. That is not how businesses work as they are in business to make a profit, not pay for custmer's purchases. BRS likes to sound like they legitimately followed all laws and Federal guidelines with our solar purchase, but they violated a number of laws and need to cancel our contract as a result of their false and misleading practices. I have a real time voice message i sent of me complaining about being lied to by the sales rep about the tax credit "rebate check" that he used as a tool to trick us into buying into this scam. This was long before we realized how badly we were scammed and is evidence of my statement. Also, the last thing I want to say is that we were never told about a lien on our home or that it could impact our ability to take outa HELOC, refianance or sell our home and we were never told that their commission would be part of the principal on our loan and that we wold be paying interest on their sales commission. They provide a large visual aid to make it appear as if we were financing much less than we were which, if you are not paying attention,  you are led to believe that you are financing much less than you actually are and nowhere on that contract does it outline how much their commission/fees are and the way they present it is that we are paying for the panels, minus the tax credit. The whole entire thing was a scam and the sales rep came to our door, pitched the panels and then came back to sell my boyfriend and myself on the panels. I want proof that they emailed us information before we signed and that a phone call was made informing is of what they are claiming because in no way shape or form do I recall either of these occurring and as stated earlier, I do not find any emails from BRS prior to signing this bogus purchase contract.

      Sincerely,

      **** *******

A copy of the introductory call the customer had will be provided for clarification. The contract includes those cancellation pages so customers can review and if they wish to cancel they can print them out and send them to the company to cancel their account. The pages clearly outline the policy and as they are not required signatures it does not void the contract. All additional contracts the customer signed approving the design of the system will be provided for review. Blue Raven does not guarantee a timeline since there are many factors in the process which can be out of our control. Blue Raven offers courtesy payments for loans if the customers system is not running by the time the loan payments begin. The customer can find all financial information in the contract they signed with their financier which should include a start date for the payment. We strive for quick installation but occasionally there are hindrances which prevent us from installing as quickly as we wish, if these occur we will compensate customers for the payments.
