1 starTerrible, disrespectful, unprofessional & illegal discriminatory practices against people of color, especially with good *************************** theft. Just recently applied for a Credit Card they kept asking you to apply for again multiple times for one of their new Cash Rewards Credit Card, only to jack up your Credit & deny your request. As of yesterday, almost two weeks later I still haven't received the Credit Card, but I told them I would be sending it right back when I do. My Score was up to almost at eight hundred from those two past years, I got approved in two minutes for a good limit and decent Cash Rewards, however they wanted me to be at their highest interest rate of eighteen percent. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt with all the s**** up's (Fraud) that I have incurred with them & all my accounts in the years I have been with them. They messed up my credit two years ago applying for a car loan when they kept begging to apply for ************** loans. This didn't resonate with me, so I called to request that department to check on ********* said it would take a few days & to call back. I did & this went on again & each time explaining why I put the request in the first place. I was told twice they had no answer & that it was my Credit Score that determined the interest rate. Well, my credit score as I mention previously was almost eight hundred & when they pulled it my Credit Score has dropped down to one hundred & twenty points, that is a steep drop. Now they want to try & use the drop Score that they cause, to not give me the lowest interest rate out now which is five percent now to start. It is amazing that even the ***'s in that department say that is odd to have a good Credit Score, to get a great Credit Card with a great limit but, that it's the same high interest rate I had two years ago when they messed up my credit the first time. It should not be the same this year with an improved Credit Score it should be way lower. **** has failed again!!!Review fromAshley S

1 starNavy Federal is a rip off bank. They adding late fees to mortgage/auto loan payments prior to the due date. Very rude over the telephone, will hang up on you and threaten to not provide service to customer. You have to go inside of a local branch to try to get things done. Such a headache.Review fromPaul H

1 starI was frauded after numerous conversations with different departments and appeal they denied my appeal and gave me no soundproof of their actions. All my years of being a member of various credit unions this is far the worst credit union; I would never recommend Navy Federal Credit Union to anyone. Their fraud department incompetent as far their investigations of fraud cases.Review fromRobin S

1 starThe people lack training to address my dispute. I file a dispute for ******** for $480 back in February 2024 for flight I had contract to change my flight. I paid extra for the service. ******** would not honor that contract and I had to pay for the flight again. ******** does everything back internet. Initial they denied my request do to lack of information at end February. I reopened the case provided all the information I had in my contract and they denied it again due to not showing evidence I didn't take the flight. I requested to talk to the dispute department directly and she wouldn't let me talk them. I asked her did the dispute department talk to ******** and wasn't sure and wouldn't get an answer for me. I VERY DISAPPOINTED ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? NAVY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. I Am Veteran an expected to be supported better then regular credi card companies. I will pay my bill off and make sure I don't damage my credi score an CANCEL NAVY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION CREDIT CARDReview fromBryan G

1 starVery upset with the lack of training and understanding when it comes to the department that handles Zelle. I used ***** to transfer money to a contractor that was working on my mothers house . When the project was finished, I went to send him the remaining amount due with the schedule payment feature. The first two times it wouldnt process and the last time it locked my Zelle account and referred me to the digital payments department. When speaking to the representative, I was told that the account that I was sending money to was assessed as a high risk and that my payment was rejected. I also was told, that I would NOT be able to send any other money to the contractor due to this security issue. I asked the representative if I would be charged because I tried 3x times. She said no and said that I could send money to anyone but this person. She also recommended that I send the money another way when asked if there were other ways to send the funds. So, I paid the contractor by other means and Two days later, I received notification that the $2,500 was processed by ***** to the contractor. I called **** and they said they couldnt return it or cancel the payment. I was accused of also not pointing the previous representative in the right direction. I called back and spoke with a manager who then said she would cancel the payment because she suspected fraud. After this, a payment was declined for an unrelated transaction and I was locked out of my app. So I called again and got the ONLY knowledgeable representative who said that the payment WAS NOT canceled AND by reporting it by fraud would affect the contractors account in the negative way. This is VERY unacceptable, could of been easily avoided and it puts people in difficult situations. I always have had decent experiences with **** but situations like these cannot be overlooked. Highly recommend increased training and improved customer support.Review fromBrian D

