      Best Version Media claims to be publishing a magazine in our community that is mailed and distributed. I have not seen the magazines. They are not being mailed. They are not being distributed. I asked to see a list or proof of mail I was promised multiple copies and they were never delivered. This company tricks you into signing a multi year contract. Charges monthly for services that are not given. Sales reps misrepresent the magazine distribution. The ad I was sold is worthless and I was promised that I would have some editorial input on magazine content even contribute. All lies.

      The magazine that this client is referring to is indeed being printed and distributed just as was discussed when this client first signed up. We will be happy to provide documentation to this client to that effect.


      This client claims that they were tricked into signing a long-term contract. This is not true. This client received a substantial discount.This was a specific part of the sales presentation. Its impossible to miss.


      With regard to providing content for the magazine, no content was promised or part of the contract. What this client signed up for was to be a sponsor of our recipe page. In other words, there is a message that says this page is sponsored by (insert clients business name).


      We have upheld our obligations in providing excellent advertising for this client and we would expect the client to honor its obligations as well.

      I signed up with this company for marketing purposes they hook me into a three-year contract that through Covid and everything they did not let me out of I have repeatedly told them that I have not wanted to keep my contract after the three years were over and Im still being charged and Im not able to phone them or anything

      In January, my husband and I started a new business and knew neighborhood magazines. We thought it might be a good opportunity to promote our business even though the costs were extremely high. After a few months we had ZERO customers from the advertising. I explained that it was not working and were promised an editors write up and a full page write up about our business. Neither one occurred. I was then told we could cancel so we notified them in July that we wanted to cancel. Well, the company kept charging my credit card so I followed up and was given the "well, you signed a contract". No options, just no. No wonder it's hard for a small business to survive. I really like the local reps but the company as a whole the just like every other greedy company. They do not care about you or your business! BEWARE. I have asked kindly several times to cancel the contract and now I'd like a refund from July when we were first we could cancel and gave our notice.

      First, our advertising is intended build a brand imagewhich takes time. Our advertising is not intended like a coupon clipper magazine. Our commitment to this client is to get their message in front of a good audience and that is exactly what we are doing.


      With respect to promising this client an editors write up,that is not true. This client was supposed to have some new technology  installed in their store and our local rep said they would be happy to include that in an upcoming Residents Letter.However, they never got the equipment so there was nothing to write about.


      With respect to a business profile, we did tell them we would be happy to include one although it was not required by contract.However, this client hired an outside agency to help them with marketing and that agency wrote a profile for them they did not like. So there was no profile to run.


      This client was never told they could cancel their print agreement at will. We have committed to helping this business reach their target audience and we continue to do so.

      Best Version Media allows their reps to meet in person, but does not allow you to cancel. Their reps tell you they are going to cancel your policy and then they dont. Once they charge you, they tell you it is your fault and lie saying you never gave notice. I have the rep for their company confirming I gave him notice and they are still denying.

      This 3 year contract was done without my company having the contract presented to them to review before signing. It was pushed for ****** (owner) to swipe his credit card and sign while the rep was on site, and what he was not shown a copy of the contract that would tie him in for 3 - **************** AND Print - advertising with this company. His account of what happened and why this is unacceptable:May 16, 2022 10AM Meeting with BVM Rep **************************** Contract with fine print sent via email on May 16, 2022 @ 11AM. Contract was signed during the meeting. I had swiped my credit card and while I thought I was signing for the credit card, my signature was obtained surreptitiously. Everything cleared up in the screen except for a line for the signature. No fine print for me to read or explained. Online print started Sept ****************************** Sept 2022 **************** The contract WAS NOT clearly explained, the fine print information was never provided upfront during the meeting. I only got the fine AFTER I signed the contract. -As a company employee who is in charge of the advertising now, I see how my boss was completely scammed into this contract and bullied into signing on the spot. The right thing to do would be to cancel this contract and stop scamming small businesses out of money that they need to keep the lights on. No one has returned calls in regards to this matter either.

      In May of this year, I signed a contract with Best Version Media, LLC. Upon signing of the contract, BVM committed to provide a magazine with my paid monthly advertisment and quarterly contributor article to "nearly the entire community in which the magazine was distrubuted. BVM committed to coaching and editing of my ads and articles. In addition, promoting of my business via post and video clips on the company's branded social media channels not channels of personal employee social media. BVM stated that their job is to "put the clients message consistanly in front of their desire customer base to increase recognition. **************** committed to providing regular meetings to check in on progress, new updates, and future ideas to promote my business related to interior design, home decor, dog products, and womens fashion.BVM has not provided me the services that they agree to when signing my contract. BVM is only distrubuting magazines to a fraction of the market. When I asked for clarification and precise qualifying criteria for who recieves the magazine, I was given vague and changing answers, " the numbers will increase when more contributors are added". BVM grossly misrepresents my brand and fails to message appropriatley to my target market, **************** Home Decor, dog products and women's fashion. When asked to refrain from misc social media foder and instead focus messaging as discussed when i signed my contract, BVM fails to change message. BVM continuously fails to conduct business essentials in a professional, effective manner. BVM's heavy-handed misrepresentation of facts, and inability to deliver what they committed to providing, lack of responsiveness in changing after i have clearly explained the issues, leads me to conclude they will continue in this fashion for the remainder of the current 3 year contract. My business would be harmed financially and reputationally by associating further with BVM. Supporting documentation upon request.

