      It has been 1.5 years since my mother's passing and the transfer of her stocks to my sister and I. They claimed not to get my mother's information for transfer upon death, therefore, it's been a battle to get any help. Even though we gave them copies of the trust, sent an affidavit and everything else they requested, they are still playing the "well, we are reviewing" game. They have done this for over a year, and now the stocks that we would have sold, transferred, etc. have taken a huge loss that cannot be recovered. Waiting time just to get someone on the phone is usually 45 mins. And then, often times I am cut off. I believe this company needs either more help or better morals as far a their executive team is concerned. You are only as good as the employees you train. So disappointed. Case still not resolved as of this day.

      After my husband died, I waited a year and a half to receive the money in his account. I did everything they asked more than once. I eventually elicited a lawyer to communicate with the company. I opened an account in my name as they required so they could transfer the money to my account. It was closed due to no action. I was asked to open another account and again it was closed for the same reason. By the time I got my money, I was beyond frustrated. I will never recommend this company for the way it treated me during a very vulnerable time. Regardless, no one should experience this kind of customer service.

      Very slow in transfering IRA accounts assets to beneficiary and taking over two months to complete paperwork and blaming it on the mail room.

      Choose Etrade if you just want an OK experience. I have been a customer for over 20 years. The customer service is getting very inconsistent and mediocre. They are generally unhelpful. The website slows down during active markets so be careful if you are an active trader. When I have tried to connect with the tech department they just blame me and my own technology and do not take the time or have the sophistication to try to help with the problems. If you just want an OK experience choose Etrade.

      I wish there was an option to leave no stars, because thats what they deserve. Just deposited a $12k check into my account, and the minute the check clears they restrict my account for unusual activity until i contact them.
      I have contacted them dozens of times and uploaded the required forms of ID almost a dozen times.
      I have filled out signed and uploaded the wire request pdf multiple times.
      I have uploaded a handwritten and signed a wire request form multiple times.
      I answer every question they ask me to "verify" my identity.
      No matter what, they deny my uploaded forms of ID for stupid reasons, leaving my account restricted.
      I have been out of work temporarily for a while so I was looking forward to using this money to pay bills and purchase christmas gifts. Thanks to them its looking like Christmas for my boys is ruined. IWILL NOT let this go and I will do whatever it takes to get my money.

      I opened an account with ETRADE a couple weeks ago, and within a day it was put on restricted status because they wanted a copy of my physical SS card. I told them I haven't had one or needed one for decades. They said a copy of my W-2 that showed my SSN and Name in the same place would be sufficient. I thought that was overkill and showed them more information about myself than they needed to know, but I provided it to them, only for them to change the rules and say it was insufficient for verification. So I told them I wanted to cancel the account and get my money back. ETRADE is refusing to release my funds without verifying my identity with a physical SS card. It is odd that they didn't need validation of my identity to accept my money, but they do need validation to release it. The only way for me to get my money back is for me to either request a SS card (which I haven't needed for any other bank purchase in my life) or have my bank create a transfer to an external bank, which ironically entails giving ETRADE even more money (cents, but still), and then they have to request a transfer from ETRADE to my checking account - because the rep at ETRADE says they "have to honor a request from another bank." Well, they should also honor a person's request to cancel an account and get their money back. But they make you go through this long drawn out process because the longer they have your money in their bank, the more money they can make off it. They are holding MY money hostage and I don't appreciate it. I will never use or recommend ETRADE again. I can't believe I have to even give them one star to submit this complaint.

      E*trade does not protect their customers from big stock companies that rip us off with their reorganization fees. I received less money for a stocks I owned 1 year ago, they paid me out and I got pennys, then I got charged $34 for reorganization. This is robbery. The stock is Ebon. They should be the ones to absorb this cost. Instead the we suffer lost plus reorganization fees.

      I am the personal representative for an estate case. I have been trying for one year to liquiidate tan account for the deceased. I have followed steps, filed numerous pages of information. Denied in the end after being promised that it would only take days repeatedly. Absolutely a disgrace! This company is horrid. I would NEVER do any business with them. I am letting others know my experience with them to avoid the same disgrace.

      I have traded futures, options and equities with etrade. 2 weeks ago, I put in a trade on their app and the price hit the limit price that I set and the open order was removed from my orders, meaning the order was executed and I should have had the position in my portfolio. However, the position was not there. No open order, no position, but the market was moving and the losses on the account was appearing on top of the screen. This lasted for a few minutes before the position appeared in my account and I closed it with loss. The same day it happened to me on etrade's regular website and I called etrade customer service. They connected me to their futures desk and i explained the situation. The agent told me that this probably happened because of a temporary issue and shouldn't happen frequently. I tried to explain again that it makes one hesitant about trading when there are system glitches. He said it shouldn't happen again and this part ended.
      Last week on thursday evening, I placed a few orders and closed them because I don't like to sleep with the stress of an open position. Before going to bed at night, I checked all the open orders and current positions on the etrade app, as I do every day. Open orders in my futures account were blank and so was the positions tab. I went t bed. Next morning I woke up and when i looked at my phone, there was an open position in my account which was losing value. I closed the position immediately and called etrade. I was connected to futures desk again and explained the situation. I told them I had an issue with the app the week before as well. He asked me why I was trading on this app if I don't like it. I asked that the amount that i lost because of this system glitch. Later, I was told they didn't find a system glitch and they would not reimburse my loss from this particular trade.
      I feel like etrade stole from me. I hope other people who had similar issues come out and we can bring this to the attention of .public.
