I leased a Volkswagen ID4 in 2023. It has approximately ****** miles. I brought in my car February 24, 2025 because of safety recalls. As of March 19th, I still do not have my car. There is an issue with the software and they do not know how to fix and are waiting for Volkswagen engineers in ******* to get back to them. They gave me a loaner, but it is gas which means I am paying for gas instead of charging at home (I also have solar so I don't really pay for the charging). The gas money is coming out of my pocket. This is a lease so the longer they have my car, the more money I am wasting as I can not use it. I have about 1 1/2 years left out of a 3 year lease. There have been numerous recalls for this car already. While I have complained to customer care , I get no updates from either the dealer or Volkswagen customer care. It is going through a process to see if they will buy the remaining portion of my lease but they say it can take up to 60 days. This car is not that old and has only exceeded the lemon law in ** by 400 miles but as a result I can't go through that route. I want to see if you can help expedite this process to make a determination and also compensate me for my troubles, payment of gas and loss of use during a fixed lease period.Initial Complaint

** is endangering US consumers.- I purchased a 2019 VW Atlas NEW in 2019, ***** ****** VW in ******, ** (now called East Dallas VW)- The car currently has ~****** miles, and has been taken to a ** dealer the entire life of the vehicle.- The car had a couple of issues that were fixed under warranty - in 2024, out of warranty, it had a seat belt issue - which led to my driving back ~200 miles with a seat belt, endangering my life. Paid out of pocket to repair.- in Jan 2025, the steering wheel felt light. I took to East Dallas ** dealer on 1/20/2025 - They charged me to diagnose the problem - and told me the steering rack assembly had to be replaced as they found excessive play inside the steering gear. It was considered DANGEROUS and I was informed NOT to drive the car.- I was given an estimate of $1988.75 to repair this.- They didnt have a part, but believed they could get the necessary part reasonably soon.- It is NOW 3/19/2025, just about 2 months since this repair visit.- ** still has not gotten the necessary part to the dealership.- The 2019 Atlas has sat on my drive way for 2 months - I've been paying insurance, had to make alternative transportation, etc...- and NO ********** can a car manufacturer sell a car to customers, THEN NOT HAVE A REPAIR PART AVAILABLE TO THE CONSUMER? Its not 106 years old, its 6 years old!!!!Initial Complaint

I bought a 2023 Volkswagen Jetta on 08/19/2023 at the Volkswagen of *********************. There were 11 miles at the time of purchase. The car has had several defects present since the purchase was made clearly indicating a lemon was sold. Rear break pads - The rear break pads were the incorrect breaks installed by the manufacturer. This was not disclosed at the time of purchase. The breaks needed to be changed less than a year into ownership. I was told by the Volkswagen of Nanuet team on 08/16/2024 that the breaks were knowingly inferior at the time of manufacturing. Infotainment system - the infotainment system never worked properly. A ever present echo exists when speaking on the phone through the infotainment system. Forcing me to handle my phone when driving which is dangerous. I am not able to use the *** function while on the phone as a result and completely defeats the purpose of a handsfree infotainment system. I was told by the Volkswagen of Nanuet team that there is no fix on 08/16/2024 and again on 12/10/2024. Head Gasket leak - the head gasket has a leak that goes into the exhaust through a faulty piston. The entire engine had to be taken apart. I was told by the service manager at Volkswagen of Nanuet (***** ********) that the head gasket installed on my vehicle was the incorrect product during manufacturing. This was the third product that was inferior to incorrect installed by the manufacturer.I submitted a buy back claim with the regional manager of Volkswagen (*****) and was told that I would receive a decision within 60 days of the date my car was last put into the shop (12/30/2024) The 60 day time frame lapsed on 02/27/2025. I spoke to ** customer care ***** Ashia on 03/05/2025, ***** on 03/13/2025 and ****** on 03/18/2025. They all said my case has not been addressed and no determination has been made. It is almost 90 days beyond the initial case opening and I have not heard from a ** buy back team member.Customer Answer

I would like to reiterate that as a result of the defects which are completely at fault of the manufacturer my cars resale value has decreased significantly. I am not able to get fair market value if I wanted to sell the car due to the defects. I demand a refund and be made whole. I bought this car in good faith from what I assumed was a reputable manufacturer.Customer Answer

If you look at the mileage of my car going in and out of the last service order the car appears to have gained 900miles while in the shop. It appears that someone may have tampered with the odometer.Customer Answer

