A month ago I had a rep come and I was hesitant and asked if anything came up money wise is there a way to make that work. I was told they try to he flexible when stuff happens. So I signed. Didn't get to read over the contract just told to sign.I was excited for the exposure. A few days later I realized I was pregnant and my rent had gone up more than expected ( I was renewing my lease but expected it to remain pretty much the same if I signed a 3 year contract however I was told I could only do 1 year contract. So I contacted the representative and let them know I could no longer afford the 250$ a month and was just told too bad. I asked for a phone call several times from the customer care rep and was given no such courtesy. Just given the run around. I have since had to freeze my card and am hoping they atleast call me back.

I signed up with Best Version Media in May of 2022. At the time I was given a verbal confirmation that I could cancel at any time and that my contract would be only a year. Not only this the monthly amount I was paying was far more than agreed to. I am currently close to $600 a month. In the end I will have paid close to $20,000 all to have a tiny ad placed in a little neighborhood publication. I would have never signed a 3 year agreement to anything let alone do it with no cancellation option. During our *************** my salesperson verbally confirmed I could cancel anytime. I'm certain that there is a reason that video conferences are used during the sales process and I think it has to do with proof. There is none with video. I have read over several hundred complaints by this company and they all say that they experienced a bait and switch. This cannot be a coincidence. This is predatory practice at its worst.

10/27/2022, a representative of Best Version Media gave a sales pitch to us. He showed us a copy of a publication he said was from a different area saying he was only using it for demonstration and implying he did not have a copy of the local publication. He said the publication in our area would have the same content. We were very clear the content was important to us. He said our local publication would have all the same content as the one he was presenting to us.We signed a contract for 36 months at $399 per month based on the information he provided in his sales pitch. After the representative left, we found a copy of the the actual publication on our desk. It had about 1/3 fewer pages and did not have several of the features we were shown in the sales pitch. About 2 1/2 weeks later, we spoke with the representative about our concerns, and he said our local version did not have the content yet, but would soon. He did not say how soon, but indicated that if we wanted some specific content in the publication, we could sponsor it. We said we were concerned, he said he would be back in contact with us. We decided to discontinue our relationship with the company and sent an email detailing our issues and asking all further communication be in writing. We were charged the first payment of $399 almost 4 hours later. The representative called, was loud and insulting. Highly unprofessional. When asked to communicate only in writing, he said too many things can be miscommunicated or misconstrued when put in writing. We again asked to have all further communication in writing, he said we would be hearing from the legal department and hung up.The publication was misrepresented to us and we want the contracts voided, contract numbers E-****** & E-295809.Based on many of the complaints on this site and others, this appears to be a systemic issue.

As an inducement to sign the advertising contract provided by the Best Version Media sales agent, I was given and the agent confirmed fake market distribution numbers for the areas we were interested in and what I now know were other material misrepresentations I relied on during the sales presentation. We signed up for ads in two local magazines. I got a copy of one magazine but not the second one. After repeated requests for a simple confirmation for the other magazine, I never got one, and I still don't know if it was run. My friend that lives in that area didn't get a magazine, which is now beginning to make sense; it seems like most people don't get the promised magazines. No wonder they don't work.Regardless, with no responses to an ad that produces excellent results in every other print publication, I decided to investigate. The result? I couldn't confirm any other households in my neighborhood that received the magazine, even though I got one.As for the fake distribution numbers, according to the most recent census, the area where the ad was published has a population of about *****. But the ***************** We Serve" document provided by the Best Version Media sales agent shows a circulation of "*****+" single-family homes, making the promised circulation impossible even if delivered as promised, which it was not.I no longer trust or want to advertise with Best Version Media and have, like so many others, asked to cancel my contract and get a refund for their fraudulent inducement and breach of contract.

These allegations are simply not true. The two magazines that this client advertises in have been printed and distributed as promised in the quantities that were promised.

The first month of this clients advertising we tried to personally deliver the magazines but they had a P.O. Box listed. After correspondence with the client, we dropped off the magazines at the owners residence.

