On 7/25 I parked at a ******* in an oversized work vehicle. The lot is not a pay to park lot, but apparently monitored by Diamond Parking. I received a parking ticket for improper parking. Size of the vehicle was bigger than the spot. There are no signs posted in regards to oversized vehicles or the fact that it was monitored by Diamond Parking. After a phone call with customer **********************, the best they can do is reduce the amount from ***** to *****. Ridiculous! Since I went into ******* to get a snack and use the bathroom. Ive attempted several times to have the ticket dropped but according to customer **********************, the lot manager makes the final decisions. Absolutely absurd! What lot manager??

I was in ********* (Pacific Beach) on July 15th for a business trip. I need to get some lunch before my flight home, so I parked in lot SD060 and scanned the ** code to make my payment. This took me to the ParkMobile webpage service which designated this Pacific Beach lot as Zone # *****. I was unable to purchase a full hour on the website as there was no option to select a full hour, despite the signage saying there was an hourly rate of $7. Instead, the website was charging me by the minute. For example, when I put in 24 minutes of parking, it attempted to charge me $168.70. This is an absurd mistake. Due to the error in the system, I chose to purchase one minute of parking at 11:10am, which charged me $7 plus a $0.70 processing fee; this meant my minute of parking ended at 11:11am. I assumed this to be permissible as I had paid the amount that corresponded to the posted hourly rate. However, I returned with my food 20 minutes later to a parking ticket, saying I had no advance payment. I found this to be ridiculous, as I paid the hourly rate, yet was being punished for a mistake on their system. I immediately filed a dispute, which was denied by the lot manager despite the evidence I provided. I received poor customer ********************** from *************************, who appeared to disregard the evidence I provided and said the lot manager's decision was final.I would like this ticket to be rescinded as I committed no wrongdoing. The company accepted my payment of $7.70, which should have covered me for an hour. I can understand the ticket being issued in the first place due to the mistake in the system; however, it is incredibly shady and borderline fraudulent to uphold the ticket after I provided proof of payment and the error in ParkMobile's system. I have attached the documentation I provided when I filed my original dispute.

This sham of a company claims i wasn't a paying customer of shops around the ********************** lot, despite me providing all the proof they asked for showing I was eating at a restaurant attached to the parking lot. They say because my statement is about an hour after the ticket was issued, it's too late?! I was there eating dinner with friends, a 1.5 hour dinner is perfectly normal. I parked there at 5:55 pm and went to the restaurant, and you immediately issued the ticket at 6:03 pm, when i left the restaurant i went to my car and the ticket is already there. I waited a few minutes right outside the restaurant to wait for a table, but I was definitely in the parking lot still. There is literally nothing else i could have done. They requested a credit card statement with a timestamp, which i provided to them after HOURS of dealing with the bank to get that information... and they promptly IGNORED it and says the ticket is still valid, despite the statement showing the restaurant and time I was there. What a catastrophic waste of time.Talking to them on the phone was completely useless and unprofessional all around too.The ticket reference number is #********, this really feels like a scam and they're just relying on innocent people not putting in the effort to fight back.

      Hello,

Our goal with any customer, is to provide the reason the notice was issued, find a resolution and to prevent it from happening again in the future.  This location is private property and has the parking rules posted.  It is to be monitored at the request of the property manager, and Diamond Parking is provided a list of specific rules and is contracted to enforce by ticketing and/or towing based on the challenges the location faces due to unauthorized use.  I have reviewed your ticket and see it was issued for unauthorized parking leaving the lot without your vehicle.  As per the signage, this is not permitted for any reason or length of time.  If you are witness by the patroller a ticket and/or towing will be done immediately.  I have reviewed your appeal and documentation.  As a one-time courtesy I have cancelled the notice.  Thank you!

On July 13, 2022, I was issued a ticket for my vehicle even though I parked in an authorized parking zone. I parked in the plaza parking lot to go get bubble tea at Pearl ***** and meet up with a friend from out of the country. My friend was lost and across the street from where I was, so after parking, I crossed the street in order to go meet up with my friend. We then went to Pearl *****, but upon returning to my vehicle, I found out that I was issued a ticket, even though I had gone to a store in the plaza. I should not have received a ticket since I was a customer of a store in the plaza.

