I had been a loyal Blau customer for the last 20+ years. When I had an issue with a plugged main drain, I would automatically call them to clean it out. I had work done 11/5/2022 that cost $451. The worker had pulled out roots. The two previous main drain services were 3/5/2020 for $356 and 2/20/2018 for $331. The price increase between 2018 through the 2022 services seemed reasonable. I needed the same main drain cleaned out on 7/5/2023. It was now quoted at $754 or a 67.2% increase. That increase was 8 months to the day between services for the same identical work. The worker said there was obstruction but he did not pull out any roots. I asked the worker why the price was so much and all he could say is that was the quoted price in the computer. He could reduce the cost if I would waive the 90 day warranty. I was not going to waive the warranty since I had the historical issues with the roots. The worker called the main office. I talked with the person and asked him why the prices had gone up so much. His response was prices had gone up. He would not offer anything else off the cost except for not having the warranty coverage. He also stated he had to cover the warranty for unplugging cleaned drains due to no fault of his company, i.e., issues with drain cracks, etc.. I asked the worker how long he was plumber and he said he was in construction for 6 years. He vaguely answered the question not stating whether or not he was a plumber. I don't know if he was a plumber or a construction worker that was trained to do the job. I already had to pay the $99 trip charge, plus my drain had been plugged since July 4th so I had the work done. They wont quote you until they are in the door even though they know what a main drain clog is going to cost, I never would have agreed to that price up front. I felt this was price gouging not just inflation increase. My use of Blau has come to an end. I will do research on more cost effective alternatives.

I utilized their services, first to replace a hose to my dishwasher then the following week for my air conditioner. Both times Samantha fit me into their very busy schedules at times which worked for me and was very pleasant. Actual service and outcomes were great, probably a little pricy, but I needed to get it done. The thing that impressed me the most was that both times they brought an “apprentice” with them and I could hear the teaching that went on. So pleased the trades continue to educate and affirm how valuable the trades are

I called for a simple service: clogged kitchen sink and/or pipes. Asked for an approximate quote. They only told me the service fee was $79.00. When the plumber arrived, he made me sign an invoice for $395.00 + service fee. At this point I refused the service. More than $400 for cleaning a clog?!? If they were honest enough to give me this quote when I called, I would have never placed the order in the first place!Blau Plumbing? Never again.

Jeff did a Great job! Came in and saved the day on a Sunday. Could have been a real mess. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and was in and out being conscious of the weekend rate. Highly recommend.

I believe the customer service was horrible and I feel we were overcharged for a job not completely done. Air conditioner still not working properly and cost of parts seem extremely high. Overall the air conditioning problem was not resolved to the customers satisfaction. Work was done on he air Conditioning unit on 6/6/23. The service tech replaced a capacitor for $482 which seems extremely high in repair cost. The next day i had talked to a few friends of mine who said capacitor replacements normally run in the range of $75 to $100. The total bill came to 746.55 and the final result is still don't have no air Conditioning. The air conditioner was running for a few hours with no results of cool air. Later that afternoon I hear a loud buzzing or humming noise coming from the unit. It was too late to call in so I called the next morning to report the problem and talked to a woman. I don't believe she mentioned her name. It was around 7:30 am. I mentioned to her that the air Conditioning unit was not working properly.. She asked if it was a outside or inside unit and I stated we just had work done on it. She had to have known by my phone number that work was just done. She said oh you had the capacitor replaced. I said yes and it was not fixed properly. I then asked her about customer service to check on the service whether the unit was working or not. Why don't they make simple phone calls in the afternoon to verify the service. She said they had too many orders for work requests and no staff to follow up their work. A simple phone call takes only a few minutes. Not even a apology for the inconvenience that I was feeling at the time. I was pretty upset at this point as we had no cool air in the house. After being so frustrated I said we would take our business elsewhere and hung up. Not even a follow up phone call or email the next day regarding the satisfaction of resolving the issue (repair costs and no cool air satisfaction). Not happy

We were called by the homeowner to service his air conditioning system in his home as it was not cooling the house. Upon arrival our service technician found the condenser fan motor was not running, had power to the unit but found the run capacitor was not within specifications.  He offered to replace the run capacitor to attempt to get the unit running but recommended replacing the aging system. The homeowner decided to have us replace the run capacitor, paid us for the part replacement as required and we installed the capacitor. This got the unit running and was cooling however there was a ************************************************************************************************** lieu of spending any more money on repairs.  Our technician offered financing which we offer to all our customers should they opt to take that route to help with the expenses, however he was not approved by the finance company we work with. The cooling system was working when we left. The next day the homeowner called to say the outside unit was making noise however he chose to not have a civil conversation, but rather scold the office staff and hang up before we were able to assist any further.

We had a hose bib leak while we were preparing our house for sale and called Blau to replace it - as our tools were already packed, etc. They sent someone promptly, who fixed our problem in about 15 minutes. That's not our issue. The cost for this service? $743. Why? According to Jeff, the plumber who visited us, $650 of that charge was for a city permit to do the work. The city inspector just left our home to inspect the work, and we were told the city permit fee is $25 min and $8 per fixture. I double-checked this, and that is the cost. The part itself? $10. So that's $43 for a part and permit, or being generous, $50-$60. So 15 minutes of labor was nearly $700? I called Blau and the woman on the phone told me A. They don't break down their costs, but charge a flat fee. And B. We could have refused the work. Sure. But in an urgent matter, who is going to do that? Every other service person we've had do work in our home or received quotes from - whether HVAC or electricians, etc., provides an hourly rate. I'm not questioning the work provided but the outrageous cost. The average general surgeon in this country earns $165/ hour. So a plumber who, while providing a valuable service, is not working on the human body, charges $650-$700 for 15 minutes of work? Blau's response? To quote the time they have been in business, as if that justifies such exorbitant pricing. Plenty of unscrupulous businesses have been around as long or longer. Longevity doesn't equal integrity by default. If their agent lied about the $650 permit upcharge, that's still a problem as he's misleading people as to why the cost is so high. If he didn't lie, but Blau thinks it's good business to fleece people who need quick services (often the case with plumbing matters), that's equally bad. Avoid them - not for the work - but for their dismissive attitude, disregard, and ridiculous pricing practices.