The allegation that we have used fake distribution numbers is not true. Our magazines reach the number of households represented. In fact, we reach more households that was told to this client during the sales process. This documentation has been sent to our client.

In short, we have fulfilled our promises and representations to the fullest.

I signed a contract for Best Version Media (BVM) to mail magazines to *********** residents in ******** **. *************************, the sales rep, assured me "I would be exclusive to ***********", have an article about me in the October 2022 issue for Working Women in ********, have a 1/2 page ad in every issue on the Community Page, have a feature article about me in the November issue all in a letter signed and dated by her. I sent existing ads, as requested by BVM to ***************** 30 and 31, 2022. ***** did not forward my information to the "****** on the design team" until mid October according to emails from ******. I was never sent a proof for the October issue although numerous emails were sent requesting followup from ****** and *****. No ad or article appeared in the October or November issues but they billed me $736.70 and refuse to refund my money. ************************* is manipulative and dishonest. She has NO integrety. She intentionally makes promises she knows she cannot keep just to trick you into signing a contract and then is nowhere to be found when issues arise from her lies. There are 9 other complaints on the BBB website. I was referred by a friend to her so it never crossed my mind that I should check BVM and ***** on this site. It is a mistake I will not make again. I would like my money refunded, in full, and the contract cancelled immediately. Paragraph 2. Provision of Services. BMV agrees to sell to Client the monthly insertion of an Ad into a Publication for a Total Monthly Payment. They did not provide the service, therefore they should not have taken payment for services not rendered.

This client was never promised exclusivity to ***********. This has been addressed with her many times over.

Our communication with this client has been very good. Proofs for ads were properly sent.

We have treated this client with professionalism from day one. She got in touch with us to advertise. It then took her 2 weeks for her to sign the contract. She printed out the contract and I called us to go over every single line of the contract with her.

I was contacted by ******************************* from ************* **************** aka Best Version Media to promote my struggling medical aesthetics practice last month. She said I am the last med spa in ** she will promote, pressured me and promised that she would work on my website, and social media. She promised print ad and that she will personally do the "leg work" to get me leads and clients in our local ************* community. She said she will send me emails about proof of ad and will actively promote me on ******** and ****** and not to spend money on ****** ads. Nothing was done. She sent in a 1 page contract and got my signature, and added terms and conditions with 2 more pages that I have NEVER seen when I was signing the 1 page contract. The contract was fabricated. The 2 pages were added and my signature was added to the contract. No one in their right mind will sign such contractual terms. I am not alone as victim in this fraud--contact businesses who rated 1 star reviews on Yelp for Best Version media and you will know this company. You will not see the whole contract before signing it. This is signature and contract fraud. Furthermore, she asked me to "find someone" who will take over my contract and until then I am bound by my contract. The contract changes according to her terms. She stalked me on social media, when I removed her as a follower, she would add herself back on--I had to block and restrict her account. To this day, I was unable to reach her--she is in "meetings all day" I tried to reach her multiple times to cancel my contract and she kept repeating you are in a "binding agreement" and she wants everything "in writing" through email. She is forcing to advertise my business and threaten "binding contract" terms which are added to my signature. There had to be laws to protect small businesses and owners against vultures like this company.

Our local rep was in periodic contact with this client for over a year before she decided to enter into an agreement to advertise in our magazine. Our rep met with her in person and had numerous calls with her before she ended up executing the agreement. The standard contract was sent to the client via email so she could e-sign. The contract was for a standard ad and digital display ads on ******** and ******* All of the terms and conditions were present for the client to read and review. She apparently chose not to read them.

The client executed the agreement and was notified of the next steps, which were to gather the items needed to submit to the designer for her ad creation. Our local rep had a phone conversation to discuss ideas and an email was sent with a visual sample of a suggested ad. The client provided the information she wanted on the ad, her logo, and confirmed the offer she wanted on the ad all of which was submitted to the designer.

