I received a Steam gift card as an early birthday gift and redeemed it to my account. I attempted to buy a one-month ********** RuneScape membership using my Steam balance. My first attempt showed a successful message, but the membership never arrived. When I tried again, I got an error:"Oops, sorry! An error was encountered while processing your request: The Steam servers are experiencing a high volume of activity and are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later."I contacted Steam Support via ticket HT-PMJ2-7N69-86KY, but instead of resolving my issue, they locked my account, falsely claiming I violated the Steam Subscriber Agreement. I created my account myself and have never bought, sold, or transferred it.Steam also claimed my transaction was canceled and that my bank was holding the funds. This is incorrectI used my Steam balance from a gift card, not a bank or credit card. Steam is now holding my funds and refusing to process my purchase or issue a refund.I followed up via ticket HT-3FXC-R7XT-JMPR, clarifying their mistake. Instead of assisting me, they sent a canned response, stating the account lock is permanent and closed my ticket without ************* this point, it feels like Steam is trying to keep my gift card funds while refusing to provide the service I paid for. This is unfair and unacceptable.I request an immediate resolutioneither complete my purchase or refund my Steam balance to my PayPal.This issue is urgent, as the in-game event I wanted to participate in is happening now. I expect a prompt response.

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a formal complaint against Valve Corporation (V?) regarding the unjustified 180-day ban imposed on my Steam account (ID: ******************, primarily used for playing CS:GO 2. Valve claims that I was "teaming up with cheaters," which is entirely untrue and lacks any substantial evidence.I have been a loyal Steam user for years and have invested significant time and money into my account. I have never engaged in any form of cheating or knowingly teamed up with players using hacks. Valve's decision to ban my account for 180 days without providing concrete evidence or a fair opportunity to appeal is unacceptable and has caused me significant frustration and loss of access to my games.I request the following actions from Valve:Provide clear evidence supporting the claim that I teamed up with cheaters.Reinstate my account immediately if no valid evidence exists.Improve transparency in their ban and appeal process to ensure fair treatment of users.I trust the BBB to help resolve this issue and hold Valve accountable for their actions. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,

Date of the transaction: Late Dec 24, 2024 The amount of money paid to the business: $38.99 for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon on Steam. What the business committed to provide you: Steam committed to deliver a functional digital game. ************, the publisher, advertised the game as compatible with Windows 11, but its unplayable due to an EasyAntiCheat error (*****, StartService failed with 1275) on my clean Windows 11 system with official drivers.Steam denied my refund request twice, citing their policy, without addressing the games defectiveness. Bandai Namco support (ticket ID: ************************ responded over three months but provided ineffective steps (e.g., citing nonexistent files like EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe) and deferred to future updates with no timeline. Steam Discussions show dozens of players using risky workarounds (delaying updates, hacking EAC), indicating a systemic issue. If the issue involves advertising, when and where the ad was seen or heard: Bandai Namcos Windows 11 compatibility claim was on their official website and Steam store page, viewed in late 2024 before purchase.

Complaint against Valve Corporation Date: March 11, 2025 Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to formally file a complaint against Valve Corporation regarding their lack of assistance in resolving an API scam that resulted in the loss of my digital items worth $140.On the 11th of March, I attempted to send a trade offer to my friend Hyper (Steam profile: **************************************************). However, I unknowingly accessed a fraudulent website that compromised my API key. As a result, when I sent the trade, two identical trade offers appeared, both with the same profile picture and name as my friend. Unfortunately, I failed to notice the difference and unknowingly sent my items to a scammer who had set up a fake account to intercept the trade. The scammer's profile is: ************************************************************** immediately contacted Valve's support team, providing all the necessary evidence, including transaction details and proof of the fraudulent activity. However, despite my efforts, Valve has failed to offer any assistance or take action to recover my lost items.I kindly request Valve Corporation to thoroughly investigate this incident and help recover my lost skins. I believe it is the company's responsibility to ensure the security of its platform and protect users from such fraudulent activities.I trust the Better Business Bureau will assist me in resolving this matter and hold Valve accountable for their lack of support.Sincerely,****** ****** **********************

I bought the game Solasta, and was never actually able to load the game. I tried multiple times, but never succeeded. Somehow, despite never actually having played the game at all, the Steam App recorded by playtime as '3 hours' which is longer than I even had the game installed on my computer. This is a company that defrauds their customers with their policies, and refuses to give refunds where they are owed. This is the last game I buy on Steam, until they improve, and actually start responding to BBB complaints.