      At no point was the distribution of our magazine mispresented to this client. Our sales presentation is very clear that we have micro-targeted distribution. We do not publish the types of periodicals you see dumped in the lobby of the local grocery store.

      I feel BVM has completely dodged my complaint.  Not only have they grossly mispresented my brand, there has been no support in the last 2 months and I have not even recieved the three magazine that I was promised when signing the contract.  I have no choice but to pursue legal action to cancel the contract.  I will stop any future payments to and they will hear from my attorney.

      I received the last response from BVM and I am still not satisfied with the response.  They completely dodge all my concerns in my original email and my request for a full refund and cancellation of my 3 year contract with them.

      I continue to believe that BVM has not held up their end of the contract as they originally stated.  Receiving (1) copy of the magazine after agreeing to 3 copies and a few random email reminders to submit an article was not what I signed up for.  The promise to help promote my business in a  professional manner and advertise my brand as promised was not met and has not been met since my initial complaint.  I made my concerns known very early into working with BVM and had several conversations with my direct contact at the company as well as indirect contact and I was told to be patient and it would get better.  

      After many conversations and frustration with false information that was told to me at my initial meeting,  I asked to opt out of my contract because I felt that the relationship between both parties had been damaged and I was told that my expectations were too high.  

      My only request at this time is to get a full refund and to end my contract with BVM.  No other response will be acceptable at this point.

      I have asked on several occassions to end my contract with BVM due to misrepresentation of member numbers, Social Media Content and others that have been stated in the original complaint.  Saying that I committed to a magazine and you have provided a magazine is your only responsiblity is reckless and unprofessional.  And to be clear, I have not recieved a magazine in 4 months, which was also promised to me.  

       

      My only request at this time, and has been when this complaint was issued is to cancel my contract with BVM.

      I began monthly advertisements with Best Version Media in June 2021 for my new Professional Home organizing business. I have yet to receive ONE client from these ads in over a year, I have spent $3,735 for zero clients. I have contacted Best version media regarding the fact that I am pregnant and due with my child in December. I am not able to work, nor have I been for months. I am also most likely not going to be able to work for the first year or so of the childs life. I have absolutely no income to pay this monthly contract and they said the only way to break the contract is if I find a replacement company that does the exact service as me. I have no knowledge of anyone that does the service I used to provide in the area nor should that be my responsibility. I am locked in for another year and 8 months, they are not being understanding in the slightest.

      This company sent a representative after we repeatedly told them we were not interested. I am not aware of any contract that was signed because I believe an employee was there that day. We never received an ad proof and the ad that is published is not even a correct description of our company. We do not want the ad published again and we want the charges canceled for the future. We are taking steps with our bank to stop the charges from being withdrawn because our business is only open for 3-4 months during the spring season. We do not have the funds to pay for this service and the ad is incorrect. We have left messages but never get a call back. We just want this canceled and we don't want to do any further business with this company.

      This is not true. Our local rep met directly with the owner. They discussed season options as the client is a landscaping business. The owner was going to let us know if they need to skip any months of advertising due to seasonal issues.


      An ad proof was sent to the client but they did not respond.Our local rep needed to call the client to get a response.  The client said they would get to it but never did.


      Our local rep has visited this client to deliver our magazine and no one was there. She left multiple voicemails with this client with no response.


      We believe we have done everything possible to provide an excellent service to this client.

      I signed a contract with Best Version Media on 1/5/2022. I requested that our promotional ad run in their monthly magazines in the communities of Crownridge, ***************, Dominion, and ******. I was initially told that BVM is not focusing on these communities and they would run our ads in their ******* community which is much too far away. I later found out BVM is in some of the communities I requested but they continued to run our ad in *******. After signing the contract, I was told that our ad would initially be in the February issue and upsized strategically for the March issue which didnt happen. It wasn't until June that BVM made good on this. They also offered to do a business profile article on us for the June issue. As instructed, I provided a 500 word article and some pictures. I was told the article and the ad would be placed strategically on separate pages in the issue. Instead, our ad and article was crowded onto the same page resulting in the article being truncated. Finally, the paper quality of the magazine is very poor. The actual magazines I received in the mail the first half of 2022 did not at all resemble the quality of the magazine example I was sold. I have yet to receive a monthly issue of their magazine thats not torn, creased, or crinkled due to the paper quality thereby making them unacceptable to refer to in professional sales presentations to potential clients. BVM has proven to be incompetent and unethical resulting in my written request that our contract be terminated which they are not willing to do. I would prefer not to escalate this to my attorney and simply want BVM to acknowledge that they did not live up to the contract and agree to its termination.
