      Regarding Sound Physicians and/or Hospitalist Medicine Physicians of ********, LLC Invoice Number ******* Account Number **************** The bill only reflects what ******** paid and ignores that BlueCross/BlueShield has already paid the rest.The remaining balances of $22.86 and $22.86 associated with DOS March 26 and March 27 for provider ************************* were paid by **** on May 18 (see Claim Number 2131B08865P).The remaining balance of $30.25 associated with DOS March 25 for provider *********************************** was paid by **** on May 18 (see Claim Number 2131B08898P).The remaining balance of $15.91 associated with DOS March 28 for provider ******************* was paid by **** on May 18 (see Claim Number 2131B08918P).The remaining balances of $22.86 and $23.66 associated with DOS March 29 and March 30 for provider ************************* were paid by **** on May 18 (see Claim Number 2131B08875P).Although the payments from **** are dated May 18 and the ******** payments are dated May 7, a bill was generated in August that continues to ignore the **** payments from May 18.There are threats of collection efforts. I think they are trying to intimidate and/or trick the elderly.

      Statements were sent to the patient on 8/21/22, 8/25/22 and 8/28/22 for $138.40. Emails sent to the patient on 8/8/22 and 8/17/22. BCBS payment processed on 5/18/22 but payment BCBS payment wasnt received until 9/8/22.  The payment posted in patients account thus creating $0.00 balance due as of 9/8/22.

      My complaint is about what now seems to be fraudulent billing from South Sound Physicians. I have ******** health coverage and last January (2021) had a knee operation at ******************* Hospital in *********, **. They have an agreement with ******** to cover all patient services. ******** and my supplemental insurance, Mutual of Omaha covered almost all services. I had a few co-pays due which I immediately paid. About five months later I got a bill from South South Physicians for $512.49. The bill showed that I had ********, but showed no evidence that ******** had been billed. It also showed a secondary insurance (BCBS) that I do not have. This looked suspicious so I went to my ******** and supplemental insurance accounts and sure enough, neither carrier had ever been billed. So, not wanting to pay an amount that I didn't actually owe pending ins coverage, I sent a letter back to South Sound Physicians (tried calling to no avail) notifying them that I was waiting to see what ******** was going to pay and that they had the secondary wrong. I gave them the correct information. After some months they sent back a new bill. On that bill it said they had now billed both carriers and the amount was due. Problem was, they did not fix the secondary insurance, it still listed BCBS incorrectly and upon checking my ******** account I still find no evidence of a bill for $512.49. I should say, I did pay a South Sound Physicians bill in 2020 that was correctly billed to ******** and my correct supplement. No problem. So what's wrong with this one? I have no idea, but it looks fraudulent at this point after my sending numerous letters over the past year in response to more "re-billing" that they claim to be making to ******** and to the still wrong supplement. They have never fixed the wrong supplemental insurance and they have never billed ********. Now I get a bill that says: FINAL NOTICE and a threat to send the account to collection.

      I have been going back and forth with Sound Physicians Emergency Med of NV ******* PLLC for months. I used their services on 11/29/2021. I am insured with BlueCross BlueShield, who received and paid the claim on: 12/08/21. I have called BCBS and verified that this check was cashed by Sound Physicians. I have received numerous texts and notifications stating that I still owe $1,663.20 to this provider. Upon calling in, Sound Physicians opened up an "investigation" - which took several weeks. I then called in again and they stated that the Investigation was closed, with no notification given to me. The Billing Representative stated that their investigation had 'revealed' that I had been directly paid by BCBS for the claim. They even provided me an EHF number. I knew immediately this was an incorrect statement. I did not receive any payments from BCBS - and have never even provided my banking information to BCBS. The Billing Rep argued with me that that this is an incredibly common practice. BCBS has confirmed it is not. The Representative for Sound Physicians would not provide me documentation of this investigation, for my records.At this point, on 07/20/2022, I still have not resolved the remaining balance that Sound Physicians Emergency Med of NV ******* PLLC claims I owe. I am sending over a claims form from BCBS to prove they paid this provider. Upon reviewing similar complaints, my concern is that this is a pattern: Claims are paid directly by the insurance company and accepted by this facility. The provider then attempts to have their patients pay the same **** again.

      Elderly man in the hospital 04/21. 07/22 Is continuing to get billed by sound physicians for $180.67. He has ******** and Aetna supplement. Has received an EOB from Aetna indicating balance is paid. Four different phone calls and have spoken to multiple representatives, even had a 3 way conference call with Sound Physicians rep and Aetna and patient. AETNA provided confirmation numbers of electronic transactions. Now 6 months later another **** received. Is this fraudulent practice or possible elder abuse in the form of extortion? With repeated billing when paid, is it considered harassment? Please stop the fraud.
