Bought a Snow Blower from them at Menards and the occasional times I use it the Snow Shoot or whatever you want to call it that controls which direction the snow gets blown keep breaking. The first time it broke literally a week after use and Menards gave me a different one now the same problem happened and for a 2000$+ machinery it is a piece of trash as far as i'm concerned. This company as well has 0 easy ways to contact them the phone number in the manual i got is wrong and their website has nothing but hey wanna buy this instead? Garbage company with garbage equipment.Briggs & Stratton

I bought a lawnmower in June 2022 and only used the mower one time. I did put oil in the mower. The second time I went to use the mower it did not work and just made a spinning sound. I contacted the phone number for the warranty and they told me wear to take it to be looked at. After over a month the service people sent over pictures of the engine. I was told that the engine was not covered under the warranty due to not having oil witch caused the engine failure. This was not my first lawnmower and I did put oil in the mower before I used it. There is a defect with the mower/engine and the company doesn't want to fix their defective mower. They should not sale bad mowers to customers and not fix their defective mowers and not give the customers their money back. The lawnmower is a craftsman and I spent $400.00 on a bad/defective lawnmower. The mower was only used one time and it did have oil in it. There is no way that the engine failed after only being used one time and it had oil in it. The company should be ashamed of their self for putting defective products on the market to be sold. The company should refund my money that I spent on the lawnmower (I did provide the original receipt) or fix the lawnmower at no cost to me. The craftsman lawnmower is a bad product and needs to be taken off of all retailers shelfs.Olympia T.

As of today Monday 11/28/22 my lawnmower still has not been repaired and I still have not had anyone from craftsman or Briggs and Stratton to contact me. I took my lawnmower to A1 Power which is where I was told to take me mower. A1 Power has sent Briggs and Stratton/Craftsman the pictures of the engine that was requested. I am calling on Corporate Headquarters at Briggs and Stratton to honor their two year warranty plan as the mower was only used once and oil was put in the mower correctly. The original case number that I have with craftsman is ******** and have spoken with someone named ***** who is not a help. Idid email craftmans support and recieved a request number of ******* pm 11/11/22 and was told that they do not take care of my model and serial number but gave me another email of ********************************************* that should be able to assist me however, they have not been able to assist me but keeps giving me other phone numbers to call and those phone numbers are automated systems that are not help and can't speak with anyone. Briggs and Stratton Headquarters should honor there warranty and fix the mower that was only used one time and then the mower stopped working due to a defect within the Briggs and Stratton engine.Briggs & Stratton

1 starBought a $1500 log splitter.
Day one gas cap leaked and still does to this day.
Day one over 30 to 50 pulls to start. Then when it did start it ripped the cord out of my hand and hurt my shoulder and wrist.
Day 2 hard to start 20 to 40 pulls and when it did start ripped the cord out of my hand again....more pain!
Splitt some wood and put it away for winter
Next year Fall.
Day one Put fresh gas in unit. Changed oil and put new spark plug in it. pulled for 30 to 50 pulls then when it did start ripped cord out of my hand....more pain.
Split some wood.
Day two pulled 50 to 70 pulls then when it started ripped cord out of my hand....more pain. Split about 10 logs engines dies and will not restart after 100 plus pulls. So many pulls the cord is wearing a hole air filter housing. I pulled it more than I should have for its entire life span!
Go on the internet and see there is a recall for this exact issue. Would have been nice if Briggs and Stratton would mail or contact owners of the recall so they do not hurt themselves.
Day three drag my 600 pound paper weight to a Briggs and Stratton dealer for recall repair.
Waiting to see how the repairs goes!
I am very unhappy with B&S to say the least. Where is there quality control. Less than 8 hours of runtime shame on you and your engine builders!Review fromNicole K

I bought a replacement engine for my logsplitter, model number 104M02-0202-F1. After having read the owner's manual thoroughly, I took note of their warning:
"Rapid retraction of the starter cord (kickback) will pull your hand and arm toward the engine faster than you can let go. Broken bones, fractures, bruises or sprains could result. When starting engine, pull the starter cord slowly until resistance is felt and then pull rapidly to avoid kickback."
So I made sure to follow the instructions. On Sunday, even though I followed the directions, kickback happened and I was off to the ER to make sure I didn't break my hand. (Severe sprain). Thursday, I tried it again. SECOND TRY. Kickback. This time, severe sprain on my left hand - ring finger and pinky finger. I have never experience a product which KNOWINGLY is sold that will cause harm to the consumer. This engine cost me to purchase it, 2 days worth of work (and pay), AND an additional $300.00 in lost income from not being able to split firewood to sell it. REALLY DISAPPOINTED! Even more disappointed after seeing that there hasn't been a company response to the most recent reviews!Briggs & Stratton

I bought a lawn mower in May 2022, started to rev really loud the governor was faulty on the engine. I called Briggs and Stratton, and the 5 times I called, they swore up and down it wasnt their issue, meanwhile, its their engine took 1 month to finally get a new engine shipped out I had it home for 5 days, cut half my back yard, and gas was leaking through the air filter.. I contacted the service center where I dropped it off, they said its a MANUFACTURERS DEFECT in the carburetor with the needle valve. THAT IS NOW 2 BROKEN ENGINES THAT I RECEIVED. Briggs and Stratton obviously do not care about customer satisfaction, and if so, I want my money back ASAPBriggs & Stratton

They’re not an honorable company. They know they had a defective engine model. It was well known and all over the news. Quite easy as a google search. When my snowblower caught fire, they concluded that it was due to a mouse to avoid compensation/repair cost after dragging it out for months. Be aware that this will be an excuse they will use to get out of any responsibility. I will definitely avoid their engines now.Briggs & Stratton

The warranty on the engine is limited to manufacturing defects and does not cover maintenance related issues. The engine was inspected by an authorized service dealer, per the warranty, and found to have some type of debris (possibly a rodent infestation) under the shroud of the engine. The servicing dealer found no manufacturing defects.Review fromJohn E