Complaint to Better Business Bureau (BBB)To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Valve Corporation regarding the unjust permanent ban of my CS:GO 2 (Counter-Strike 2) account on the ********************** platform. My Steam ID is *****************, and I have been a loyal customer of ******************** for many years. However, the recent permanent ban of my account has left me deeply frustrated and dissatisfied with the companys handling of the situation.I have always played CS:GO 2 fairly and have never engaged in any form of cheating, hacking, or other violations of the games terms of service. I am an honest player who values fair play and the integrity of the gaming community. However, my account was permanently banned without any clear explanation or evidence of wrongdoing. I suspect that the ban may have been triggered due to one of the following reasons:Unclean Machine at an Internet Caf: On occasion, I have accessed my Steam account from internet cafs. It is possible that the machines at these locations were infected with malicious software, which may have triggered Valves anti-cheat system, leading to the ban.Account Compromise: There is also a possibility that my account was compromised or used by someone else without my knowledge, resulting in activities that violated the games policies.Despite my attempts to resolve this issue through Steams official support channels, I have only received generic, automated responses that do not address my concerns or provide any meaningful explanation for the ban. I have submitted multiple appeals, but each time, I was met with the same unsatisfactory outcome. This lack of transparency and customer support is unacceptable, especially for a company of Valves stature.

To Whom It May Concern at the Better Business Bureau,I am filing a formal complaint against Valve Corporation (Steam) regarding their unfair and unethical handling of stolen digital items. Despite their established security measures, including Market Trade Holds, they have refused to assist in restoring my lost items, even though my account was hijacked and compromised without my consent.Issue Summary:My Steam account was compromised due to unauthorized ********* valuable in-game items were fraudulently traded away, despite the Steam Market Trade Hold system, which is meant to prevent such unauthorized transactions.I immediately contacted Steam Support to report the hijacking and request the return of my stolen items.Despite their ability to reverse transactions in cases of hijacking, they refused to return my items, citing a policy that unfairly penalizes victims of theft rather than addressing the security failure on their end.Why This Is ***************************************** enforces a Market Trade Hold system to protect users from unauthorized trades, yet in my case, it failed to do so.2.They have the ability to restore lost items (as seen in cases where they manually roll back fraudulent transactions) but refuse to assist legitimate victims.3.Their customer support is unhelpful and dismissive, refusing to escalate cases even when clear evidence of hijacking is ****************** goods hold real-world value, and Steams refusal to assist in recovering stolen property amounts to negligence.Requested Resolution:I am seeking a fair resolution where Steam restores my stolen in-game items, given that they have full control over their platform and its trading system. If they continue to refuse, I urge the BBB to investigate Valves failure to protect its users and hold them accountable for unfair business practices.Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter.Kindest Regards,***** ***** Email: *************************

Long story short I have not used there program STEAM in years. I reset my computer recently and purchased a CD key to activate on my account for my son to play along with all of my titles I have spent hundreds of dollars on over the years. I was shocked when it said my account was not elligible for the typical resets (email/text) I was put through a battery of tests by the sales support employees and provided as much info as I could. It is obvious I am the owner but they want a code that was emailed years and years ago and clearly I have no way of retrieving this. They then closed the chat. The ticket number for this which they should be able to pull the convo is HT-NY3J-7TDR-8H3P. They are not trying to help me access their systems and ultimately their hope I firmly believe is to force me to start a new account and repurchase.

Dear BBB,I am filing a complaint against Valve Corporation regarding a fraud incident on their Steam platform. My Steam ID is *****************. I was scammed by an impersonator posing as a Steam support representative, resulting in the loss of valuable CS:GO 2 items.Despite reporting the issue to Steam Support, they refused to assist, citing their policy terms. I believe this highlights a flaw in their system, as the scammer was able to impersonate a representative convincingly, and no warnings or protections were in place to prevent this.I request the BBBs assistance in urging Valve to:Recover my stolen items or provide compensation.Take action against the scammers account.Improve security measures to protect users.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,
