Do not ever buy windows or doors from Menards. The door were special order and cheap. They were not square and difficult to clean. The finish comes off when you wipe them. The doors were not square. The windows sagged and I had to use sand paper to clean off, they were expensive with transoms. I thought since it had been a few years, 15, that they would of been better. I made the mistake twice. Menards would help with the return.

I spend a fair amount of money at Menards. I mostly buy screws, bolts, paint, cleaning products, plumbing supplies, etc. The other day I bought some screws, bolts and some home maintenance products. The total bill was in the neighborhood of $50. I checked out , paid, got my receipt and proceeded to self bag my items (typical at Menards). The cashier then says to me "It's 10 cents per bag". This was AFTER I paid with a credit card. I felt like saying I'll take two bags and all I have is a $20 bill. Then going to the service desk and returning one of them for a refund because I hadn't used it and don't need it. But that would make me as petty as Menards. Instead I'll check Menards off my list. Consider this: I'm sure Menards pays a fraction of a cent per bag (they're just the flimsy plastic bags) and charges ten cents (WHOPPING PROFIT)

I purchased curtains from their online store. When they arrived they were the wrong color. I called the local store and they told me to bring them in. When I arrived they "refunded" me for the curtains, minus the shipping cost and processing fee. I spoke with their store manager and they stated that per company policy they will not refund shipping cost and processing fee...even if it was their mistake. So now, I'm out that extra money. Why should I be paying for their mistake? Beware ordering anything online from Menards!

I bought a Criterion 20 cu ft freezer from Menards. The door and gasket were wrapped. I called the warranty company which was Winna. They tried to get the parts but were unable to after several months. So, Winna gave me a return authorization that said return or replace to the store of purchase. But being this was the second Criterion freezer we had this problem with, I wanted a refund. I had already bought a freezer from ABC Warehouse to replace it. Menards would only give me a store credit because it was over 60days. I talked to a manager the night of return and the office manager the next day. Still stuck with a store credit. They have no customer service!

      1. Delivery and special order fiascos constantly. 2. Lots of bait and switch/misadvertised products. 3. Truly incompetent employees that do not know their dept and more importantly couldn't care less when you have a problem. 4. Extremely poor quality material whether lumber or other items. Yes all the big box lumber stores are low quality and sell a lot of Chinese junk but Menards is the absolute worse.

We did our first and only purchase 2 years ago. About $2400 worth of siding to do a house. Stored til we had time to install. One square was loose and unboxed. It didn't match the rest. I emailed the store manager our receipt and pictures as he requested with no satisfaction. Also never received the 11% rebate they advertise!

Menard's advertises an 11% rebate on purchases made in their stores. I was remodeling my home and chose Menard's over other home improvement store because of their rebate promise. I purchase at around $800.00 in vinyl flooring during April of 2022. I submitted the rebate form along with the required documentation and as of September 2, 2022, I have not received my rebate or any correspondence regarding a rebate. I was recently visiting family in another state and we got on the topic of Menard's. My family member had a similar situation in which they purchased items from Menard's and have not received a rebate or correspondence. I reached out to Menard's and so did my family member with no response. I decided to write this review as a buyer beware that if you shop with Menard's you may not get the promised rebate that they advertise. In addition to their false advertisement, their customer service in stores is HORRIBLE, I threw that information in for free.

Had custom windows ordered for a major addition. Was told 90-120 days for the order to come in & they’d be in contact about updates/changes. Having heard nothing as the that timeframe was nearing expiration, I called. Was told the order hadn’t even started the manufacturing process & was bumped another 90days out. Was also told Menards got notice of this extension 60 days earlier but didnt tell me. I asked why & was told “it’s not MY job to call every customer about their order!” Stating my dissatisfaction w/this, I asked to speak w/ a manager, Stacy. Stacy apologized & said she understood this was unacceptable & said she had actually learned our windows were discontinued & were never going to be manufactured. Stacy & I discussed our need to purchase windows elsewhere immediately & promised a full refund by either cashiers check or credit card refund within 1-2 weeks. She commented the 1-2 weeks was to bypass their typical 90 day return policy which she agreed wouldn’t be fair to apply in our case since there was no product in our possession AND Menards had known about this SIXTY days earlier & neglected to inform us. I had Stacy confirm one more time her understanding of our agreement & her telling me to place an order w/ another company before hanging up & doing so. This all took place on a Friday. Stacy asked that we make the hour drive to their store on Monday morning to start the refund process in person by reprinting receipts at the kiosk. While on the road Monday, Stacy called to say they changed their minds & would no longer be refunding us our money. We would need to pay them 25% restocking fee on windows we were told didn’t exist & never were made and we may have to settle for in-store credit. By arrival to their store, multiple managers & employees were positioned at the desk all now stating the only communication ever between them & us was a call to say our windows were done & arriving in 2 weeks. We now own 2 sets of windows at a cost of $12 GRAND each!

Fraudulent sales practices (appliances):We purchased a Menard's house brand Criterion refrigerator, and the extended service plan they push with every sale. After identical failures in the original and the replacement units, we discovered:1) At the time of sale, Menards does not disclose that NO SERVICE IS AVAILABLE for their Chinese manufactured Criterion appliances.2) They sold us an extended service contract even though NO SERVICE IS AVAILABLE.

I purchased trusses that were to be delivered the jobsite. I paid for the trusses and the delivery fee. . then was notified that they could'nt make the delivery due to weight limits. they charged me a 25% restocking fee because they were special order. I would not be returning them if they were delivered. they said that doesnt matter so in the end I'm $1,440.00 and have no product. absurd!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM MENARDS
