On 1/9/2023 I went to the ********** to play the ct lottery. I filled out the lottery form provided it to the clerk he gave me back the wrong numbers. I told him I would purchase them and he can re run the slip for the correct number. Again ,he gives me back the wrong numbers jut this time he charged me for the wrong numbers. I show him the slip and ask why are they coming out wrong. He then says " I don't know why people play so much numbers it's a waste of money " I then stated " I didn't ask you that I ask why are they coming out wrong if I provided the slip. If you don't know how to work the machine say so. He then says" well you can just take it up with my manager in the morning." And I asked " why I just want the numbers that was provided on the slip. I am on automatic delivery for oil. I pay the company $200.00 a month. They currently have over $1,000 of my money. I am out of fuel oil. This happened 3 times in 2021 and 2 times in 2022. They are not answering their office phones. Every time I run out of oil my mechanic charges me $300 to service by furnace. I don't know what to do.Initial Complaint

My mother is 80 years old and deals with Quarles Petroleum out of Fredrickcbiurg ********, ihavr called them 5 times since last Monday for a delivery because she was down to 20 gallons, and ran out and they still have not come nor will they answer the phone, and I saw a Quarles truck go right by her house on Monday December 26, you cant reach anyone and her pipes froze last night, they have known about this delivery for over a week, their phone number is ************. I ordered and paid for heating oil on 12/14/2022 and was promised a delivery within 5 business days.It was not delivered.I called again on 12/21/2022 and was promised a delivery on 12/22/2022.It was not delivered.I called today on 12/23/2022, and was told I'm no longer scheduled for delivery, and that I "sound old".- I was also advised that they will get to menus they can, and until then I can fill my tank with diesel fuel from the gas station.- I cancelled my order and requested a refund, which, given the discriminatory treatment and language I've received thus far, I am not confident I will receive.Customer Answer

Based on my experience with QUARLES, and the way in which I was so derogatorily treated and spoken to on several occasions throughout this ordeal, including promises of delivery date which never occurred, and then being told I was not scheduled, and they don't know when I will be, along with the spins and personal accusations regarding the same, I felt I paid for a Service that this company had no intention or interest in providing.
It was a very frustrating, time consuming, and emotional ordeal, and I was forced to cancel for my own health and and the protection of my property, and go with another company.
I have now paid twice, because QUARLES failed to deliver, and put me through ****.
i Need heat! The temperatures outside have been in single digits.
At this time all I have asked for is a refund.
I have lost my faith in this company and need to make sure I get it, as they have failed me on their first promise to deliver what I paid in advance for.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that my refund has been received.I would like to add, however, that I had several conversations with many staff members over several days at QUARLES, and each time was spoken to extremely rudely, and given many excuses why my heating oil was not delivered in the timeframe promised, and even promised delivery twice after it was originally promised.
Therefore, it was not just one representative who treated me abusively, but several, and they should all be trained in customer service.

So since Monday I have tried getting a delivery for propane that I paid for in OCTOBER , I ran out of propane on Tuesday evening, they have been out to my driveway twice this week with no delivery, they called me Thursday afternoon to say they would be delivering in the afternoon and that I needed to be home in 30 minutes, so I rushed home to get a call that they wouldnt be coming after all until today NOW its Friday December 23, 2022 3:40 pm no delivery as of yet, sub zero temperatures and wind chill, no heat or cook stove, on a holiday weekend with children in the home mind you one of them just getting through fatal double pneumonia and in recovery and no place to stay at. Given I have electric heaters they are not sufficient to withstand these temperatures. I deserve my money back plus compensation for this MAJOR negligence on their part and Im looking into court action for this matter of neglect on ******* part.Business Response

The order was delivered on 12/24, within the 5 business day window. As a reminder, we recommend calling when your tank is between 20-30% to allow us time to deliver within that window.

Received an email today saying I had a PAST DUE?!?!? balance of $125 for a tank rent. FIRST, they never notified me of this charge let alone it being past due. SECOND, they said I had to get a min of 100 gallons per year to avoid the fee and I got OVER 200 gallons in Dec. I called and waited on hold forever only for them to HANG UP ON ME!!!!!!!! So I call back AGAIN wait on hold AGAIN and they answer and hang up on me LOL this is insane. I have never experienced such poor customer service.Business Response

We apologize for the miscommunication. The Tank Rental for your account is applied if you do not receive at least 400 gallons annually. This is stated as such on the Sales Agreement you signed when opening your account. 100 gallons is our minimum delivery, which could be where that figure came from. There was a statement generated/ mailed in early September to advise you of the charge. We have waived the fee this year as a one-time courtesy.

On 9/27/22 I went to a ********** location in ************, ** to purchase a log of dip and a ******** and I was charged $1244.44 I immediately disputed the transaction with the clerk and was not only refused to have the transaction voided and re ran as the correct price but I was refused the items I tried to purchase. I've been on the phone since the transaction trying to get a resolution and get my money back but no one at this company seems to act like it's a big deal. I want a full refund of my money and any over draft charges that come from this transaction. I'm in the process of dispute with the bank for the charges.Business Response

I had a propane account with this company and first they delivered the propane to the wrong address and still tried to charge me for it. I paid my bill in full and they came while I was on vacation and took the propane tank out of the yard and are now trying to charge me $95 as a "tank removal fee"!!?? I will refuse to pay this fee and will never do any kind of business with Quarles in the future.Business Response

On 9/8/22 I purchased fried chicken from FasMart 33 **************************************************************************. I requested to purchase extra pieces and was laughed at and mocked. They had cold dried out chicken in the case and mocked me asking for the fresh chicken that just came out of the fryer. Two older women were the people laughing and mocking me. Other customers heard the whole thing and were disgusted as well. The chicken I ended up with was cold and dry. And there were many flies behind the partition. Very rude and unprofessional behavior. The cashier was quite nice and extremely apologetic. She witnessed what went on as well. I would like an apology and a full refund.
