I am receiving calls from a collection agency when Sound Physicians has NEVER ****ed or contacted either myself or my insurer.Reportedly these are professional charges related to an inpatient stay. The hospital was able to submit their ****s properly and somehow the physicians they contract with were not.I have made numerous calls to various phone numbers for Sound Physicians, but have yet to receive a response.They have to **** ******** first because it's not legal for them to charge me in excess of the ******** allowed amount.Business Response

I have somehow been billed numerous times from this business for the same medical visit I did not make. They do not have my insurance on file. I have reached out and they have fixed the problem both times and now still I am being bothered for money I do not owe them for a visit I didnt make.Business Response

Back in mid-April (4/13-4/16), I was in the hospital for a medical emergency. All other providers except Sound Physicians have gone through the usual billing process via insurance and then me paying whatever I owed out-of-pocket. I have had no issues of this case from *any other* HC provider! Sound Physicians, by the way, was one of them, *already billing* my insurance for services rendered back in late May, if memory serves (5/23, I believe). The insurance company paid-out a little over $1400 worth of services billed but had, supposedly, 'denied' the rest. However... since, with the combined medical bills from the various hospital-related providers (and the hospital), I have already PAID-OUT my out-of-pocket maximum for 2022! Ergo... in any case, they have NO CASE to bill me! This is clearly BALANCE BILLING!I contacted my insurer, and they told me that they contacted SP to have them *submit a claim* properly, to get this "issue" resolved. ...It's been about 2 weeks- maybe a bit more- since the recent "bill" for $1389 from SP. So far, there seems to be *no record* of them having submitted a claim related to this 'extra bill', *and*, on top of that, they sent me a FOLLOWUP EMAIL about the "bill", which should've been resolved via insurance! For what it's worth, I will also be reaching out to my insurance company to put *more* pressure on SP, assuming that helps.This complaint may be a bit "preemptive", but I am contacting them early on in this 'process' since I've heard of way too many other people on BBB and elsewhere have to take upwards of A YEAR to get these silly "scammy" billing issues resolved by SP! Hopefully, though, I can nip this in the bud early on.Business Response

********** Blue Shield of Ill paid my account ******* QSNDP 15 in Nov of 2021. Final payment was made 12-14-21 by me. 9-9-22 they send a duplicate claim to BCBS who denies it because it was paid in Nov or 2021, and now I have a bill for ****** because they are trying to double bill. I am working with BSBC to get this fixed. but it is moving slowly and effecting my credit.Business Response

We reviewed charge and found insurance did issue payment which was posted and then adjusted off in error causing patient and insurance to be rebilled. We have corrected the account. On June 22, 2022, Sound Physicians sent a letter offering a 75% discount off the outstanding balance of a medical bill. The outstanding balance was $1562, and the discount balance was $390.50. The discount balance of $390.50 was paid. On August 25, 2022, they sent a bill for $1562 again even though we had paid off the account per their offering. On the following dates I received services from Sound Physicians Emergency Medicine through ************************* in ********, ** : 11/30/2020; 12/02/2020; 12/31/2020; 2/01/2021. Swedish American is an in-network, preferred provider for my insurance. Sound Physicians was non-network and despite what ******** Public Act 94-0885 requires, I was not informed at any of these times of service the the ** physicians were not participating within the same insurance networks as the hospital. I was billed $1761 for each of these four visits. My insurance covered $1515, leaving $245 as "non-covered". I had already fully paid my deductible for 2020 and 2021 by the time these claims were paid. The EOB's that I have attached clearly show that the $245 is not part of my deductible, but is simply "non-covered" by my insurance. Under the ******** Public Act previously mentioned I should not have to pay the $245 because it is considered "balance billing".My insurance company faxed a letter to Sound Physicans EM on October 12, 2021 specifically requesting a reduction of the out-of-pocket expenses on my behalf. They have not found any specific response from Sound Physicians EM except requests for more time to respond. Each time I call Sound Physicians regarding the balance billing I get a different response. The last time I called was 8/9/2022. The customer service rep told me to send copies of my EOBs to show that the $245 was not labelled as a deductible and that my bills could then be corrected. However, after I e-mailed the copies I received the response that Sound Physicians processes claims based on what they receive from the insurance and THEIR paperwork shows it as a deductible. They said I need to work this out with insurance.I contacted my insurance company and they told me the $245 is NOT a deductible.I want an adjustment of $735 to the amount due and a refund of the $245 I paid when Sound Physicians threatened to send my account to collections.Business Response

In network charges for out of network. After receiving a bill from sound physicians for emergency room visit, I called to let them know my insurance paid them already and processed the claim as in network. **************** rep with ********************** said no we was not in network on the date of service so I told her I'd call my insurance and double check it. My insurance said that the contract they have with them on that date of service shows they was indeed in network. After weeks of going back and forth finally the **************** Rep with ********************** said I can offer you a cash pay price. I said no thank you my insurance had already paid sound physicians. Now they have turned me into collections. I'm working with the collection agency to get them the proof by sending my insurance EOB to them so hopefully I can get this resolved.Business Response

I received two bills in the mail wanting $2,292.00 for two visits to a hospital ER. I did not visit this hospital on those days. I called the business that sent the bills after the first one arrived and was told to discard that bill because everything was taken care of. As soon as the man said that, he hung up.