One week later, the client reached out, saying she wanted out of her agreementwhich was clearly nothing more than buyers remorse. It was explained that she signed a binding agreement and the two ways to terminate it are to show proof the business closed or for us to find a business to replace her agreement, which can take some time. It was explained that we would try to find someone to replace her, but in the meantime, we needed to work together to maximize our efforts to make the most of her investment. It was mentioned that if she knew of any businesses that might be interested in exploring advertising in our magazine to let us know. She reached out saying she had a business who would be a perfect fit for the magazine but she wanted to be released from her contract before she would give any details. She was told that isn't how it works. If she could please forward us the info we would get in touch with the business right away to see if it's a fit. Then, she filed this complaint with the BBB.

The ad designer created her ad and emailed the client numerous times for edits or approval, all of which are documented. It was stated that if the client did not respond by a specific date the ad would run as-is. The client never replied. Our local rep also tried to reach her via email and direct messages, but no reply back for one week. The ad went to print and is in the December issue per the signed contract. The digital display team created her digital ads and have also been reaching out via email with no reply back.

The client did a lot of communication via Instagram messages and even made a statement that DM seems to work best, which we have the screenshot for documentation. We have screenshots of many of the messages that were sent back and forth.

We have documentation of the emails and direct messages with her showing that she understood the next steps after signing the agreement, which were the print and digital ad design. There is also an email that went out with the link to complete her business spotlight questionnaire as the next step after the ads. We also have documentation from when she was messaging our local rep on Instagram and wanted to talk.  Our local rep messaged her to please call, which she never did. Our local rep reached out via email again, saying they never heard from her, but have yet to ever receive a call from her.

Regarding help with cleaning up her website, social media, and setting up a Botox day with some local ladies, our local rep offered that outside of the terms of the contract to help her business and for free. All of this done out of the kindness of our local reps *************** remains willing to do so,but this client immediately began demanding to be let out her contract.

In the end this client simply wants to terminate her contract because she changed her mindand she wants us to look like the bad guy. The truth is that she knew what she was signing up for and should be expected to honor the contract she signed.

A business partner signed a 3 year agreement for advertisement with this company. The company agreed and right away took money from the business without consulting the co-owner of the company which I guess happens. We have tried since the signature was made to cancel the services. This company makes it IMPOSSIBLE to get out of any agreement. This company does not provide any useful information, this company does not help the customer, this company has many MANY false promises. We send a ridiculous amount of money to this company for absolutely nothing. We have received ZERO leads in over a year, the company has not attempted to make any changes or help us. As soon as the agreement was signed the business stopped caring because they get your money regardless if they do any work for you or not. This business is a scam. We have complained many many times and received the same answers which basically pointed fault at us. They are an advertising company and they do not care to advertise for their customers. DO NOT get involved with this company. You will be out TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars a year with absolutely nothing but a headache and stress in return.

******************************, co-owner of Rest Assured Roofing, signed an ad agreement with Best Version Media. This made Rest Assured Roofing the exclusive Expert Contributor in Roofing for both Cornwall area BVM magazines.

After he was presented with 3 options: a 12-month campaign with no discount; 24 months with 10% discount, or the 36-month campaign with a 38% discount (for being in both
magazines) he opted for the 36-month Expert Contributor that includes a $20,000 additional value per magazine.

All of the Expert Contributors receive a schedule for their quarterly article submissions, along with the article guidelines. They are also reminded of their upcoming article two weeks prior. This client never really took advantage of this unique opportunity to help the readers make informed decisions and showcase their expertise. This client only submitted one or two articles at the very beginning of their campaign, always with mention that they were too busy, even in the winter. Our writer actually wrote 3 articles on this clients behalf to help them out, at no extra charge. On several occasions, our writer sent the client a questionnaire to be filled so that we could write their business profile. This is a $2,700 value thats included in their package, but we never received any answers to the questions.

Furthermore, we mailed the client the magazines every month and when they had an article published, we would have it plasticized for safe keeping and for them to use as promo material in their office.