Hello on 7/12/2022 I was issued a ticket reference number ********** I immediately reached out via phone number on the ticket, because I had actually paid for parking my parking pass number was ********* I called the company within a hour of the ticket being issued and explained the situation and told me this could be resolved.we were on our honeymoon and my wife had accidentally put the last digit wrong on the license plate. The company gave me and absurd list of requirements to send in to get this resolved. Including a redacted bank statement of the posted charge which is impossible to do since they only give you 15 days to dispute the ticket and my bank statement for the month would not become available until after the ************************************************************************************************ there is no possible way. Keep in mind I had a screen shot of my payment and proof from the company including my parking pass number that I had paid for parking. I screenshotted my payment and blacked out all extra charges to show the parking charge, and I have been ghosted since the 12th where I sent my dispute email. I received an email saying their is no ETA to fix this issue and if I email again that my claim would automatically be denied. They will only waive the late fee if the claim is decided in your favor even if you are in the middle of dispute. Not to mention I was in a rental car so that would incur fees as well if I wait for an official resolution.I am asking for help to please help me fix this issue since I did in fact pay for parking, and have gone through the proper channels to the best of my ability.

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention.

On Saturday 5/7/2022, I parked in front of **** branch (which was closed at the time) to drop a few books at the public library on the of the other side of the street (I do have a copy of library receipt timestamped at 5/7/2022 4:10PM). the parking lot (code ****) is a huge one shared among ******* other businesses. The lot was almost empty at the time. In this area, the few parking spots in front of businesses normally belong to the business and are free when business is closed. There was no sign to tell the spots in front of the bank are metered; signs in the middle of a huge parking lot are not enough. In this case specific signs are needed to clarify the few parking spots in front of bank are metered too. When I came back the diamond person was busy making the ticket (Reference # ********) timestamped 5/7/2022 4:10PM! I used the spot <5min; I think this ticket is result of confusion due to lack of signs.

Thank you for your email.  Our goal with any customer, is to provide the reason the notice was issued, find a mutual resolution and to prevent it from happening again in the future.
Please note that this location is private property and all parking rules have been created by the property owner(s).  Diamond Parking has been hired to enforce these parking rules as posted on the property due to the unauthorized use on the facility.  The lot in which you were ticketed is a pay parking lot unless otherwise signed, as in the area which you were parked is only authorized free parking while conducting business on the property.  You are not permitted to park in this section and leave the property without your vehicle for any amount of time.  Any other time, when the businesses are closed this is unauthorized parking as it is a private parking facility.  The pay parking area is for people to conduct errands off property.  Ongoing please use that section of the location. We will reduce the ticket down to $46.50 as a one time courtesy.  If you would like to pay the reduced amount please contact our call center at ************ and quote your reference number.  Thank you!

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I paid the amount, although it is still unjust for a 5 min usage. I think the explanations should go on a sign in appropriate location, right in front of bank. You cannot make assumptions about ultimate ownership of banks. To best of my knowledge, collecting parking fees is not an obvious part of bank business. You should not be worried to receive a parking ticket from another business when you park in front of a bank. Thanks BBB.

      Sincerely,

On 6/28/2022 I had a parking ticket at the ****************** in ****, ******. Diamond Parking Services out of *******, ** gave a ticket reference ********** stating the parking is for ***************** customers only. The 1st problem is that we visited various shops in the plaza including an ********* that ****** maps show located in *****************. The 2nd problem is the parking attendant told us it was fine to park there. We later found the *** store uses a different parking lot, but we were told it was fine and we have no proof other than our word. Diamond Parking Services is a predatory company that profits off the simple mistakes of honest people. Even though we visited shops in the plaza and were told by the parking attendant it was ok to park there, we were still required to pay the violation. We know it is a civil matter not enforceable by law but it could still go to collections and become a headache so we were forced to pay the $56.50 violation.

      Complaint: 17553270

I am rejecting this response because:

I now understand the *** store is not located in the plaza, but I don't have a receipt for browsing at ************** or other shops. So without a receipt, it is simply my word against Diamond Parking. But now the issue has gotten deeper with the response tactics from Diamond Parking.

      1) I received no response from Diamond Parking in regards to my questioning the validity of the parking ticket. It wasn't until the BBB was involved that motivated a response.

      2) There were lies in the response. First, I am told there was no parking attendant on duty that day. But if this were true, I would not have spoken to the gentleman attending the parking lot. I also would not have received a violation, because it took a person to physically create the ticket and place it on my windshield.

      3) A final lie in the response is that a refund was not possible. This is a bold face lie. Of course a refund is possible.

Again, these are predatory practices. It comes down to the customers word against Diamond Parking. The corporate folks at Diamond Parking were not in ******. We were in ******, and we know exactly what happened first hand. We were lied to by the parking attendant. We were issued a ticket, and later lied to by the corporate office that an attendant was not on duty. We were lied to again that a refund is not possible. The problem is not $56.50. The problem is that Diamond Parking is taking advantage of unsuspecting victims and writing erroneous tickets knowing the majority will pay to avoid the hassle and any possible result of collections.

      Sincerely,
