1 starRude StaffAt the Planet Fitness, ****** location. I attempted to scan in this morning, only a few minutes ago, and the female staff member pushed my hand away, saying I don’t have to scan and multiple times. Several years ago, I broke my back, and whatever I do at the gym, oftentimes requires me to take small breaks back into my car in the parking lot. The staff claim that I don’t have to scan in after taking a break in my car. Not really sure why this is happening or why your staff are targeting me for rude behaviour, but I’d like to stop. This morning I inquired about your hundred dollar promotion for having a bumper sticker on my vehicle. My question was when the cut off date was, and your staff member wasn’t aware that anyone had ever won that money. I have a bumper sticker on my car from Planet Fitness. 1 starWatch your account, they over charged me for three months straight. For late fees because they ran my payment on the wrong date. Didn't offer a refund or credit. I will not recommend this company to anyone for any reason.Review fromKenneth D

1 starIn April, 2024, I was charged a late fee, which is impossible, since sign up requires a credit card. Since then, I have been referred to various 800 numbers. None of the calls resulted in a response, other than another 800 number. Two letters to the CEO have gone unanswered. The initial result was a late fee with my credit card company, because the employee at their ********** location assured me it would be taken care of, and I deducted the charge. 1 starI joined in may and just canceled yesterday from being over billed it’s sasposed to come out each month but they don’t do it they said it’s a billing yes problem wrong account and I’m like but I got proof it was taken out the first month so that’s yall system which is set up to charge late fees that add 15 dollars every few days i paid my annual that month and the next month it said I owe an annual again and last month which so many late fees I canceled it and the next day I go in to make sure I canceled it said I owed two more late fees I just want anyone who is looking to join to reconsider DO NOT DO IT it’s not worth it and they will not try to change it they just made it where associates can’t change nothing over 40 and it’s automatically be over 40 because they keep billing u the annual and going in to pay it do not help planet fitness is scam they don’t even have equipment that’s worthy of u coming for if u tryna work on abs and for further proof me and my sister joined the same day and the exact same thing happened to her and they don’t deserve a star I paid 160 in two in a half months and when I cance shek it didn’t let me finish the month out took me out of the system da same day I have t been in a month anyways this gym a scamReview fromRyne M

1 starI signed up for a black card membership on May 29th, 2024. Something was wrong with the system, so instead of signing myself up, an attendant signed me up. Before signing anything, I asked about what the fees were, when and how often I would be billed, the cancellation policy, and what services were covered under each plan. I was told that Id be charged that same day, and further payments would draft on the 17th of each month. I was told that there was an annual fee of $49 that would be billed August 1st. I was told that if I wanted to cancel, I should cancel before the 10th of the month, otherwise, my account would still be charged and no refund would be given. I was even given a print out of the membership benefits, charges and fees, and the date that the annual fee would be billed, August 1st. On July 1st, my account was billed for the annual fee. I called the club on July 2nd because I was told and provided a document that the annual fee would be billed August 1st. It wouldnt have been an issue, but I needed to cancel the membership for a few months because I have to be away and dont want to pay for a service that I cant use, nor another annual fee, upon returning in a few months. When I spoke with the supervisor of the club, she was very RUDE and refused a refund, even though I was provided the wrong information. She lied and stated that there was no way for me to contact corporate or customer service. She even insinuated that the print out the I was given didnt come from that club. Since corporate watches via cameras, so I was told, someone should view the footage from May 29th, and acknowledge that I was provided the wrong information and refund me.Review fromLibe31

1 starThis is a formal complaint about the fees I have been charged for the past 9 months, yet my son ****** was not granted access to the facilities at Planet Fitness. ****** has been a member since 2018. During those years, ****** was not and is not a very frequent gym goer however he never minded paying the membership due to attendance. That is why I continued paying so he would have access to the gym whenever he had time. At the end of Oct 2023, I went to PF to claim responsibility for ******' membership; I wanted to gift him the gym membership as his birthday + **** present moving forward. They took my bank card ****** had my son's card info as he was already a member. PF had access to both cards. Since Nov 20, 2023, I have been paying the monthly membership fee of $23.04 until July 2024 without interruption. In July, Planet Fitness withdrew 2 payments, one for $39.00?? and another $23.04 on July 1 -monthly fee. From Nov 2023 until now, ****** has faced some issues: My son has been denied access to the gym several times despite having a valid membership, according to them, for nonpayment yet no in-depth explanation given. 1) Lack of communication & support from the gym staff regarding this issue. They failed to tell ****** that they needed a 2nd working card on record, even though they have my son's and mine. The issue started when my son's card was declined due to lack of funds at that time or it expired, however, they tried my card and it worked and continues to work. 2) The response to my son's previous attempts to resolve this matter was inadequate + when he went in person on July 18. This is unacceptable & constitutes a breach of contract. My son is a paying member, he has and had the right to access the services as I have been successfully charged. I request immediate action to address this issue, in the form of 1) Full refund of paid fees for 9 months as he was denied access. 2) Or uninterrupted access to the gym for the 9 months to replace the 9 months pd.Review fromNeha P

I went in one day around a month ago and asked for a day pass. I went in with my sister who has a membership (not the black card) and they gave me the day pass for free. We had asked if I would have to pay the next time I come on or if it would be cheaper to become a member even though I'd only be coming once a week if even because I'm taking online classes and working and when school hits I will not be able to go much. The manager had told me they would let me go for free until school since I wouldn't be going much. I proceeded to get free day passes for around 3 weeks until today. I went in and they told me it was $20 for a day pass. The business manager told me I was lied to and that it's always been $20 so he could not let me in unless I had it. Meanwhile, this was in front of another customer, and he was rude about it. In my experience, if you are told something, the business should uphold its promise at least at that moment. I asked for a reason because we all know you charge more for the day pass to try and get people to sign up for the membership. The more you treat customers like lowly people wanting to lose weight, the more business you'll lose.Planet Fitness

1 starI thought that I canceled my membership, but was charged in June. I called the local gym to find out why I was charged. They do not have a manager, and talked to Jesus. While sharing my story he became belligerent and started accusing me of lying. He never bothered to pull up my information. Furthermore he offered no resolution. He is the Director of Operations Management. The employees did not now who I could contact, so I had to go in the next day. Jesus was there and was very condescending during our interaction. He told me to ****** the Corporate Headquarters number, refused to give an identification number, and told me that Corporate would not know who he was. He was informed that all complaints would go back to the gym, and nothing would be done. Jesus said that there wasn't a number for the regional office. I've tried to research online, and it keeps referring me to the local gym. I am seeking a refund, a letter if apology, and customer service training for Jesus. I also would like a phone call from someone who Regional Headquarters or the franchise owner.
