I ordered a pump from this company and was disappointed. The housing was loose and required the tightening of all the bolts. I called the tech support and asked them which connection was hot and which was neutral, or did it matter. I was told by the tech that they don't give out that information because they are not electricians. What a load of you know what. Since I have electrical experience, I figured it out. What a sloppy way to run a business.

Terrible customer service . And they take advantage of customers lack of knowledge. Refuse to credit acct. when they fail to send proper product and do nit reimburse for shipping. Worst company. So many more reputable companies to choose from!!Doheny's, LLC

1 starOn Sept 11, 2024, I bought an 18x36 pool cover with water bags from Dohenys. When filling up the water bags right away, we noticed holes in 3 of the bags. The pool cover quality is horrible. Right away, it started ripping at the seam. We connected Dohenys on Oct 7th and spoke to a lady named Jess. All she wanted to do was send new bags. We stated we wanted a refund because the quality is horrible she stated she couldn't help us to reach out to customer care through email and which we did with pictures. We then called back on the 8th and got a guy by the name of Rei. He stated that we needed to reach out to warranty through email, not customer care, so we did so and received a response from them stating they don't handle that to reach out to customer care. As you can see, we are very frustrated. All we want is a refund. I will find another pool company to purchase my pool supplies from. There customer service is horrible!Review fromMICHAEL B

1 starFailed & cost me time + money. Used to be a good company - reviews in the last 5 years are dreadful on BBB, ******************** Sorry to see a 50+ year old business no longer care. Ordered a variable speed pool pump with a 1 1/2" *************** Sent a different pump. No callback from customer **********************. Just a ***** return label. Had to call them for an explanation. 1 starThey offer a $10.00 coupon if you sign up with them on their website, which I did but the coupon never was sent to me. I contacted customer ********************** who told me to wait 24 hours, but still no coupon. When I asked for it again, all I got was a hateful and snotty response! 1 starLike most reviews! Atrocious customer ********************** and horrible pool pumps! 3rd pump just went out . Less than 4 months old. Now this is a "replacement" on a warranty product originally ordered back in April 2022. May 2023, 2nd pump "Replacement" of the original.. pulled the motor out of the outdoor elements for the winter. Put it back in April 2023. Pump is used to open pool then stops pumping. Finally get a replacement in June after fight customer **********************. Now, the pump just went out. Worst company and products... EVER!!!Review fromdenise r

1 starAbsolutely unacceptable customer service response to a lost shipment! Order was shipped to wrong address and when I called they told me to “go find the package”! Contacted the carrier and they attempted a retrieval but could not locate package and directed me back to Doheny's. Customer service said that because I misspelled my street name there was nothing they were willing to do! OK…. but it was their system that changed the address and even the zip code to something completely random! Additionally, even though the address did not match my billing address, they still put the charge through? I escalated this to a manager representative who was not interested in solving this problem and was rude, curt and she continually spoke over me! After an hour on the phone, exhausted, I ended my attempt for a resolution. I called my bank and explained the situation and was refunded the entire amount in about a month… This order was over $110. You would figure a huge company could find a way to resolve this and avoid bad reviews?!Review fromDwight D

1 starI would give Doheny's a -minus 5 if I could. You couldn't pay us to spend another dime with this merchant "BULLY". As a long time customer we have received seconds/blemish/reject merchandise for the last 2 shipments of 3- inch chlorine pucks. We generally order a 50 pound container each season. The last 2 shipments received were badly broken up, ground up like no. 2 gravel, some were completely in pieces. Doheny's has No quality control or can't afford to hire any, or just don't care. After "conversing" with customer service I manually went through a mostly full container of chlorine as instructed, pulled out the defective merchandise, took a photo and sent to this BULLY as requested. A total of 28 packets of a mostly full container was crushed to powder. This BULLY offered a 10% refund and asked, how do you want to proceed? Given NO other options, we told them to keep their 10% and remove us from their mailing list. This BULLY knows not how to deal with the ones that feed their families. We refuse to deal with anyone who treats their customer base this way.