We do not promise ROI. What we promise is that their 1/2p ad will appear in over ***** homes of some fantastic neighbourhoods in the ********, ** area. These coloured glossy magazines are delivered to each neighbourhood home via ************ Simply, its about the neighbourhood that they live in. Our magazines are not sitting in a rack at the gas station or grocery store. And since their campaign started, over 700 homes have been added to our distribution--at no extra charge.

It is unfortunate this client wants to cancel. They have received the benefit of their bargain by getting a substantial discount and having their business advertised in a beautiful neighborhood magazine, but they want to deny us our benefit. This is totally unjust.

I signed a three year contract with Best Version Media and their ********** publication. I met with the rep who I trusted and I was happy to be a part of something local focusing on **********. I was reluctant to sign a three year contract. The rep then told me stories of 2 or 3 different people who were allowed out of their contracts. IF I remember right, one was due to a move and one was a life event or change. I can't remember the other. I was hesitant, but those stories put me at ease. I own ********************* in **********. I am the owner and sole nurse injector. 5 or so months into paying $1150 per month to Best Version Media, I had ONE PERSOn come to my place of business as a result of their advertising effort. I LIVE in ********** and the publication never showed up in my mail box. I contacted the rep and let him know I was struggling and wanted out. I can't afford to pay this monthly with only one person as a return on that investment. He said NO. Then, I was sent to either a supervisor or legal department who also said NO. At this same time, my dad had a stroke and is now living with me. I shared this info at the time as I didnt' know which way my ad's health was going to go or what it would demand of me. Now, my dad is doing much better. I shared this with my rep and he could have cared less. I have since contacted my lawyer to see if there is ANY way I can be released from this. TO this date, I have asked every single patient that has come in my office how they heard of me and still only ONE PERSON saw me in the magazine. This is killing me...

Best Version Media representative (*********************) booked my company on July 9th to do simple yard maintenance. After the job was completed she briefly discussed what seemed to be an opportunity. She stated that the advertisement would easily pay for it self monthly by gaining us more customers. She stated that it would connect me and my partner with the *** for the ***** community. She stated that she noticed our scheduling system did not have many bookings and that this will help our business out with filing up time slots. The price would be $200 a month. She claimed to be the BEST ADVERTISEMENT within emails. Understanding how hard it is for the start up of small businesses, opened up a gateway for my business to be Taking advantage of by ***** and best version media. After the first month of absolutely no affects from the advertisement, I quickly realized that this business was just like other advertisement companies that use their words and empty promises to lure in newly formed small businesses. Its been 3 months and I havent received any leads coming from their advertisement, but now we have a $800 bill with best version media. We are a struggling company who thought we were dealing with a local ad company controlled by *********************. I emailed ********************* stating that in all the ways she said her company would help us turned out to be false. I stated that this appears to be a scam and i would like to discontinue their services. She emailed me back once changing up on her words of persuasion that she used to get us to work with Best Version Media. I stated that I simply cannot afford to pay $200 monthly to company that can not hold their end of a deal. The next email I got from best version media was a email from their legal team stating how I must remain in business and payout $7,545.60 in total. I will agree to pay the amount from July 9th to today October 14th. Once again I have not gained any leads, or any new customers from this business advertisement.

To willingly provide clients with a bait-and-switch contract. If you're a business you are expected to provide a service. Stating you signed a contract does not remove the burden of you providing results for your clients. BVM you are responsible for correcting your services when clients are telling you it doesn't work. We have no problem honoring the contract IF you also hold up your end of the deal. You are doing business in ***************** and the burden for you to perform and uphold your contract service is a requirement. I'm writing to let you know I'll be considering filing a class action lawsuit against your company due to your methods of bullying, and charging during a pandemic when businesses were closed by the government. These completely unethical practices are detrimental to small businesses. Every major company granted individuals some sort of assistance during the pandemic, but here you are demanding money for a service we were lawfully unable to provide to our communities.
