Thank you for informing us about your concern with *************** equipment lease. Last month you were assessed annual local property taxes in the amount of approximately $170 (an e-mail was sent to let you know about this tax obligation). The Equipment Lease Agreement that you executed at the beginning of last year specifies on page one that your monthly payment will have all applicable taxes added. If you require further explanation of your payment obligations, our **************** desk is staffed and reachable @ ************** from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM Eastern Monday through Friday and can answer any questions you have about our commercial equipment leasing program. Please note, Clicklease is obligated to pay sales and property tax on all leased equipment, and the Equipment Lease Agreement states that all tax liabilities on the leased equipment are the Lessee's responsibility.Initial Complaint

I purchased a printer from Coldesi and this company is evidently the finance company they use for financing, however after paying $507 a month since October 2021 I somehow owe $5000 more than the original price! Based on what they told me, the $15k additional money is not interest but they cannot tell me what the additional fees are...I've asked for copies of the paperwork explaining this tremendous amount of additional fees where I signed it and agreed to it, but I have yet to receive it. I've gone back over my copies of the paperwork and I do not have it .Business Response

Thank you for letting us know of your concern. We exert our best effort to provide complete information about our lease program, and agreed upon monthly payments, when you sign up with Clicklease. Before you can electronically sign our lease agreement you must select the term (timeframe during which your business wants to lease the commercial equipment) along with the corresponding monthly payments. Selected lease term and monthly payments are then incorporated into the lease agreement and presented to you for electronic signature. When signing the selected lease, the monthly payment and term are disclosed prominently on page one of the lease agreement in an attempt to make the total lease obligation clear. We understand that you already spoke with one of our representatives who explained what accommodations we are willing to make to cancel your lease; please reach out to us any time Monday through Friday between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM eastern if you would like to pursue the proposed resolution further.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: The gentleman that I spoke to about this did NOT offer me a resolution. He asked me what I felt would be a "fair" resolution and he did not like my response and he did NOT offer me anything. I am open to resolving this but as of right now, no I will not remove my complaint or any bad reviews . My issue is your company just lists your monthly payment, nowhere on the paperwork does it state what the total price will be at the end of the lease. Also when I asked him where the additional $15,000.00 goes too and he couldn't tell me. Just advised me that it was "fees", then he advised me it was sales tax that has to be paid every month however the sales tax rate here in ** is ****% which just equals $1034.78 total for the machine. I realize I am stuck with paying your company basically 100% interest, however other consumers need to be aware to start doing their own calculations when working with your company because the way you operate is very misleading and honestly unethical in my opinion. After paying on this machine I currently owe more than $20,000 which is more than it costs to begin with. Oh and you also made me pay almost $400 in property taxes, that should be deducted in the additional $15,000.00 you are receiving from me every month.
Sincerely,

We are sorry to hear that you feel a reasonable effort to negotiate an amicable settlement of your account was not undertaken by us during our last conversation. We have investigated the points you raised during our last conversation and found that you confirmed your acceptance of our terms in an October 11, 2021 e-mail to the facilitator that introduced you to Clicklease. The following day, October 12th, you entered our system, selected a lease term with the corresponding monthly payment, and electronically signed our lease agreement. As noted in our previous response, the payment amount and number of payments due in our lease agreement were conveyed at the time of lease generation, and presented during lease signing. In our last conversation you also mentioned that you had some issues with the performance of the leased printer, however we confirmed that the manufacturer provided timely response to your concerns and resolved the performance concern raised regarding the printer's function. Please note, the performance of your leased equipment is not guaranteed by Clicklease, however as a courtesy we wanted to be sure there was no issue in that regard. The manager of the individual you spoke with previously will call you tomorrow in an additional attempt to resolve your account with us.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:My biggest issue with your company is the way you present the lease is very misleading...You say 0 interest etc, but you do not disclose anywhere all of the additional fees you charge the customers. You just say hey your payments are x amount and make it look all neat and easy. I know I am stuck in this lease until it is paid off, I will no longer use your company moving forward. I cant be the only person that called to get their payoff for their machine only to find out they owe more on it after a year and a half of paying on it. I need and want to trade the machine in for a larger machine to handle the volume of productivity I do faster however financially they are not going to give me more money than I originally paid for it. So I will just have to deal with it until I pay it off. I do intend to make more people aware of your process and tell consumers to make sure they actually do the math before signing anything from your company. Do not call me to offer any resolution, any resolution you are willing to offer will have to be in writing since the last gentleman I spoke to told your company he offered me a resolution and he did not, I do not want anyone else confusing any offers.
Sincerely,

I used ClickLease to purchase equipment for my business, they offer and claim "no interest" but they charged a "financing fee" off almost 100% of what my purchase price was. I have paid -on autopay- for over a year thinking I was close to being paid off. I went on to check the status and found out I owe almost as much as was financed! This "no interest" language is deceptive and borderline fraudulent. The "financing fee" is similar to loan sharking and should not be legal to any business, no matter the wording.Business Response

