I used a Coinstar machine at an Acme for a gift card at *********** The code is invalid when I tried it. I called Coinstar to retrieve the code on 1/5/24 and have been waiting since for an email from Coinstar. I called back on 1/13/24 and the representative asked me to wait on the phone for a code. After 35 minutes, she came back on to tell me she was unable to get a code and again asked me to wait for an email.Business Response

This is the most frustrating thing ever that i've had to deal with in my entire life and i'm so upset right now. I made a deposit of $560 into the coinstar kiosk location for my btc purchase on coinme. Only to got an error message on the printed voucher that my transaction couldn't be complete because they encounter an error. I've been contacting coinme several times with no reply from them. Now my money is absolutely stuck with coinstar and i don't get any of my purchased btc from coinme. This is a lot of money for me and i can't just afford to throw it away like that. I put my coins into their machine and my ticket did not print. They will not give me a credit in any way and the technician has not fixed the machine so I can get my ticket. Its been 3 days since this occurred and customer service is no help.Business Response

I used a Coinstar machine to cash in my jar of quarters on 10/23/23. The sign on the machine stated that they will be charging ****% for my transaction, and my jar had $348.87. Upon receiving cash back, it was the amount of $171.24, which clearly is way greater than ****% fee. I immediately reported this incident and was told that I had to wait for an investigation audit and they will get back to me. I waiting about 3 weeks and no call, so I decided to reach out to them, and they told me that the audit hasn't been completed and they will reach out. Again, the same story, haven't heard back, so I finally reached out today, and they said my claim was denied, and obviously this ridiculous and THEFT. I have pictures of my coin jar amount, the receipt that I only received the $171.24 and they are fraudulent and "stole" more that the percentage listed that they charge. I'd like my money back and they are not being cooperative. Help please with spreading the word that they are a fraud, liars, etc., and with getting me the amount that is due. -We processed a reported miscount review for the transaction in question
-We reviewed your specific transaction and found no kiosk issue/concern
-We had a field technician out to the kiosk just after your transaction and found it was working as intended with no counting concerns.
-We audited the bins inside of the kiosk which means we had a secondary count completed and found the kiosk was processing the coins correctly.
Though our teams did not find any concern with the kiosk, we see our customer service team provided you a goodwill payment for $150.00. This check should be received within 10 business days.

On Saturday December 2nd 2023 I went to cash in coins at the ******* on the west end of ********** *********. I used the coin star machine inside. I had counted the coins twice before cashing I had rounded up a total of $69.00 in change. I put it into the coin star machine and it counted $50.00 even giving me $43.80 after the fee. The machine ripped me off $19.00. Thats a lot to cheat someone. I will never use another coin star machine as long as I live!Business Response

You are stealing money by charging way more that you say you are. I have used your machines numerous times and feeling that you have been overcharging I decided to test your machine by depositing exact and known amounts of coins and found that you are gouging no less than an additional 10% over and above what you say. I was a victim of fraud/scam that used coinstar machine to transmit funds. Once I realized, I immediately contacted coin-star in an attempt to freeze the funds but was told I had to contact coinme. Coinme does not have phone number services and I was forced to send an email, the response is still pending. I also attempted the live chat and it did not work because there were only limited options to move forward in the conversation. Used the Coinstar in **************. The total when thebmachine broke was $96 still counting.Safeway said theyd have to wait until the mexhanic came and cant give the money. They said sorry well take your number and never called back. When I followed up they said we lied about the amount. Called coinstar and they said to call the ******** Basically got the runaround. I used Coinstar machine at ********* Wal Mart and received a Dominos gift card for $16.65. When I placed order online website said balance was zero. I called Coinstar who referred me to Dominos. You can't speak to a human but the bot said gift card number was invalid so I was unable to proceed further. This complaint isn't against local restaurant but form requires an address. To my knowledge the date of the transaction was on October 1st. I placed my money in the coinstar without following the prompts on the monitor and my money went into the machine and I was unable to get it out and it was not counted. I called coinstar they told me it would take time to pick up the machine and see how off the machine was it has been 3 weeks they are still telling me that they are processing it I'm not sure why it would take 3 weeks as they have picked the money up out of the machine they should have known that it was over. The people at the number I call keep hanging up on me and nobody will tell me when I'm going to get my money. They are very unprofessional and very rude! And I still don't know what is going on with my money!Business Response
