1 starCan't buy anything from microsoft.com because it requires a outlook email. B.s. I use ******* I tried signing up for one and permanently locked my outlook email. I'm not giving it a phone number to verify my email. Ms has removed the option to use other email alternatives as I've bought stuff before from their website with my gmail email. This b.s. is why I have to go to the physical store to buy c***Review fromCole B

1 starI recently got a new phone and didn't realize I had to change the verification number, now I'm locked out of my account, I spent hundreds of dollars on games, and xbox live, I spend hundreds of hours playing games, to just have it all stolen from me by Microsoft, they could help and let me back into my account, but they won't, this service is trash, the 2 step verification is seriously flawed, the hundreds of complaints online about this same situation, I just want my account back, but they refuse to help me, my name is ***********************, and I don't think it's fair that they can just steal your account, hundreds of dollars just gone in an instantReview fromRosemary K

1 starDon't use Microsoft ad service. I answered their questions and their software created an ad. I launched the ad that they created and later when I could not get into my account, I contacted them and was told the ad had been banned and they couldn't tell me why because it is not done by a person but technology so no one knows why it was banned. I was told the ban was final and permanent. I have found that thousands of ads are banned as mine was. I was also told that even if you work with a Microsoft specialist to create an ad, the ad could still be banned. I don't understand this. I have never dealt with anything like this with other places that I have done advertising with. The bottom line is don't use Microsoft ad service!Review fromJustin T

1 starHi My name is *****************************. Microsoft lied to me about receiving refunds for Atomic Heart Video Game and The Outer Worlds DLC. I haven't received a refund for either and I didn't even get the game back after my refund failed on there end. Don't trust Microsoft. They will s**** you over in a heartbeat.Review fromChris H.

1 starMy husband and I ordered a new laptop. Microsoft was supposed to come with the laptop. When my husband tried to set up the Microsoft account, we were routed to a permission screen for a child to access the program. Microsoft would not let us past this screen. When I contacted them for help with this problem, the representative told me our Microsoft account (which we had not been able to finish setting up) had a lock on it and we would need to buy a repair program for $159 to remove the lock on the account. We asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor told us they could not unlock our account until we purchased a repair and protection program for $80. When we asked to speak with with his supervisor, we were told the supervisor was busy and we could not speak with him.My husband and I are frustrated and angry. We feel we are being held hostage by Microsoft. We must spend more money to have a Microsoft account unlocked that we were never able to completely set up. This will be my last online purchase of a laptop.Review fromMiranda C

1 starMicrosoft is negligent! My son got hacked and taken advantage of on XBOX and after me filing the complaint they said they could not verify it was my account because I could not remember what date years ago that I opened my account. Yet the hackers got away with spending over $500 on my account, hacked my email everything. After calling them and providing them with all info I still got told they could not verify me. I was supposed to have heard back and instead got an email case closed. My sons whole profile gone, $1000s of dollars worth of games, skins, etc gone to the hackers. Great job Microsoft! ***************Review fromThomas P

1 starI ordered a **************** ******* through Microsoft for $9.99/month. Somehow during the process of ordering this ******* they tacked on an additional ******* labelled "Digital Goods" in the amount of $106.99/month. I called Microsoft ******* and explained the problem. The ******* agent (*******) explained that their system was down and she could not process the credit at that time. She took my phone number and stated she would call be back within the hour. I never got a call back. When I called the same number the next day they would not put me through to a live ******* agent. I had to contact my credit card company and register the charge as fraudulent which required them to cancel my card and sent out a replacement. Bottom line Microsoft does not have a legitimate customer support *******.Review fromTed H

1 starMicrosoft changes settings without permission. For example, windows provide the option to allow them to manage your default preferences for your printer. They present this option, although if you do not give them permission, they need to honor this. I have not selected this option. I have to reset my default printer to my preference often. They keep changing my preferences, and it causes errors when I run some of my software. This is not okay and is frustrating. They're lucky I gave them a single star.Review fromJ. M

1 starI purchased an xbox elite series 2 controller that had one year of warranty from the time of activation. I contacted Microsoft support and they prompted me to go through the chat and so I did. First I got someone who had very broken English and did not understand even after I broke it down in baby steps. I sent off my elite series 2 controller (black) with all original attachments to be fixed from A and B buttons sticking. They sent the controller back to me completely removed of all attachments and the buttons STILL sticking after two weeks of waiting I was SO ANGRY!! I immediately got ahold of someone and sent it back because they literally probably just shuffled it around to another customer. They did nothing to fix my $170 controller. When they got it back they didn't understand what the issue was after explaining repeatedly via chat I got someone again who spoke broken English in the customer care center. So once they finally figured out the attachments were taken off my controller from the service center and the buttons sticking were not addressed they processed a second return and then go figure *** loses the package so I put in about 4 weeks of contacting *** and Microsoft and trying to figure out what happened to my controller in transit and they eventually processed a "replacement" order to which I received yesterday and I honestly thought after all the weeks of trying and patiently waiting constantly updating my current address blah blah blah they would have the decency to send me a NEW controller but NOPE they sent me the same original controller after they found it and didn't even fix my complaint about the buttons sticking and the attachments missing. They are literally the worst SERVICE REPAIR CENTER EVER! I will never use Microsoft again. They don't speak proper English, they cut corners, they shuffle people's controllers around, they don't address the issues, and they are extremely cheap. The only thing good they have is the Xbox Series X.