We cant find any record of this customer in our database using any of the contact information provided. So we cant provide any specific information, but we can offer some general context.
We use a proprietary algorithm to offer custom payment amounts for every customer that applies. The amount that each customer pays is based on dozens of factors. This enables us to approve customers that would otherwise be denied and we are able to offer the best terms for each individual customer. High-risk customers will have higher payment amounts and more lease fees to offset that risk.
We offer leases set up over a set number of months that customers agree to in the application process on the first page of the lease agreement. So the customer would have agreed to 24 payments of a set amount each month.
We dont use the phrase no interest or interest free in any of our marketing or sales materials. Instead we talk about our easy application, high approvals, and affordable payments.Initial Complaint

Clicklease is very vague in their leasing terms with "plus applicable taxes and fees" being part of their leasing contract. They do not provide any place to view your total remaining lease balance nor is there a breakdown of each payment. I contacted clicklease support after my book keeper noticed that the monthly transactions from *********** were not the same. After contacting support, they mentioned that they do not know why I am being charged different monthly amounts but that they will be in touch with a manager most likely after my next payment to them has gone through.Business Response

As the Owner of CJs Pizza & Subs, and the signer of the lease agreement, the customer is a personal guarantor for the business lease. This is explained in the lease agreement under the section Continuing Guaranty of Indebtedness, specifically item 2. We arent attaching a copy of the lease agreement as the customer says he has already received it, but we certainly can provide it upon request.
As a personal guarantor, the customer is responsible for ensuring payment on the lease and we can report to the credit bureau regarding missed payments.Customer Answer

I got a loan for equipment in the amount of 15k. I have went 90 days behind in payments due to a financial hardship. The balance on my credit report started as *****. And within a month it is showing the balance is ***** dollars. Is that legal ?Business Response

I dont see an account with the email, phone number, or address provided in this complaint, but I do have someone with the same name in the same city. Assuming its the same account (maybe a difference in business vs personal contact information), that account has been past due for 6 months (since June 23).
According to our records, the report we sent to the credit bureau hasnt changed/increased in the last few months. We report the original invoiced amount and the total amount due to buy out the lease with all lease fees and late fees as outlined in the lease agreement. Neither of those is the amount due to bring the lease current.
Both numbers were reported to the credit bureau both months. It sounds like the customer may have looked at different numbers each month, or that there was some sort of delay in processing the report we sent.
Wed love to have the customer call us so we can share the amount needed to get this lease current and make some payment arrangements.Initial Complaint

Unfortunately, Clicklease is not responsible for the delivery of the equipment. We are only responsible for financing. We pay the seller the full invoiced price of the equipment on the day the lease agreement is signed. The first monthly lease payment is due 30 days later and those payments are locked in. Our lease agreement includes a clause explaining that the customer has 5 days after signing to let us know about a problem with the delivery or condition of the equipment. But any cancellation of the lease at this point requires us to work within the sellers return policy.
We have reached out to this seller and they have explained that they do not offer returns or refunds once an order has been placed because they build custom power washing rigs. They have already invested time and money in building the customers custom-made equipment.
Though it is out of our control, we understand that this delay is frustrating and doesnt represent the customer experience we try to provide. We have reached out to this vendor to explain that this is unacceptable for future leases, but unfortunately, our hands are tied regarding this agreement.
The customer needs to reach out directly to the seller to inquire about completion and delivery of the equipment.Initial Complaint

On March 21, 2022 I enter into an agreement to buy four new vending machines the loan was for $13,431 over 33 months, I received four very used old machines without a manual from Snackmasters in Grand Prairie Texas. The machines were delivered on 4 1 2022, and they have broken down every week since owning. They were not new and definitely not worth 13,000. I am constantly repairing the machines and as of today I spent 3,128 trying to keep the machines working. I have tried to reach out to clicklease to let them I was not given to what I agreed to pay for. I have not heard from them, but I have also not missed a payment. I have paid 3,256 so far and I my machines are constantly being repaired. I feel like I have entered into a fraudulent contract and was baited then switch to junk machines, The machines I have I could have both for 1000.00 a machine on any used vending machine site. I need to understand why I am paying 13,000 for machines they are only worth about 4,000. Clicklease has refused to talk me and they have ignored my many complaints. I need help because they gave me a loan for new machines and sent me junk machines. I need a fair resolution this issue. Doug H******* signed this contract and I feel they knew they were selling me faulty equipment. I am asking the BBB to help me resolve this issue fairly. I can have my repair man send an affidavit of all of the work that has been done to the machines beginning May 1st and every week since them. I have been scammed by Clicklease and this should be considered criminal.Business Response

