I went to the store today to exchange 16 items. I brought the items to the cashier & told her that I would like to exchange. She asked if I had the *********** told her no. I asked if it was okay for me to leave them there while I shopped & she told me yes. After shopping, I went to the same register to swap. She said she couldn't process the exchange without the receipt. I told her Dollar Tree online exchange policy states, Without the original receipt, items can be exchanged at the current scanned ********** pulled it up on my phone. She asked if I would like to speak to the store *********** said yes. I spoke to ******* on for 9 minutes. She said the policy changed at the beginning of the *********** couldn't exchange without a receipt due to increased embezzlement. I asked if the policy changed 10 months ago, why is the website not updated? I also asked if it was posted anywhere in the store, which they said no. I offered for her to look up previous purchases using my credit card, but she said their system doesnt allow that. She said these new changes were emailed & verbalized by the DM. She said if they process these exchanges the employees would be investigated. I said, Well, if no one is doing anything wrong then that shouldnt be an issue. She did not want to go against what she had been told to do and have to answer to that. Additionally, I exchanged a few items in **********, ** while I was on my lunch break a few weeks ago without any issue. My opinion is this is not a corporate change & an attempt to prevent customers from exchanging items to make their ***************** seems like they dont have any turnover. I could be wrong, but either way, it is bad customer service to openly put you do exchanges without receipts and then turn people away. I was able to get my exchange processed after standing my ground, but I won't be shopping at Dollar Tree in the future & will be sharing my experience with my friends, family, and community.

I placed an online order of pumpkin candle holders (24 count) only to receive six bottles of ammonia instead.
Upon calling their “customer service” line to have this resolved, they basically told me the burden is now on me and the only way I can get my money back is by lugging these heavy bottles into my nearest location and asking for a refund.
They also said they would not re-issue my order as it had been “successfully delivered” despite not even being close to what I had ordered. They told me I could submit a new order, with no discount and not even expedited shipping for this egregious mistake.
Absolutely deplorable on Dollar Tree’s part, they should be ashamed.

Offered my autistic son a job after an interview and now they refuse to follow up or answer their phones. Concerns of discrimination and poor hr policies.

The manager at the Hampton, SC is extremely rude to his employees and customers. I visited the store to purchase some gallons last minute for my son’s signing day. The store didn’t have a large variety of “Congrats” balloons and the ones they did have the majority were not in stock. I asked if I could buy any of the displays. The manager rudely says “ No, you can’t have any of my displays. I’m not selling them”. I then asked about two solid colors that were hanging in the store. He at first said he didn’t have them in stock either but when I ask that they put air in them and sell, he magically found some. He manager was extremely rude about the balloons. At the end of the day, it’s not the customer’s fault that the store is slack ordering items. I did not have time to go back and forth or entertain his foul behavior because I had to get to my son’s signing. As I was checking out, an employee told him that they didn’t have anymore small bags and I inquired about using larger ones. His response to her with me and another customer in line was “They will carry their stuff out in their hands, they’re not getting my big bags”. At that point, I had enough and told him he need to stop talking about customers like that and told him he didn’t have any respect. He then asked, who was I talking to. I told him I was talking to him and I was patient about the balloons and was not going to listen to him continue to speak about customers that way. He then says, I wasn’t talking to you. I then said, you’re talking about me because I’m a customer and told him I was calling home office. He then says,”yall always ready to call home office. You can leave out of the store”. He repeatedly told me I could leave just because I was telling him he needed to learn how to treat his customers and he had no reason to behave that easy towards us and that’s we are the reason the store is in business. He then goes in the office and close the door. Very rude, unprofessional.

Since I'm no longer able to drive due to disability, I was excited when Dollar Tree announced delivery service, with an offer of free first delivery. I was shocked during checkout that while the $3.99 delivery fee was credited, there was a surprise $25 fee that checkout indicated is to cover various Dollar Tree expenses. I have screen prints to prove this is their practice. It is highly deceptive to not mention this anywhere before a person goes through the ordering process and starts the checkout. I've always been a loyal customer, but shame on Dollar Tree for adding a surprise undisclosed $25 fee on a "free" delivery.

This company is no* *** accredited. It figures. I dare you to try and find a contact email address for a customer service department, you can't. I was going to tell them how disappointed I at them for shrinking the amount of their package by 54%, but still charging the same amount. I know some will say it's just a dollar. I disagree, it's a lot more important than that. A little while back they raised their prices by 25%. Now they double their profits by cutting the size of the package by nearly 50% They need to remember who their target customer is. It is often some of the most financially insecure customers. They are no longer the value they used to be. I'll bet they continue to close hundreds of more stores as consumers realize how they are being taken advantage of and begin to shop elsewhere.

This is the 2nd time this month a woman claiming to work at Dollar Tree has harassed me. They have tried to defame my character in front of other members of the community. As an outstanding member and activist of the community I am obligated to report this matter. A fair skin Hispanic woman with a green shirt and no nametag tried to come closer to me and harass me and asked me to open my bag. I told her to call the police immediately. She walked into her office and didn't come out to resolve the situation she created. Black Cashier ******** *idn't want to give her name. She didn't want to give me the Hispanic "manager"'s name or her name I had to wait for the receipt to be printed. She yelled at me 10 seconds into my shopping experience. She did not "What's in the bag? What did you take?" I asked her to open my bag and check then. I had just walked into the store. When she accused me of stealing in front of all those people. Then when i told her check the cameras or my bag she walked away. Dollar Tree - ****** **** *** ***** ** ****** Beach, Ny