I purchased a 2022 **** Q5 plug-in hybrid expecting full ** functionality. However, due to ***** Recall No. 24V898, I have been unable to charge the vehicle for five months and **** has provided no repair timeline. Their only response has been to tell me to just use gas, despite the fact that I paid a premium for a plug-in hybrid and do not wish to drive a gas vehicle.Audi of America refuses to offer a buyback or loaner vehicle, even though the defect significantly impairs the cars intended use and value. This is a clear violation of consumer protection laws, including the ********-**** Warranty Act, and *** regulations on deceptive practices.Resolution Requested I am requesting that Audi of America:1.Repurchase my vehicle at fair market value before the recall devalued it, OR 2.Provide an immediate ** loaner until they can restore the ** functionality I paid ************ cannot market and sell plug-in hybrids while failing to provide a fix when they become undriveable as intended. I expect prompt action to resolve this matter.Initial Complaint

The car vibrates excessively when in drive or reverse and the brake is being held. Vibrations stop if car is put in neutral. Car also hesitates when driving. And is a major safety issue when driving. The vibration is also in my opinion a safety concern because its causing excessive wear and tear on other parts of the car. The dealership acknowledged that theres excessive play or wear in the dogbone mount but refused to replace it because I was told that part should not be bad because theres less then 30k miles. I am beyond frustrated how such a large car company doesnt stand behind there products. I would expect them to at least attempt to replace the parts that could cause this. But to do absolutely nothing is un expectable.Initial Complaint

On February 12th, I leased a brand-new 2025 **** ** 5 from ************. When I received the vehicle, I immediately noticed that the *** light was illuminated. I reported this issue within two days, and a service appointment was scheduled for February 21st to reprogram the *** ********* the appointment on February 21st, I dropped the car off for service. A few hours later, I received a detailed video and diagnostic report. The diagnosis revealed that a faulty module (J949) was to blame, and nearly all sensors, cameras, and keys required recalibration. I was then informed that the J949 module was on backorder from *******, with an expected delay of 6 to 8 weeks or even longer.Since I was not willing to drive the car with the *** light onand the vehicle had only been driven 300 milesit essentially remained grounded. After the first software update fix failed, the service department contacted me a week later to attempt another fix, requesting the second key. I provided the key, and the following day, they confirmed that the issue had been resolved. In total, the car was in service for 15 days.Throughout this ordeal, **** America refused any settlement for this pre-existing condition and declined a buyback offer. The false initial diagnosis and the unexpected issues with a brand-new car have severely undermined my trust in ***** brand I have been loyal to through three vehicles. Moreover, I incurred significant financial losses amounting to thousands of dollars due to having to cancel the sale of my previous car, as I had not anticipated the ** 5 being out of service for months.Initial Complaint

Subject: Formal Complaint Against Volkswagen *************************************,I am writing to formally file a complaint against Volkswagen Bay Ridge regarding the ongoing issues I have faced with my leased Volkswagen Tiguan. Since the beginning of my lease, I have experienced a recurring problem where a warning light appears on the dashboard, and the vehicle suddenly stops accelerating while displaying a low oil level message.Despite bringing my car to the dealership three times over two years, they would temporarily fix the issue, but it would reoccur within three months. In May 2024, the issue happened again, but this time, the dealership failed to repair it. They initially told me they needed to keep the vehicle for one week, which then extended to two weeks, and eventually, they kept it for three monthsall without providing a loaner vehicle.During this period, I had to rely on **** daily to commute to work, which was a significant financial burden. In November 2024, after escalating the issue with Volkswagen USA, I was finally provided with a loaner car. However, Volkswagen ********* repeatedly called me to return the loaner, despite my car not being repaired. Eventually, they offered to terminate my lease and put me in another car, but this process felt forced. I was left with no choice but to accept a new vehicle with a higher monthly payment, even though I no longer wanted to deal with Volkswagen.Given that I paid my lease for three months while the dealership kept my car and did not provide me with a loaner, I requested a refund for those payments. However, Volkswagen ********* has failed to take responsibility. As a fair resolution, I demand a refund for those three months or, at the very least, have the equivalent amount applied toward my current lease. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to pursue legal *********** Regards,Aia ******Initial Complaint

I purchased a car from this maker and it has been in the shop for issues twice for a total of over 5 months. I asked them for some compensation for lost time at work and payments for a car that was unusable due to their poor design. They refused any kind of compensation whatsoever. I will never purchase this brand again.Initial Complaint

Repeated issues with computer systems in car. unable to use safety and cruise and smart features after repeated repair attempts. These features were the primary reason we bought this make/model/trim level and these have been completely unreliable since owning the vehicle.
