This company calls itself 4 different names. Left us, over the holiday, unable to do anything or pay anyone. Took payment for their services, but never provided any services. They had nine days for the first transaction that did not process and 3 days for the second amount to process, which neither ever processed. They did not inform anyone at our agency that nothing was being processed, which is why they were hired. But, yet they billed us twice and sent us a receipt that these transactions took place. After hours at our bank did we ever understand the occurrence of which our bank forced us to get another account and close out the account and we did nothing to no one.

I closed my Merchant One account in 10 days after discovering high credit card processing fees and other hidden charges. They say that the charges for credit cards are ****% but in reality, it is up to 4%. They hide the fact that ****% is only for basic credit cards, which they call Qualified credit cards, and most of the credit cards come under non qualified credit cards. On top of that, there is a statement fees, monthly minimum fees, which is never disclosed at the signing on. You only discover when you get a statement. My advice: Someone setting up a new business who is not experienced should stay from from these guys.

I just started my business 3 months ago. I finally had my first sale. I was told that it may take 3-4 days to receive my money for the first sale and all other sales I would receive my money next business day. I never received my money and it's been almost 2 weeks now. I tried contacting my customer service agent and got no response. The whole time prior to my first sale my customer service agent would text me for updates on how I was doing with my business. I emailed the company today for a return label to return the equipment and to cancel my service with them. I told them it's fine to just keep my money it was only a little over $16. I owe them $10 for my first month of having the equipment anyways. I would not recommend doing business with them at all. This company is a scam! They should be put out of business!! I feel stupid for not doing my research on them first. After reading all of the reviews and complaints on BBB I will take my business elsewhere to a reputable company.

I am a super small business on the island of Maui . I began using merchant one and all I can say is they became the biggest scam of a company . Not only are their fees insane . **************** is the worst! Every time you call your wait time is an hour plus. If you leave your number on their call back system chances are you will never hear back.I am an instructor of CPR and my business is teaching people how to save lives. Here is a perfect example of how messed up this scam of a company is. I am sole owner with a simple swipe device Bluetooth to an app on my phone. A student needed to pay for his course with a cc . The course was *****. They took out their cc fee . Then they charged me ***** for being non compliant ? After waiting an hour a rep tells me I can get that refunded if I call a number and go through their nonsense to become compliant . I follow through call back wait hour to be told they will send it to another department for refund . Never saw refund ! My balance after all their fees was ***** I paid for this students book and certification bringing me to a major negative using simple swipe. Call back again complaint about not getting refund and along comes next month bill and because I didnt take any charges for the month ( fearful I would repeat going negative again) Merchant One charged me ***** saying items monthly fee if I dont have any charges . ( still no refund as they promised) this is deducted straight out of my bank account . At this point I told them to close my account through text since its somewhat faster to reach a CSR. They closed the account but said I must return swiper they send me a postage stamp I attach to envelope ,bring to *** store stand in line get receipt.I look at my bank account they charge me for swiper!!!!! I call wait hour tell CSR he says I sent for refund . Omg its hard enough dealing with Maui Fires and my business slowing g down . They say their transparent ! I say their thrives

As a small business, we opted to try Merchant One, Inc. because processing fees were lower and there was a gateway with Quickbooks. Our second day (6/30) of processing transactions we were marked by "Risk Review". The initial email from Risk Review was flagged by our mail server as a scam because the body of the email was requesting a bank statement and client information without any business contact information - no name or no contact number - admittedly it looked suspicious. We continued to process cards and get Settlement Report Statements but on 8/4 discovered money wasn't going into our bank account. On 8/7, I was able to get in touch with **** and she did inform me that other transactions had been flagged and gave me more information that I needed to send in but still had no idea why were were getting "flagged". On 8/9, Risk Review asked me why our name wasn't correct so I sent them a snippet of the name change email request that I sent to ************ that was ignored. On 8/10 and 8/11 we ended up getting two deposits put into our account. ********************** called today (************) to let us know that I would need to re-process $8000 worth of transactions. Apparently, he has documentation that we didn't respond appropriately to their Risk review requests and they had documentation to support their claim.Times are tough right now. For small business, it was very stressful switching to a new card processing company, discovering money isn't being deposited into your bank account and then feeling "ghosted" only to find out that now you have to tell your customers we need to re-process the transactions and have them check to make sure things really didn't get charged twice to their cards.Sometimes a cheaper rate does not mean that it is a better deal. We certainly learned our ****** and it was not a pleasant experience. We are going back to Square.

This company is by far the worse credit card processor out there. They have some of the highest fees, are hidden and not told up front. They will hold your money for weeks before letting you know its with the risk team. They terminated my account after I signed up a completely new entity, one week ago, due to risk, really, it was due to them not happy that I was upset about them, holding my money for over a week without telling me. I do over 2 million a year and credit card transactions, and they said it we are terminate your account because an old account youre associated with is high risk. I will be following up with SCC in hopes to get this company taken down and out of commission. BUSINESS OWNWE BEWARE! Do yourself the favor and steer far away from merchant one.

Hidden fees up the wazeeee! 6.95 a month + 25 credit card minimum (despite signing an agreement to buy the device so that I don't have a minimum) + 36.18 PCI Compliance that I just 5 days received a notice to comply, but have been charged for 17 months. This company is stealing money out of your pocket. How did it get an A+ rating?????

Zero Stars I just signed up, feeling foolish now since I am reading all these reviews! The same complaints!!! Hidden fees embedded in the contract for the monthly minimum fee, TIN monthly fees, and yearly fees, were not explained, nor evident in the contract that I signed online. I emailed Merchant One Customer Support and the salesman asking them to void my account immediately and that I would expect a follow-up email. To which they have not responded. I will not be signing onto their portal or using their system. Such shady practices! What a disappointment to have such trickery for small business owners to have to endure! I even asked during my conversation with the salesman as we were talking about how transactions occur and are available the next day, with lower fees than PayPal Wow this is so easy, whats the catch? and he did not once mention all these fees!

This company doesn't ever deserve a star. They are the worst company. I have not received any of *********** since I signed up in January. And now it is **** It has been one excuse after another. It stared out that my account number was put in incorrect. Not my fault. Then for the last 5 weeks it has been in process. I even got to speak the the main person of customer service. So when I called today I left a message for him, He still has not called me back. Thank you *********************. I then called customer service and they told me it was in process. Then a hour or two later I got an email stating that my money should be in my account in the next 5 to 7 business days. We'll see. If this doesn't happen I guess it will be time for a lawyer!
