My new computer is locked up in S mode. I have sent support tickets several times and always get cut-off the call even though I asked to please call me back. No one has contacted me yet. Who does Microsoft think they are? I can’t download anything because it’s a home edition. Who are they to decide what I can download? It can only be from the Microsoft store. Poor customer service!

I made an effort to reach out to Microsoft through their customer service support chat, but unfortunately, they declined to issue refunds for charges beyond 30 days. It is advisable for me to monitor my account more closely to detect any unauthorized charges promptly and to also take the time to review their return policy for additional insights in the future. They only approved the refund for the most recent unauthorized charge on my PayPal account. Furthermore, they were unable to connect me with anyone else who could address the issue of fraudulent charges initiated by Microsoft themselves. From May 2023 to October 2023, Microsoft has been making unauthorized charges to my PayPal account for a service I never requested or authorized, specifically, Microsoft Personal 365. While Microsoft does have access to my PayPal account for a different subscription (XBOX Game Pass), they have somehow processed payments for a service/product I did not sign up for and now refuse to refund me for their error.

I have a fully functioning laptop that's about 8 years old. Obvi old, but works perfectly well. Was trying to update to Windows 10, which I waited hours for my computer to complete, then once it's done it says it needs a Product code and wants you to pay $100 for it? Online it says you can update/upgrade for free of you have Windows 7 or 8, I have Windows 8, but can't find the Product Key.No way to find Windows/Microsoft support phn#, called HP and they can't help either and kept calling my device old. Ya I get it's old, but if your devices can't function more than a couple years, why would I invest again? Tried calling Microsoft w/# on this site and could not get to human, after first call hung up on me and I called back it would not let me get past intro menu, just kept hanging up Heard about how gov is going to break up Microsoft again, since it's a monopoly (like they did in the ****s) and now completely agree. We should be given at least one software update or have options for competitors. Not just two overpriced companies. When you call if you're not calling about buying ink or a new device it hangs up on you. You shouldn't have to PAY for a support package. That comes with the product. ****** and dining needs a new term. Cell phones can do everything under the sun, but you have to make monthly payments to use Word Processor? Jeez. Incredible.

A vile, sexist, racist company. They promote their "enforcement" team constantly, saying they're going to clean up the toxicity in video game chats, but it's no coincidence that all of these actions have only skyrocketed since they were implemented. Not once, not twice, but over SEVEN TIMES, I've reported a racist comment, a pro-genocide sentiment, or direct, personal threats, and I'll IMMEDIATELY get told its not actionable, and receive a punishment instead. How DARE I get harassed, right? What was I thinking? Oh, but the cherry on top is their new game-audio recording function. Ever since they rolled that out, LGBT and PoC have been getting random bans and strikes left and right. My account has 5 strikes suddenly, 4 of which aren't actionable, meaning they're game audio related. What did I say during my game in rainbow 6? I made a joke saying that because I'm nonbinary, choosing operators is easy; I just choose the one with the frilliest clothes. It's a harmless joke, and there's NO reason that should give me 4 strikes. UNLESS, of course, the Xbox enforcement wing go out of their way to issue bans onto LGBT or PoC people who mention that they are in game chats. A genuinely vile and disgusting company.

My personal computer was hacked. Contacted Microsoft to resolve issue. I have a name and phone number of Microsoft's representative. More than two hours on phone with representative and he proceeded to tell me I needed to purchase an Apple Everything Card for firewall protection for $200. I was then directed to go to Publix to purchase another gift card for the same price. I got disconnected from the 800 number that I had called, He called me back from a different phone number and state. I did not. Contacted my bank to ensure my account was not also hacked. Apple confirmed the card balance had been used in full amount of $200.00. Microsoft Rep contacted me again later in the afternoon on 10/26/23 asking if I purchased another card and I told him no and hung up the phone. I was also given a reference number and was told I would be refunded the $200.00 for purchase of gift card. I fear of needing to pay someone to be able to use my personal computer again.DO NOT TRUST MICROSOFT FOR HELP!

Microsoft will delete your account without any explanation. Use a different email provider.

MSN.com news headlines are always right wing propaganda. Even if you remove them. All the comment sections are racist and homophonic. Theres no fact checking or moderation whatsoever. It feel like someone is doing this to influence on voting choices. When you create a new account thats also the first thing you see. No reputable websites.

We ordered Microsoft Surface Laptop on 8/21. We paid about $1492 for a surface laptop 5 with configuration of 16G Ram and i7 ***** core processor. But we received wrong laptop with configuration of 8G Ram and i5 ***** core processor. We called the customer service and one representative remotely logged into the laptop and confirmed that Microsoft has shipped the wrong product. They emailed us the return label and requested us to send back the laptop. We sent back the laptop and it was delivered on 8/31 per the tracking. But as of today 10/8, we still didn't get the refund back. We have been calling the customer service almost every week since September. The case was escalated. Every time we called the customer service, we have to tell the whole story. Finally at one call, the representative agreed that Microsoft has sent out the wrong laptop. they will refund the money to us. But to our surprise, instead of receiving the refund, they sent back the original wrong laptop and they closed the escalation ticket. We called the customer service again, and we had to explain to the representative about the whole story again. They said that they will email the return label again but we never receive it. We called the customer service today (10/8), and they said the laptop we sent back on 8/31 is wrong product. But that is exactly the starting point of the whole story. Microsoft shipped us the wrong laptop at the very beginning. as of now 10/08 the case is still pending.

I am an eighty six year old invalid with cancer, dealing with chemo and radiation daily. That I manage to deal with. Spending many days and many hours trying to get help to resolve being locked out of my "Microsoft Account" has left me frustrated, shaking and crying at the end of some long "catch 22" type days. Many years ago I used a then working email address to set up my MS ******** (Windows operating system). The *** providing that email account has since closed and no longer functioning. I have spent many days and hours trying to change that address to my new working address to recover access to my accounts. Always ending up with a "catch 22": MS wanting to verify something with a code they have sent to that old, not working address. Or an option to "text" a code to my old telephone number, a voice only, land line phone. Then many more hours of following MS on line "help" links and pages have found no option describing this problem and no way to explain the problem to a real live possibly understanding human for customer support. Their web site offers several areas where you can type in a description of your problem, but limit your description to so few characters if is impossible to enter a useable description before it just stops working. Or several multi choice options, none of which apply. I do not know if BBB can help with my problem but this complaint might help warn others who may need customer support from ********************. My advice, don't waste your valuable time trying if your problem is not listed on their web site.
