Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!!!!!After 10 years as a loyal customer, my equipment has started to fail. After hours on the phone, I was finally referred to a manager named Summer in ************ she was absolutely no help whatsoever. I explained everything to her and asked for her help in resolving the issue, but she was completely callous and showed absolutely no empathy. So disappointing that after 10 years of loyalty, I am now being forced to switch my service to a new company.

They send salesman out to sell you their product and dont follow through on what they say. We opted for solar through Vivint so they sent someone out, a supervisor at that. He went through all the options and recommended we go with a patio covered solar unit. So he ordered trees to be cut down. When they came to look at what was needed for installation, they said we could not get it done there and are hounding us to pay $2000 for tree cutting when we did not initially want them cut down. Although we were told by their ********************* that it was required for the installation. Not to mention he miscalculated the size of panels that were to go in backyard. Whenever we decided against it, company is coming after us for money that we supposedly owe due to their mistake.

This vivint is scam. Dont fall for it.. they promise to get you buy out then promise you to use their system for a week or two.. then if you dont like it they are gonna remove it for free.. then when the time you asked them to remove it they leave you no choice to stay.. because they just allowed it for 3 days only.. not a week or two so you are tied. Cancelling is not a chance. Promises broken. You need to pay installation if you transfer it.. this company *****. Scam people.. dont fall for it please guys! And they are more expensive!!!!!!

I purchased a DVR to record 24/7 of my already installed Vivint Generation 1 cameras. I was able to view playback and fast forward through footage at 2x, 4x and 8x speeds in the Vivint app. I bought the *** in November 2024. As of March/April 2025 the 4x and 8x playback was removed from my app. I called in to Vivint to inquire what happened. They said the software for 4x and 8x playback is only available if I purchase Generation 2 cameras at $400 each. I have 2 cameras and should not have to upgrade my equipment when it worked fine before their update. I have been with Vivint since 2011.

Sales person stated no installation fee, signed contract, then received a copy which included said fee, after calls received credit with Vivint. Told to pay finance company $ monthly, which I have done. Now being told I also need to pay $ to VIVINT. Asked to have service turned off immediately, they will NOT do so until I pay off the equipment. That is another 50 months. No where on my contract does it state this. Also, the equipment panel that I wanted, was system updated to save battery life for them, and did away with the feature that I wanted.

The service has been great, However BEWARE, they don't tell you the truth. We installed the Vivint system in our home in ***************. We moved 2 years later and were told, by a Vivint *********** Representative that we have two options, to take the equipment to the new home, or if we left the equipment, and the new owners signed up, (which we were told they did, we would not be liable for the equipment any longer, Vivint would give us an "equipment buyout." The new home in ************ already had Vivint Equipment and we transferred our account to this home. When they came to review, they told me that they would just put in a new board and front door lock for free as an upgrade. Now that we are moving again, we want to payoff the equipment loan $520 and Citizens, who no longer does business with Vivint, is saying we have two accounts that are still due, one on their website says it's closed, so we thought that was because the "equipment buyout" and not due. Vivint Lied to us. The Vegas home did not get an "equipment buyout" and the new home was charged for the "free" upgrades. BEWARE of the dishonesty.

I spent hours going back and forth trying to get the system account transferred from my ex husband to me. I have had a system for over ***************************************** my ex husbands name and they are refusing to allow him to transfer the system to my name until he signs another contract under his name to upgrade the equipment first. The equipment is outdated yet they have never reached out to upgrade the equipment in the last 14 years except to send me various equipment that I was told to install myself. And why would he upgrade equipment that isnt in his house? Absolutely ridiculous. The worst customer service there is. Im sure they will give us a hard time cancelling the service as well. Do not use Vivint!

purchased Vivint April 2023. After initial installation the next day I called the *** and told him I was unaware of the cost. We called customer service to downgrade my package to make it more affordable. The package was downgraded, and I was given new pricing in which I was satisfied. After a month the billing never changed, so I called and was told someone would contact me with 5-7 days. No one ever called a few months later I called again, I was told the same thing as month previous. Since then I have continued to call time after time, last month I found out that they never downgraded the package and they never was going to downgrade the package, because the *** never changed anything, although I spoke with customer. service along with ***. ***** phone call I made I was told the matter was sent to escalation department and I had to wait for them to call me back. I was misled by ***s and Im highly disappointed in how I was treated. This is unfair to me, as Im disabled and on a fixed income. Also last month when I spoke to customer service I gave them all the correct numbers that the *** and I agreed on, the *** then told me yes, I see that but but the amount of money I pay will increase, I told him I was fine with that because this matter had gone on for too long with the back and forth stuff, again I was told someone would call, that never happened. Never again will I sign up for something without having a print out in my hand. Vivint use ***s to knock on doors but the customer never gets what the *** sells them. Also when I spoke to customer service lady month I was told my bill would be credited for 2 months, I have been getting calls and emails saying Im behind, because the *** ***** do what he told me he would. This is my main reason of writing this review, this company makes promises but ***** intend on keeping them! So when I called today the *** saw that the promise was made but never put into action. This proves they lie a lot.

first day I talked to sales person.I was told that they were doing a credit background check and needed my social security number since my credit was good. I had a low amount to pay to start service. *****And they told me it was easy process. Scheduled a appointment for installer to come toy house.everything was not a problem. After their work I was given a tablet to sign my initials .then they left. After the second day I did not want the service.we were having problems.i didn't like the fact the company had to keep resetting my cameras and doorbell camera by phone.i demanded to cancel my service return everything. They sent installerwell this rat wheel went on to long. I demanded to cancel the service and send equipment back. They finally agreed they apologized for the trouble but guess what. After the cat mouse game.guess whatNow it was so called pass the return policy ******** I would be stuck paying the equipment fee over 2000 dollars .And on top of that if I didn't pay off the equipment first and I wanted to stop service.i would have to pay another 1800 fee. Another company ******* which forced me to get a ***** credit line **** card. I never signed for any line of credit on ****.somehow all my vivint equipment and service is being paid by fortiva credit card.i havent paid one dime ****** vivint because of this dispute.I haven't received one bill yet from this credit card.but every month ********************************************************************** ask for.and never agreed toThe worst. The most expensive. Entrapment agreement from a company and their sales person ever.

I used VIVINT for about a year and a half. I had the equipment installed and the installation guy was awesome. The equipment was faulty, the window would trip all the time and my alarm system would go off almost weekly. I called support and they told me that I needed to change the settings. The settings were fine until after using it for 6 months. I moved out of the house that was being serviced. I tried to cancel numerous times and was told that I either had to pay off the equipment first or that I would have to buyout my contract. I couldn't do either of them at the time and had my account on hold. When I was able to I called and did a buyout to cancel my contract. I had gotten billed 5 days before I canceled and the *** told me that he included that monthly payment in with the buyout price and would refund me the previous payment. They never did. They canceled and I was still getting billed. I finally got a hold of a supervisor that could refund me and stop the reoccurring payments. Overall, I think that the ***s need to be retrained and the equipment is mediocre. I would not recommend this company to anyone. ADT is better.