1 starNavy *** is the worst company for any service member to use when purchasing a home. The underwriting department has no clue on how finances work in this world. They force you to cut off your right arm just to be approved for the loan. The nitpicking of a members own financial well being and means of living is beyond comprehension. When working with this company, its death by a ***** cuts from the documentation they continually demand. The mortgage officers have no clue how to do their job or to even communicate with the underwriters. I will never use this company again. I hope more people read this review and take my advice to look elsewhere when purchasing a home. If I could I would give this company a negative star but am forced to only choose a 1 star rating.Review fromNaNa H

1 starI had a fraud problem. Against my red card, when I visited *******. I canceled my stay at the holiday in which foreigners run in that whole section where the fraud occurred. They still charged my red card even though everything was verbally. So I had no evidence of the cancelation. Navy Federal said they did an investigation. But if they did they would have seen that the person who took my info. Was lieing. I canceled my reservation about 3 hrs. Upon getting another hotel. And I will never bank at Navy Federal again. Because the investigation was not done!Review fromAdresha B

1 starI applied for a business account but didnt complete cause I was told I had to have a checking account first. I kept receiving emails and letters in the mail stating they still needed identification from me. I asked an agent was it for the new accounts cause Ive sent them or is it for the first account I attempted to open. She advised me that it was from the first application and to ignore, everything is fine. Ive been having my accounts open for a while now and all of sudden they locked my account for security reasons. I wasnt notified until I called. The agent told me what to send in and I did so by fax. I waited a few days and then was told they didnt receive them and to send through ********. So I did, they verified that they got the documents. So Im waiting again and decide to call, someone tells me that the document I sent in wasnt good enough so I had to send in another form of address so now they have 2 forms of proof of residency along with the documents I sent when I first opened the accounts. I was told I had to wait 3 business days, then another *** said 5 days. Another told me I can go to the bank with 2 photo IDs and I can withdraw money until it get situated, which he misinformed me on that, I called back to verify if that was accurate and another *** told me no, I can bring an ID/DL and a debit card to withdraw funds so I was like okay, finally a break, I have kids to feed. I go up there and I was told I couldnt withdraw funds while the security is going. So I called again! Spoke to a sup he escalated it due to hardship. I called to check and the *** said she didnt know what I was talking about and I have to wait 3-5. Its been days. I was like no I spoke to a supervisor yesterday and he told me to call back to get an update and she said she didnt see any of it. Called back again and the agent seen everything I was saying, theyre very unorganized and all over the place, I got told several different things only to be let down ***eatedly.Review fromBenjamin C

1 starI joined Navy Federal when I first enlisted 18 years ago. Over the last 2-3 years Navy Federals customer service has been garbage. Hot steaming garbage. I can't wait to be in a position to refinance my mortgage out of Navy Federal. They're just flat bad to their members--if I had the ability I would fire the entirety of their mortgage servicing department and start fresh with new people. During the mortgage process my Loan Officer took a whole bunch of vacations, was frequently impossible to get in touch with, and equated jovial unending conversation about his time in the Army to be sound customer service. I almost didn't close on my house because Navy Federal, on closing day, decided that they weren't going to accept a document as a post close funding requirement...despite previously agreeing. It took threats to contact my congressional representatives to get Navy Federal to agree to the post closing requirement. It took a complaint to **** to get Navy Federal to process my SCRA benefits. I had been getting the run around for months on when everything would be complete and every representative stated that Navy Federal had so many **** requests that they were still processing accounts from Jan 2024. I put my complaint in on July 26, 2024. By August 1 Navy Federal processed my SCRA request. I wish zero stars was an option, Navy Federal Credit Union deserves zero stars. Go anywhere else for your banking options. I will be.
