  They don't stand behind their products. Ours is eight years old. We did not take extended warranty. It only has 110 hours. Advertise you should get **** hours. Poor workmanship. Screws loosened on the flywheel, catching and breaking the block. There is no such thing as customer service with this company. Not sure how they are still on business when you read complaints. Funny how you can't look at ratings on their site.

  GENERAC 18KW 120/240V 1PH ALUM NEW GENERATOR GENERAC 18KW 120/240V HSB 1PH ALUMENCLOSURE AIR COOLED Worked for one year, then it started giving problems do to poor designed Fuel System. It seems after weeks of research it turned out that the SOLENOID VALVE accumulates dirt and is required to be cleaned or you will experience an error code 1101 which requires maintenance. Generac Online Support does not respond to inquires and will leave you HIGH and DRY to figure it out your sell and incur cost with there licensed partners. Not worth 10K, you will need to fight for the 5 year part warranty - Good LUCK

  Generac a mfg. of whole house generators , both large and small. Their sales efforts are well known, their dealership problems are of their own creation. It appears as has happened to me, that they have sales dealers who can only sell the product and but not warranty the product and full service dealers who can do both. Unfortunately I bought a whole house not small ( 18 KW) from a company who was only a sales dealer as I came to find out. Although he installed the generator and put it into service at a time when they were offering free extended warranty, he was not one of their preferred stocking dealers, they would not provide that warranty. He performed annual service the first year at my expense and now at 2 yrs. and 2 mos. we are experiencing a problem of no start. The machine shows a code, so I called the mfg. thinking it might be something easy that I could handle. The agent was not familiar with the code. Call the dealer they said, but if it is under warranty my selling dealer is not eligible to apply. Other dealers are not going to be anxious to help. Now many of these machines are sold at *********** ***** and other big box stores( not mine in all candor). Let the buyer beware. A dealer is not necessarily a dealer. Generac on line and at the 800 number is a lost cause. Otherwise it looks good in my back yard.

  The worst product!!!new generator installed spring 2023. Multiple service people have **************. The generator has NEVER WORKED EVEN ONE DAY SINCE INSTALLED!!!

  DO NOT buy a Generac Generator!! They are nothing short of junk. Had mine for 2 year and engine blew! Yes the whole engine had to be replaced. After talking to others this is very common. On top of that a case was submitted for review for extending my warranty due to the faulty unit and it was rejected. There is a good reason the stock is going to $0. You've been warned.

  Have spent weeks trying to get Generac to respond to my problem about a part under warranty. They never call back as promised and the hold line is ridiculous.Anything I can do about this? They have one one number for everything.

  Generac generators? I'm going to be as professional as I can be, but my mission here is to, as strongly, as I can, recommend that you NEVER buy a Generac generator.I did, and I can't tell you how much I regret it.They sold me a generator that they admit was defective out of the box. And here I am, 8 long months later, in the middle of hurricane season, and it still hasn't been repaired.They have done nothing but ignore me, lie to me, and, did I say, lie to me.Their arrogance, once they have your money is stunning, outrageous and appalling. Last thing: this should tell you everything you need to know. Every Generac authorized service company that I have contacted has told me the same two things: Generac has a problem that they know about, yet they refuse to do anything about it.And, even though they are authorized Generac service companies, they will no longer sell Generac generators to their customers.Any questions?

  My name is *****************, and I live on the gulf coast of ***********. A year ago, I paid $10,000 for a brand new Generac generator that turned out to be defective out of the box.Since then, Generac has told me nothing but lies in an effort to stick me with this boat anchor that they sold to me.Every single authorized Generac repair person that has been out here has told me, in essence, the exact same thing. And that is Generac's commercials are extremely misleading, and that they have. quality issues that they just won't address.Further, they have all told me that they now recommend that their customers buy ANYTHING other than Generac, because on top of their quality issues, the people at Generac are arrogant and deceitful. Arrogant and deceitful. That sums up my experience with Generac to the T.I could not more strongly recommend to you to buy ANYTHING other than Generac. Because, if like me, you get a defective generator out of the box, they will send you to **** and back in trying to get a new one, or even your defective one repaired.In my respectful opinion, the people at Generac are crooks who belong in jail. I have read hundreds of reviews on other review websites, and clearly - very clearly - I am but one of many, many, many unfortunate people that was duped by their misleading and dishonest advertisements.In summary, I want to strongly recommend that you DO NOT do business with Generac. There are lots of great companies that make generators. Generac is definitely not one of them.I look forward to watching the day that these crooks go bankrupt, and, hopefully, a bunch of them get led out in handcuffs.What a bunch of lying, cheating scam artists.

  My whole house generator that is less than one year old is completely inoperable. Electric company that installed it determined that was a factor flaw. This occurred in late July 2023 but no solution or replacement has been made. Generac contacted me an assigned it a case number, but no further action or contact has been made for 4 weeks. Multiple attempts to contact the company have been made with no one that could give any information about my case. I feel the company should provide a replacement for this generator not just replacement parts. Again, this generator is less than a year old and less than 5 of run time. Very disappointed in a company of this caliber would be so slow or nonresponsive to a costumer request and concerns.

  I have been trying started in Feburary 2023 to get warranty work on my home stand by generator.have called generac several times and they would say they would contact technican and would take care of it .My service rep.has called several times and always put on hold the last time for one and one half hours. finally hung up and has gotten no response.the motor is out in it and i need help. I am on oxygen full time and need my $6500.00 dollar generator fixed please help

  I purchased 24 KW Generac generator online a year ago and after sitting up generator. I had several issues and contacted local dealer in my area. After replacing propane regulator parts and adjusting high voltage was charged almost $400.00 and I paid it. Two weeks later started having issues with low voltage. Dealer can back out and said generator had control board issues and would have to contact Generac. And was going to charge another $250.00. But I have not paid it. After 2 months I contacted Generac and I emailed all invoices. At this time GENERAC HAS DO NOTHING. I OWN A $6500.00 PAPER WEIGHT. I WANT TO LET PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT GENERAC!!!!!!!!