The customer referenced her lease agreement, which we’ve attached here. Item 3 of the lease agreement explains that the customer has 5 days to let us know if the equipment is in unacceptable condition. After that time, any issues with the quality or performance of the equipment need to be addressed with the seller.
We reached out to this seller when the customer initially complained about their equipment. The seller said the customer had not reached out to them. If they had, they would have known that the vendor offers a 90 day parts warrantee and in some cases a 30 day labor warrantee. We did not hear from the customer again until a single chat last week when we asked her to call in so the correct department could assist her. We don’t have a record that she ever called in again.
Clicklease is a financing company and we work with independent sellers around the country. We pay the seller the full invoiced price and we take on the risk and administration of collecting according to the terms of the lease agreement. The equipment seller is responsible for delivering the equipment listed in the lease agreement. At the time of signing, the customer agrees upon the value of the equipment listed in the invoice. This amount is used to determine lease fees and monthly lease payments.
Unfortunately, we are unable to alter the terms of the lease agreement, but if the customer would like to purchase their lease in full, we might be able to offer a small discount. They would need to call in to discuss that option with our customer service team.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I have phone records that show I have called Click Lease immediately and told them that the vendor they sent me to did a bait and switch. I called their vendor multiple times to complain, I can send phone records. Their website does not allow complaints, their website would not allow me to set up login, they make it nearly impossible to reach them. I have called several times each month and I also have a repair man that can send you invoices of all the times he has to repair the machine, Snackmasters would never come out and service the machines because they stated the drive was too far. Do you need phone records of all my attempts to complains. I have 2 machines still not working, I had to order new parts for. This company swindle me and sent me to their vendor who gave me broken and used machines with a 90 day warranty. I want their company to acknowledge their fraudulent practice of bait and switch. I want to pay a fair price for the broken used machines I have and not be overcharged for this transaction.

We do have an online customer portal. There’s a login button at the top right corner of our website. From there, customers can create a password or they can login. We also have a customer service team standing by during regular business hours. They are happy to discuss this customer’s concerns via phone or chat.
We understand that the customer is unhappy with the quality of the equipment she purchased, but that is an issue that needs to be addressed directly with the seller. We are just a financing company. We have no control over or involvement with the quality or listed price of the equipment.
We are contractually bound to the terms of our lease agreement, including the payment amounts which the customer agreed to. As stated in the lease agreement, Clicklease is not responsible for any maintenance or repairs. We encourage the customer to contact the equipment seller to discuss any needed maintenance or repairs.Initial Complaint

We were approved for up to $25k. We signed the loan docs and waited for our product (a laser from OM Tech laser) to arrive. After some time, I contacted OM Tech laser and was told that there was an issue the loan with no further details. I was then forwarded to *********** and was told that the drivers license photo submitted (my husband's license) when the loan was applied for was fraudulent. I asked to speak to a manager and was told again that the license was fraudulent. I was told that the issue was that the lettering for the drivers license number, the date of birth, and the last name looked to have been doctored. The manger also told me that the photo was black and white and that was also a red flag. She was polite but also incredibly dismissive. She said that she had many Georgia licenses presently before her as we spoke and none of them looked like my husband's license. I took the time after the conversation to search at the Department of driver services website with regard to drivers licenses and saw quite plainly that all **************** licenses issued after 2019 feature a black and white photo. Also apparent on that page is what looks obviously to me to be darker lettering for the drivers license number, date of birth, and the last name. She told me that since we had submitted a fraudulent id, that there was no way to send them anything else to prove that we were not committing fraud and that we would not be considered for financing no matter what proof we possessed. We are likely to move forward with the purchase of the laser. We are beyond capable of paying for the laser up front. We are small business and were looking to give *********** a try with this small purchase as we are planning to purchase a much more expensive machine from OM Tech next year. We are also very concerned that there are some inappropriate business practices at *********** which is scary considering how much financial information sent to them to process our loan application.Business Response

Unfortunately we can't overturn an approval decision, especially one that was made by our fraud detection team. The customer did speak to a customer service manager about their account and she explained why we can't accept the ** that was submitted as a valid **. This is a fraud prevention measure. We do apologize for the late approval reversal. I understand that is frustrating, but all of our approvals are conditional on passing a fraud review which we do after the equipment is selected. It's usually just a formality, but in this case it did result in a decision reversal.
The customer is welcome to reapply in 30 days with a different driver's license.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. I am still concerned with regard to their business practices. I am concerned that they ask for your bank account for making loan payments and then after that reverse a loan approval. However, I have decided to move on from this confusing and exasperating situation. I have discussed the matter directly with management of the business from whom we are purchasing the equipment and have been assured that when we are ready to make a larger purchase next year, we will not have to deal with ClickLease as they use another company for high dollar loans.

In January, 2022, due to ClickLease computer glitch, they processed a payment twice in one month. Lease agreement was for a monthly payment. This unauthorized payment led to my account being over drawn and consequently the payment being returned. ClickLease the bad the audacity to charge me $40 for the returned fee which happened due to their error. Since then, I had spoke with at least 3 different members and their customer support. They agreed it was an error on their part but its been promises and no correction. Its $40 but I had spent significant amount of my time without any resolve. They owe me for the fees and for my time.Business Response

This customer actually missed 3 payments which is why he has incurred some additional fees. As a customer courtesy to compensate for the payment error in January, we waived fees associated with one of the missed payments. And we have of course, corrected the payment error. But we do still need to collect remaining late lease payments and associated fees. We're sorry for the confusion. Our customer service representative probably discussed crediting fees, which is not the same as waiving them or sending a payment back to the customer.
